Made myself a coffee and now back in bed which is s great start!
OH is on call with work, I can hear him on his phone in the kitchen, that's OK, he's not a medic , so now that he is up we may get out to Tesco for 8am to do the shopping.
DS went out yesterday and is not back yet, and I have to work a bit today ( I work from home)
OH will cook whatever we fancy, maybe a pot roast.

What are you up to today?

The DC woke up at about 8.45 so DH got up with them and I'm still in bed. He's doing the surface tidy ahead of a house viewing here later; I'll get up and do a 'deep tidy' in a minute.

Got my DDad and stepmum coming for lunch this afternoon so at some point I have to work out what to cook and actually buy and cook it. Then they are very kindly taking the DDs off my hands for three whole days so we're going to the cinema this evening and just spending loads of time doing whatever we want. Bliss! I'm so excited...

Secretsquirrel101 · 12/08/2018 09:30

I am hungover... to death! Was out last night with DP and we both got wrecked. Currently lying in bed with a chronic case of the fear while he snores away, the fear is the worst!! Got a food shop being delivered between 11 and 12, but I think the rest of the day will be somewhat of a write off.

Cyclingpast · 12/08/2018 09:33

Just on mumsnet until it's time to go to church :-)

SaucepanMan26 · 12/08/2018 09:33

Currently sat outside with coffee while the dog runs round like a mad thing!
Dp is at work, ds is still sleeping as he was up half the night playing ps and dd is playing on the tablet. I'm going to go for a ahower and get dressed in a minute, not sure why as I have absolutely zero planned for the day Hmm

carbuncleonapigsposterior · 12/08/2018 09:33

I'm having a quiet day having looked after my two young grandchildren for much of Friday and Saturday, a joy but tiring. My husband is making me my second cup of coffee of the day right now We will go to Waitrose in an hour or so and do a bit of shopping, pick up The Sunday Times and spend quite a while reading that. Might make a Shepherd's Pie for our evening meal a bit later on.

SeaViewBliss · 12/08/2018 09:34

I’m in a tent with DS (13) and his friend. Arrived yesterday.

We’re going swimming shortly then a trip to the supermarket.

This afternoon will be book and beer while they go off to play footie/pool/pester me for money!

BathmatOfDoom · 12/08/2018 09:35

Still in bed although we've had two cups of tea. DH going back to sleep. DS and DD pottering in kitchen. I've just seen it's started raining, so much for my big washing plans (I gutted DD's room yesterday and discovered some horrors). I need to clean the kitchen and get ready for my sister coming for brunch. Then get ready for going back to work tomorrow.

CherryPlum · 12/08/2018 09:44

I'm still in bed, reading a cookbook and just had a second cup of tea, DC are watching tv.

Might take DD1 to buy school shoes later while DP cooks a roast.

crosser62 · 12/08/2018 09:44

On a night shift tonight.
Woken up numerous times all night by little ds who wet his bed then wet mine...very very unusual but went to bed later than usual last night.
Then he "whispered " in my ear "moooomy, it's time to get up and play with Lego" at 7 so up I got.

Sigh.

I'm telling dh to take him out today so I can try and get some sleep because if I'm up all day, by 4am in the morning I will be a mess.
But have loads of housework to do today.
Sometimes it's hard to get through a day/night without feeling like death.

Justanotheruser01 · 12/08/2018 09:46

Were still snuggled up with the dog in bed, going to make egg sandwiches and 'fancy' coffees. Were watching rubbishy tv and im researching a shopping list for our upcoming trip to the states, wondering if i can do a week on hand luggage allowence so ive got my 23kg case for shopping! Rest of the day hopefully the gym at some point, and will be going out for a drive in my new car :-)

ChristinaMarlowe · 12/08/2018 10:04

Up at 3am to take MIL to the airport, she's stayed with us for 10 days and went home today. Got home at 8.45 and made a mini fry up, now suffering watching MOTD with DH having just dried a wet cat. Good times 😊

