Such a cheery thread

Three months ago after eating home made carbonara. I was off work for 2 days. My first period of off work sick in 11 years.

Time before about 2 years ago. I had been for lunch and had a tiny prawn starter. Later, I was on a coach home, with the toilet out of order and a carrier bag of warm sick on my lap for the next 50 minutes. Not nice.

November 5th 2017 in labour with DS2. I always vomit in labour 🤢

BananaToffo · 16/08/2018 16:47

19 years ago when my son was 2...picked up a tummy bug from him, I think.

I think I must have some sort of resistence or resilience. I have been in situations where everybody around me is pooing and puking all over the place & I never have more than an hour or so of nausea and, possibly a slightly loose poo, then I'm done.

Shockers · 16/08/2018 16:51

This afternoon. I was crying so hard I threw up.

60sname · 16/08/2018 16:52

Last month in labour with DS2. Before that, my first night out after DS1 was born Blush and before that, labour with DS1.

Frogletmamma · 16/08/2018 16:52

RUOK shockers

Shockers · 16/08/2018 16:55

Thank you for asking Frogletmama- things got on top of me and I just couldn’t stop. I’m much calmer now though.

KarlDilkington · 16/08/2018 16:55

After Christmas works party. Nuff said.

Andthatsthat · 16/08/2018 17:03

Through illness, about 25 years ago as a child. Even then that was probably the first episode in years. I’ve felt very sick with tummy bugs, but it only ever seems to vacate the other end Grin I can seem to hold it down (so frightened of vomiting) anyone else do this??

Admittedly, in those 25 years there have been alcohol induced sicks Blush followed by alcohol induced crying that I want my mummy!!

MrsMarigold · 16/08/2018 17:11

Two nights ago, I get reflux and wake up in the night with a mouthful of burning acid vomit, but I've always been a vomiter all my life. My DM was bulimic and used to puke regularly, I'm not but vomit easily, DD aged five is also a vomiter.

SendYouUpInFlames · 16/08/2018 17:18

About 3 days ago at 3.30AM when I had an epileptic fit. Was absolutely horrible.

MisstoMrs · 16/08/2018 17:24

D&v every year in October.

More times than I could count when pregnant with DC due to hyperemesis

holycityzoo · 16/08/2018 17:38

Last November. After a very raucous night out where I drank too much wine and did lots of mixed shots. I was violently sick this the next morning. That'll learn me.

DelBoysCrombieCoat · 16/08/2018 18:08

Flowers for everybody who has hyperemesis. I can’t imagine how horrendous that is.

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 16/08/2018 18:28

2 weeks ago, stupid bug

IAmInsignificunt · 16/08/2018 18:31

I got a whiff of a venous leg ulcer at work. Usually I would definitely register the smell and get on with my work but because I’m pregnant I couldn’t take it.

tierraJ · 16/08/2018 18:33

Hahaha vomiting bug sept 2016 after a baby shower with small children present.

I vomited 30 times, yes I kept count.

The dr sent me some buccaneers domperidone which worked well luckily.

MissCalamity · 16/08/2018 18:36

Erm, last Saturday morning. Blush
Heavy night out on Friday Hmm

Definitely more of a puker now with alcohol, I did feel better after I was sick last week. Wink

BlooBagoo · 16/08/2018 18:45

A few months ago thanks to food poisoning from a chicken salad from a local shop.

mintchick · 16/08/2018 21:15

@andthatsthat YES!!! I am exactly the same. Usual procedure is I start feeling nauseous, pass out, come round climb on toilet (usually) just in time for the trots, sleep for hours and then seem to recover. The vomiting part of my brain closes down and I will not vomit.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/08/2018 21:17

Last Friday on the Poole to Guernsey ferry, never been so seasick in my life, in fact can't remember the last time I was seasick

Andthatsthat · 16/08/2018 21:21

@mintchick another non vomiter! I’m so very thankful I have some sort of wonder muscle that will hold it down. I’m not good with sick at all!

MisstoMrs · 16/08/2018 21:42

Thanks @Delboys that’s so nice of you. It’s easy to feel really forgotten when all you do is vom and sleep, repeat. How lovely are you! Flowers

ImTakingTheEssence · 16/08/2018 21:44

Febuary and it was because of d&v at work "Care Home". I thought i was dying.

gandalf456 · 17/08/2018 13:29

Last time was 3 weeks ago with a bad migraine. Before that, I was on a 6 year streak, with the previous occasion involving a dodgy bottle of SambucaHmm

What I find is that I go through phases where I'm sick a lot then a dry period. Once I start, I find it hard to stop, too, so I have to leave the loo and try to hold it in so it stops.

I must admit, unpleasant as it is, sometimes you need a good puke Grin
