Serious question.
If you eat peanut butter on toast... do you use regular butter too?

I cool my toast so the toppings don't ooze. Then butter, add raspberry jam, PB and a scatter of sea salt. Heaven.

I cool my toast

Confused
FeedMeAndTellMeImPretty · 27/07/2017 22:11

Nutella is the only thing I don't have butter with. PB definitely - think it's for the extra saltiness so maybe I should just add salt like PPs. My fave sandwich as a kid was PB, cheddar and iceberg lettuce. Yum.

Littlefish · 27/07/2017 22:11

Put marmite straight on the toast and then add peanut butter on the top.

Absolutely delicious, and stops the peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth.

Peanut butter on bread = no butter
Nutella on bread = no butter
Nutella on toast = no butter
Peanut butter on toast = butter

My fave sandwich as a kid was PB, cheddar and iceberg lettuce. Yum.

My favourite was grated mature cheddar plus salted peanuts and a bit of salad cream to hold them together. Might have to try the PB / Cheddar combo.

Coffee- but cold toast dries out and goes rock hard like a cracker. Each to their own of course, but long is it since you've had hot toast? I think you've forgotten how good hot toast is Smile

Oh the toast needs to be warm. But not hot. Hot buttered toast, yes. Any additional toppings need a cooler (but not cold) base to minimise slippage!

I never put butter on bread for a sandwich.

FruitBadger · 29/07/2017 18:58

Yes to butter with PB, Nutella and cream cheese.

Would never butter an iced bun though, that's just weird Wink

livelyredjellybean · 30/07/2017 15:50

Hell no, never butter before peanut butter!

Peanut butter and Nutella together, tho.... lush!
