How many times do we have to tell you? Yes we still all hate summer!

(But tentatively looking forward to autumn.)

I felt a bit less sweaty than last time. Hot and muggy here today. Supposed to be 17 and rainy here tomorrow, though! Hurrah!

Oh my god, Sunday has just shot up to 25 again and a ‘bad’ 25 (for my flat) with wall to wall scorchio symbols. Yyyeeeeaaaargggghhhhhhh!!!!

I’ve not heard of those, Notlost. I knew there were some anti child ones that only kids could hear but thought they were illegal.

Hope things improve soon, Sapphire Flowers

Sorry. So wrapped up in my own shit at the moment. Fucking new neighbour was on his balcony watching tv! I mean, wtf? So everyone else forced to hear it. I don’t understand what’s wrong with people I really don’t.

I hope you meAn fake fur, Sapphire!

Nowadays, yes. Historically I know it would have been real. I do hope we can come up with a more environmentally friendly faux fur though, instead of what basically amounts to plastic.

Thanks Furry! I've just taken my Pusheen calendar off the wall, I need to do my pictures next. And I'm going to phone in in a minute, wish me luck!

SapphireSeptember · 01/09/2018 09:39

Well, I did it, unfortunately I'm the third person this morning! My manager wasn't very happy... (I just said I'm ill, which is technically true.) Today is also the day I get my keys. Big difference in nipping up to get that sorted, rather than being at work for roughly nine hours.

Notlostjustexploring · 02/09/2018 10:57

Keys! Good luck with the new place!

Summer continues to kick me. We have moths in the wardrobe. Husband points out that we've had the windows open and lights on at night for months now, so probably not a surprise that moths have taken residence somewhere.

Emptying and washing everything in sight it is then....

hugoagogo · 02/09/2018 11:32

It's very warm again this weekend and horribly close overnight- pyjama shorts again.Sad
Hopefully this is the last time this year.
Dc number 2 back to school tomorrow- normality approachesGrin

hugoagogo · 02/09/2018 13:30

Good grief! I am actually crying with the heat now. Sad

Notlostjustexploring · 02/09/2018 16:42

Agreed!! Sodding warm outside. I was lulled into a false sense of security by the fact it's September!! I absolutely cooked being outside in the direct sun!!

hugoagogo · 02/09/2018 17:19

I have calmed down a bit, but had a proper tantrum about it. Blush
I feel cheated, it's September, it must cool down.

SapphireSeptember · 02/09/2018 18:51

My new place is lovely! I spent a couple of hours going backwards and forwards yesterday, taking over things I could carry. Then did a couple of loads earlier and then spent a while chatting to my new housemates! Selfishly, I quite like that it's sunny. Blush My washing is getting dry! I've done a lot of washing over the past few weeks, and was rather annoyed that it got rained on last week. Two more days!

Becca19962014 · 02/09/2018 19:11

It's been bloody horrible here today. 22c. No sun and 90% humidity. It rained earlier which I thought would make it more bearable but no. The air feels treacle.

It's September ffs.

Becca19962014 · 02/09/2018 19:12

sapphire I'm glad your new place is nice!

hugoagogo · 02/09/2018 19:23

26 degrees in my room and Fucking neighbours drinking and talking very loudly. I can't even wig in as I don't know the language. Sad
The sun is supposed to set about 7, I'm hoping that might entice them indoors.

FurryDice · 02/09/2018 20:30

Sympathies to all still suffering. I’m so fucking OVER IT ALL ALREADY!

Fuck OFF, heat, and all associated annoyances, for fucks fucking sakes!

And very best of luck in the new place, Sapphire. Imagine these flowers are a housewarming plant Flowers

Just looked back and I started the first thread on the 5th June, so that’s 3 solid months now, and it had been hot before that - remember the mini heatwave in April? It’s just too fucking long.

Becca19962014 · 02/09/2018 21:13

5th June????? Bloody hell.

We had snow end of March. I remember it suddenly being summer and everyone going on about how lovely it would be to have a nice long hot summer.

Gah.

Three months from now is December, feels an impossible length of time away.

Bloody weather.

MotherofPearl · 02/09/2018 21:37

Coming on to moan and commiserate. This weekend has been boiling. Last night was so hot and uncomfortable and now I'm lying here on my bed in my boiling hot loft bedroom with all the windows and velux open like it's bloody July and May, June, and August.

WHEN WILL IT END?!

Sapphire, glad you like your new place, and that the heat at least helped get your laundry dry.

Fluffy, presumably you meant a housecooling present?! Grin

Notlostjustexploring · 02/09/2018 22:11

Sapphire glad you like the new place but I'm glaring at you suspiciously over your approval of the sun today...

This weather started the first may Bank holiday. It was the day I came back from holiday and I came back to lots of commiserations about the fact that I'd missed the good weather for my holiday. I was then met with flabbergasted expressions when I said I preferred the 16deg and drizzle that we had.

So I make that FOUR FUCKING MONTHS of this!!!
I'm ashamed to admit that I enjoyed the first couple of weeks due to air con in office, still cool enough to sleep and novelty value.

It's really annoying. I keep thinking it's cool, so I keep doing stupid shit like putting jeans on or throwing a jacket in the car or putting long sleeves on my son, and then baking after I've set foot outside when I realise it's still more than 20 and the sun still has a fair kick.

FurryDice · 02/09/2018 22:12

presumably you meant a housecooling present?

Ha ha! Very good, Mother Grin

SapphireSeptember · 03/09/2018 09:16

Aww, thank you everyone! ❤❤❤❤ I'm not an imposter I swear! It's really hot today already, definitely hotter than yesterday.

So, I decided I was going to go to work today, started retching halfway there, was nearly there and threw up. Envy So I announced myself to the manager and came back home again. Not nice. I keep getting cramp in my legs as well and now my calf muscles feel really twitchy. Clearly my body is trying to tell me something. (I surmise that thing is take it easy.)

Housecooling present Grin Love it!

Becca19962014 · 03/09/2018 09:44

Shouldn't it be illegal for it to rain and still be hot and humid????

sapphire it definitely sounds like your body is trying to tell you something and I say that as someone who doesn't listen to their own as much as they should!

SapphireSeptember · 03/09/2018 11:34

Yes, yes it should! Do you want to arrest God or shall I? Grin

Agreed. I will try and fight it, but I always end up losing, so I might as well be resigned to my fate. And my calf is still hurting. Normally it's my right one that gives me gip, this time it's the left.

Housecooling plants would be brilliant!

Becca19962014 · 03/09/2018 12:37

Well it did actually cool down a bit so I could go out so I think we'll need to hold off on arresting the big guy upstairs for now. But I have my beedy eyes on him. It's not allowed.

I try to fight mine too, sometimes though you just can't no matter what you do effect things, doesn't stop me from stubbornly trying though I'm not as bad as I was, I do find it very hard to accept increasing disability, especially when I've had mental health team insisting I'm medically fit and healthy (despite evidence saying otherwise) telling me if I want to be well I will be.

We need to invent cooling houseplants!!!

UtterlyConfused111 · 03/09/2018 15:35

I only came on to say
Fuck off hot weather! I’ve just bloody had enough! Will this never end.
Thank god there was respite for a bit though. Just felt too short. And at least it’s not 30+ I guess.
