They sort of are starting to film Sherlock and were setting up today in Bristol so I went along to have a look. Not much happening.

I think she was thinking what most of us are thinking. I'm really torn about the whole Sophie thing. On the one hand, I'm happy that he's found someone whom he wants to marry, and who doesn't want to wish Benedict a lifetime of happiness?

On the other hand, my gut says that something is off. Maybe it's because I was fed a steady diet of Disney flicks and fairy tales when I was younger, but it seems to me that, I don't know, there should be a proper courtship. And from all we know (which, to be fair, really is fuck all), they only began dating less than a year ago (referencing, of course, that awful comment from Benedict about being in LA and 'punching above his weight' -- which, upon Googling, is actually from 2012). Really? OK, it's really none of my Business - and a uni classmate's parents got engaged after knowing each other all of 24 hours (it was one of those "I'm leaving for Country X tomorrow, let's get hitched" type things), and THEY were married for over 40 years when she passed away. And photos can lie. But... aw hell, I'm probably just disappointed that my little FantasyLand has got a hiccup. (But I won't lie. I want to make a quilt out of that dress she wore in Palm Springs.)

I think dating in your late 30s, things do happen more quickly - they know who they are and what they want, and if it's children they need to crack on. And they've known each other for quite a while.

To me, they look like 2 people who are not happy with their relationship being under such intense scrutiny so in public are holding it back. God knows what it must have been like outside their front doors when it got announced - if Stephen Fry's got a few journos outside his door today, Benedict must have had a streetful. And he quite often looks very reserved at functions anyway (which is why I don't really like many of the red carpet pics of him, he's always looked a bit stuffed-shirt).

Anyhoo. Sherlock and Benedict are up for National Television Awards so get voting!

Ok I can't contain myself any longer. I've clearly been reading too much of the sophiehuntergossipblog but I am beginning to think the relationship is indeed for PR purposes.

It may have been real originally and I really tried to keep an open mind but I don't think SH and Benedict are in love at all - in fact I am not sure he even likes her.

His face lights up around Keira and his work colleagues and even some of his fans but when he is pictured with her he looks downright miserable. I think he doesn't really want to be involved in this PR campaign or didn't want it to go this far.

There are photos of him on the red carpet with OP and AJ where he is smiling and being affectionate. There are photos of him hugging and being affectionate with others at these events but not with SH.

I know we can never truly know what is going on here but my gut and my eyes are telling me that it isn't real.

We all want Benedict to be happy and be with someone that he is deeply in love with but I don't think he is in love with Sophie at all.

Either that or she is pregnant but I am on the fence with that one. To be honest I wish she'd bugger off - I feel I am losing respect for him abit now.

Ok glad that's of my chest even if it may be an unpopular opinion. :)

oooh yes vegan chocolate is yummy! I work in a vegan cafe I can definitely get hold of that.

In other news... Holy cannoli, Batman, Alexa Ray Joel looks EXACTLY like her father. Except with boobs. And long hair.

I think that something is up, something that I can't put my finger on, although her being pregnant would make sense.

Some one on that blog has traced his movement and she didn't show up until May. I went to hay and had tickets for the Friday when she read.

He was with another lady, blonde, start of the year. Unless that was a diversion.

I think when you are over 30 you are aware of what you want. My sil was married within a year of meeting. We call her the future ex mrs, but they are still married.

One thing though children are a great divider. You need to be sure that you know your husband because it's bloody hard to have children. Even with staff.

Ummm yes pregnancy would explain it absolutely.
I just hope that if that is the case they are in love and aren't marrying purely because of the baby because like you say HRH raising children is hard work at the best of times.

I can understand that some people do know that they want to marry someone quite early on. I did with my husband. It is more the lack of affection in the photos and Benedict looking miserable that has made me suspicious.

The photo that Green has linked too is the only one I've seen where he isn't looking miserable with her IMHO

I did laugh when he called her a tool in that interview though.

Like I said, I have read way too much of that blog. It is very unlike me - apart from rather liking Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan I am never normally bothered by celebrities and never read the news/ magazines or watch the news. Even as a teen I never had crushes on celebrities. So all this makes me feel like I have regressed back to being 15 again!

HRH, I know what you mean, but for me it's the eyes. She seems (for the most part) to waffle between being pleased and pained, whereas he seems to go back and forth between can-we-get-this-over-with-please and oh-hi-how-are-you-way-back-over-there. I know photos can be terribly deceiving, depending on which split second is captured. But what we've been seeing/what we've been shown lacks that spark or even basic warmth that most people seem to have when they've gotten engaged. I can understand that he (at least) is very busy at the moment, and I'd hate for them to shoehorn a wedding in "just to get it over with". I don't want it to sound like I'm lobbying for excessive PDA, and I am fighting with myself after reading some reports that this whole thing is a sham from the Weinstein Brothers to push BC's Oscar chances, because I think that's bullshit. That film will either win or lose because of its caliber. I don't think the members of the Academy are the same people who vote "Sexiest Hamster Alive".

Yes, they've known each other for ages, having worked together in 2009. Does anyone really know (or will tell) exactly how well they know each other? (Again, not that my opinion or interest matters an iota). Was she in his circle of friends already? A friend of a friend? Back in 2009 he was seeing Olivia, and I wonder how well he "was allowed" to get to know members of the opposite sex. (And no, I haven't seen that film they're in.)

Any yes, HRH, I am ITA that kids are hard work, with or without staff. I can't imagine Benedict entering into parenthood knowing at the get-go that things are rocky.

Green I thought Katia What's her Name thing was over by then? At the Monaco Grand Prix he was walking in front of Lady Kinvara who is also blonde. There seems to be no evidence that they were an item though. No idea.

Kinvara was in Malaysia with him and Adam earlier in the year and was seen at other events too.

Yes Sudename he is very busy. I believe he is meant to be going to a fashion show on Friday too. To be honest I don't know how he manages that kind of schedule. It would half kill me I think.
