I need lazy person breakfast ideas that aren’t toast or cereal and with minimal prep (especially prep in advance).

What do you eat?

Always have a bowl of fruit - today it was melon, strawberries and raspberries.

Marmite27 · 14/08/2018 18:03

Well as I had a slice of marmite on toast, a clementine and a weetabix, looks like only the clementine meets your requirements Grin

Bacon and eggs with avocado and cherry tomatoes.

It keeps me going so much better than toast/cereal.

I have crumpets or cereal.
DH like pastries ,or something sweet like a Chelsea bun.
DD likes homemade pancakes with lemon & sugar.

M&S frozen croissants are our Sunday treat - they don’t need taking out the night before to ‘proove’and are simply gorgeous. In fact I could eat one now!!

I get the quick cook porridge oats that only take 1 minute in a pan with milk to make. Put different toppings on like maple syrup, berries, banana, nuts and seeds, cinnamon, Nutella etc.

Greek yogurt with berries and seeds is tasty too and really high in protein.

tomhazard · 14/08/2018 18:07

Greek yoghurt with a banana

Moominfan · 14/08/2018 18:13

Protein shake for really lazy days
Scrambled eggs made day before eaten cold
Banana
Protein bar
Porridge
Granola but try to avoid cereals it's a treat food

WooYa · 14/08/2018 18:13

Toffee yogurt and muesli (slimming world Sad) it tastes like muller corner tho Grin

Seniorschoolmum · 14/08/2018 18:14

Coffee & a banana

Whatsthisbear · 14/08/2018 18:15

Greek yogurt topped with a handful of nuts & seeds and a coffee.

mamaduckbone · 14/08/2018 18:15

-Greek yoghurt, fruit and granola
-Sliced apple and crunchy peanut butter
-Porridge with fruit
-poached eggs and spinach

tldr · 14/08/2018 18:53

Thanks for these. Should have probably also said ‘not yogurt’ too - it makes me a bit boaky in the morning, though can eat it later, weirdly.

At the minute a banana plus something is looking like it might be my way forward. Slice of ham of handful of granola maybe.

I used to always have (home-made) soup but making it in advance was a total pita and I’d run out.

Smoked salmon and cream cheese on ryvita.

Salmon fillet with cold rice, both cooked the night before. If I’m feeling wild I might poach an egg and dump it on the rice.

notumbongo I’m liking your decadence. 😀

Soup for breakfast?! What kind?

Grumpbum123 · 14/08/2018 18:57

Slice of ham
Babybel
Banana

NotUmbongoUnchained · 14/08/2018 18:58

Seafood soup for breakfast 🤤
Also with a wild egg 😂

TrappedByATurtle · 14/08/2018 18:59

4 slices of brown toast and marmalade. Pot of tea.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 14/08/2018 19:00

Crackers and cheese, crackers and pate, sometimes some fruit. I never really feel like breakfast so it has to be something tasty and never before about 9.30.

NoelHeadbands · 14/08/2018 19:00

Turkey bacon and scrambled eggs.

I can do this in the time it takes to make my morning coffee.

Or I make a protein shake the night before and just whizz it with ice in the morning

Yokatsu · 14/08/2018 19:02

Egg(s) touch of milk and cheese scrambled in a cup in the microwave, served in a tortilla wrap.

butlerswharf · 14/08/2018 19:04

Porridge with fruit. Takes exactly 2 minutes in the microwave.

ch0c0milkrox · 14/08/2018 19:04

Waffles

tldr · 14/08/2018 19:06

peppermint just whatever I had made. Usually just straight up veggie soup - carrot or cauliflower or broccoli with onions.

It started when I was following slimming world in the old days so I could have a ‘free’ breakfast that didn’t commit me too early in the day to red or green days. If I was prepared to commit to a green day I could go a bit mad and make scotch broth or similar.

But by the time I’ve fed everyone in the evening now, I’m not about to start cooking soup - I’ve got important sitting down to do — but I’m stuck in a toast rut and it makes me feel terrible.

noel can you tell me more about your protein shakes?

I have a bit of prep time in the morning - I usually eat in peace once DC are at school.