BarbedBloom · 12/08/2018 10:12

Made Keto pancakes for breakfast. About to start making chicken noodle soup and also some breakfast muffins to grab during the week. Once that is done we are going to watch some more Channel Zero and have a lazy day

borntobequiet · 12/08/2018 10:14

Big cup of milky espresso coffee (stove top maker) with Nutella on toast for breakfast in bed, not a good combination with clean sheets...alternate Mumsnet and rereading first of the Alphabet mysteries (Sue Grafton) until can be bothered to get up and go to gym...this afternoon may do housework or may not, depends on how I feel (have two days leave Mon and Tue so can put off till then).
Often look after grandchildren at weekends so make the most of the lazy ones!

Surely everyone's honest answer is 'I'm pissing about on Mumsnet'. : )

Queenofthedrivensnow · 12/08/2018 10:16

I'm down at the caravan with my dds and my friends ds. They are 8 and under. The rain has finally stopped so we are heading down to coverack to do the pisky trail with the dog. I might see what's on at the flicks in Penzance tonight.
But I'm drinking coffee right now and watching the kids play with the city they have constructed from a marble run, assorted McDonald's toys and any old crap they have found at the van!

Astrid2 · 12/08/2018 10:18

Got up with 4 month old DD at 7 to let DH have a lie in. He was working late last night. We've had a little play, and I had coffee and granola. She's been asleep on me for the last hour and a bit so I did the Tesco shop on my phone.

When DH gets up, will make him go out and get us something for brunch, then a lazy day watching movies I think. He's working late again tonight. Heavy rain all day so won't be going far. Making a sausage casserole later to use up all the veg before Tesco arrives tomorrow morning.

speakout · 12/08/2018 10:18

Surely everyone's honest answer is 'I'm pissing about on Mumsnet'. : )

Not really.

I have been to Ikea for breakfast, Sainsburys for shopping, taken my mother to church, now back home for a 10 minute internet browse before launching into work.

testingmitb · 12/08/2018 10:19

Clearing up after this year's street party. It was held at ours so this morning I woke to a scene of devastation. Those who are up have since cleared away all the cans and bottles, candles, food, chairs and tables. The marquee is partially dismantled but it's started to piss it down again.

Party finished at 6am, I went to bed about 2am and got up at 7am. So as you might expect, I'm doing bugger all today. Children will have left over lasagne and salad for dinner, and after staying up til midnight, will hopefully fall into bed about 7pm. I will follow at precisely 7.30pm Grin

Happy Sunday!

goose1964 · 12/08/2018 10:22

recovering from yesterday, 30th wedding anniversary trip to Worcester, think I'm still squiffy

BestIsWest · 12/08/2018 10:26

Lazy morning reading with lots of tea.

Will take dogs for a walk in an hour or so.

DD is home for the weekend so will probably take her for coffee before she gets her train.

Will probably make some kind of casserole for tea.

Fake or Fortune tonight - love that programme.

Kaykay06 · 12/08/2018 10:35

After a very busy long shift yesterday picked the kids up on my way home neither was up for going to sleep so fell asleep in my bed with the lamp on, so I got hardly any sleep, up at 9 with my 8 year old cuppa and crappy Sunday tv as it’s pourIng with rain here, got loads to do today but just can’t be bothered 😕

applecatchers36 · 12/08/2018 10:39

DD woke at 6.30 so early start. Had breakfast together and decorated a cake we baked yesterday.
Neighbour came round with a toy her kids had outgrown to donate to ours. Just mnetting before heading out to Sunday school.

MrsMotherHen · 12/08/2018 10:42

When DD wakes going to prep sunday roast today we are having chicken dinner served inside a gaint yorkshire pud!

Then off too an afternoon carboot to return to cook dinner and scoff.

Justwaitingforaline · 12/08/2018 10:43

DD stayed at her dads for the first time in weeks last night, so I’m still in bed, face mask on and cup of tea in hand. DH is at work so I’m sat right in the middle, getting my mum set fix and debating making myself a sausage sandwich for breakfast.

It is blissful.
