...where would it be? I’m fantasy house shopping so money is no object. I’ve got about ten billion pretend pounds (about three real pounds).

Alnmouth (I identified my house 20 years ago) or doneefere very remote on the NW coast of Scotland - Mallaig, Ullapool -that kind of direction.

notsogoodhousekeeping · 12/08/2018 08:29

West coast of Scotland, probably Argyll, but somewhere where the sea lochs rise up into the hills. Good storms to watch in winter.

ApolloandDaphne · 12/08/2018 08:40

I already live in my perfect coastal town. I am in St Andrews in Fife with the whole of the East Neuk on my doorstep. I am very lucky.

Minniemountain · 12/08/2018 08:47

Snap frazzled3ds. I moved away due to jobs but would love to come back some day. Where are you?

WerewolvesNotSwearwolves · 12/08/2018 08:50

I’ve lived near the coast and agree, it can be a bit bleak in winter, especially if it’s the sort of place that’s so geared towards tourists.

Dartmouth area possibly. But I live near the coast now and I like Chichester and surrounding areas- all of them!

Belindabelle · 12/08/2018 08:57

We have a holiday home in the East Neuk just down the road from St Andrews. As soon as the children have flown and we can pack in/ downscale our jobs we will sell up and move there permanently.

watsmyname · 12/08/2018 08:58

Has anyone commented the same place as they already live?

princesstiasmum · 12/08/2018 08:58

I already live in a beautiful place on the East Yorkshire coast,

HolyMountain · 12/08/2018 08:59

Alnmouth in Northumberland, my favourite place , I just love it up there.

frazzled3ds · 12/08/2018 09:35

I live roughly 5 miles away from Tenby, similar distance from Pembroke. Whilst I'm not right on the coast I do have the bonus of a castle and pleasant mill pond walk nearby :)

AdaColeman · 12/08/2018 09:42

Tynemouth.

Minniemountain · 12/08/2018 15:33

frazzled3ds my DF lives in Stepaside, though I grew up in the north.
My near the sea place would be between St Davids and Fishguard in Pembrokeshire.

frazzled3ds · 12/08/2018 15:40

Minnie I know stepaside, drove through there the other day :) the north of the county does have a more breathtaking scenery, I'd head that way too given a chance.

Fatbelliedgirl · 12/08/2018 16:09

**TitsalinaBumSquash

Not Chichester@Fatbelliedgirl, I've been here 30 years now and it's rapidly going downhill.

Cornwall for me.**

That is a shame Titsalina - Chichester and the city was always a very lovely area, used to love Bosham, Itchenor etc.

EastMidsGPs · 12/08/2018 17:04

Weybourne North Norfolk or a bit further up the coast. Anywhere around there.

Originally from N Norfolk but have somehow found myself in landlocked EastMids😞😞

Sadik · 12/08/2018 17:11

I live in pembs (& can see the sea from my house) and it is the best place I've ever lived, I hope never to move. August is a bit manic (though good for the shops of course) but other than that it is basically perfect :) :)

Somewhere in the West Country would be nice, preferably north Devon. I visited Ilfracombe and Barnstaple a few years ago. It was lovely.

Bowlofbabelfish · 12/08/2018 17:23

Lewis or Harris. West coast thereof.

juneau · 12/08/2018 17:28

Jurassic coast for me too - I just love Dorset. Burton Bradstock/Hive Beach would be my first choice, I think.

Minniemountain · 12/08/2018 19:12

Sadik I'm getting jealous now. The yearning to return grows stronger by the year.
Mind you, DB moved inland from St Davids as it got too busy.

AuntieStella · 12/08/2018 19:16

Jersey

And I think I know which house it is I want

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 12/08/2018 19:17

Borth
