Today’s RightMove find...

During my daily Rightmove browsing session (don’t judge me), I came across this beauty.

It actually made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. The child’s bed with no bedding, the old fashioned TV with the lamp, the swinging chair in the garden....it looks like something from a really creepy horror movie!

Sorry if this is your house Grin

I search rightmove daily too. Just for fun. We’re not thinking of moving!! Wink the link doesn’t work!! I want to see it now!

wildgirls · 15/08/2018 22:17

Oh... cross post!! Thanks!

BifsWif · 15/08/2018 22:18

No, we’re not moving either Blush

Wow!! Slightly odd!! Bet if you stare hard enough you’ll see a ghostly figure!

Singlenotsingle · 15/08/2018 22:22

I'd have it if I had a spare £695k! It obviously is desperately in need of a refurb though

Veronicat · 15/08/2018 22:23

It's a lovely old house but the write up to it is pants!

PeanutButterCheesecake · 15/08/2018 22:23

The description is well weird, full of quotes from the owner. It's like estate agent crossed with Take a Break Confused

Irritatingly it doesn't say why he's selling it, which it bloody ought to.

80sMum · 15/08/2018 22:28

Wow! You can get a lot for your money in Mansfield! That house would cost at least £2 million where I live!

UsedBySomebodyAlready · 15/08/2018 22:32

I have never seen a house write-up done like that.
I have also never seen a shower built into a wall before.

That is an awesome house though.

IJustHadToNameChange · 15/08/2018 22:36

They're really proud of the kitchen, aren't they?

Gardai · 15/08/2018 22:44

The endless quotes from the owner was a bit weird.
Lovely house from the outside but I’d be fucked steaming off wallpaper ceilings, a curious mix of styles (to be polite).

"My wife still laughs about the time she cooked 32 eggs"
Awww. They sound like such a lovely couple. I want to go to one of their parties and stay over.

SequinsOnEverything · 15/08/2018 23:11

I liked it apart from the very overpowering ceiling in the second picture. Obviously needs a bit of redecorating and updating and the front needs a good clean, but I didn't find it creepy at all.

GetSomeGumption · 17/08/2018 15:47

I love it!!! That price would buy you a very modest 3 bedroom house where I live.

desertmum · 17/08/2018 16:07

What a fab house - I'd but it if a) I had the money and b) it had about 1o acres!

AuntMae · 17/08/2018 16:12

Why are there random unpainted cabinets in the kitchen?!

sue51 · 17/08/2018 16:26

Thats a lot of house for the money. I'd be there like a shot if it was in the south east.

BarbaraofSevillle · 17/08/2018 16:27

I was wondering about the kitchen units too - are the mismatched doors intentional, or a really bad botch job?

That recessed shower looks like it's on the piss and possibly in one of those optical illusion rooms where the floor and ceiling aren't level so you can't stand up at one end.

I don't like it either and have no desire to live in a massive house.

BarbaraofSevillle · 17/08/2018 16:30

Yawn at all the '£700k wouldn't even buy a shoe box round here' comments.

Yes we know property is expensive in the south east. £700k is a fucking fortune everywhere, that almost no-one can afford unless they've a big inheritence or made money on previous property price increase. That house will cost a fortune to run and maintain, and most people will need paid help to keep on top of the cleaning and gardening.

BruceAndNosh · 17/08/2018 16:33

Chewton Rose, and Fine & Country both do these owner based blurbs on all their houses.
I guess it's "selling the lifestyle" but it seems weird to me - all other estate agents stress on depersonalising the house.
But I'll read all future blurbs in the Take a Break voice!

SecretWitch · 17/08/2018 16:37

I very much like the house and property Blush but then we currently live in a crumbling Victorian heap, with huge iron gates out front. We have the haunted house in the neighbourhood.

Whatter · 17/08/2018 16:38

It's a beautiful house! The write up is ridiculous mind. It's half the current owners life story!

"My wife still laughs about the time she cooked 32 eggs in one breakfast sitting!"

Confused
Foxyloxy1plus1 · 17/08/2018 16:38

The write up has been done by someone with a serious case of verbal diarrhoea. Or has been to a badly runcreative writing class. I wouldn’t like to dust those ruched blinds and curtains. The kitchen might be an expensive one, but I’m not keen.
