For the next month we're running a fabulous competition with Random House Children's books in celebration of the imminent royal arrival.

If you were a fan of The Queen's Knickers, then you will love Nicholas Allan's latest The Royal Nappy. Nicholas has kindly drawn up a template of the royal nappy that we want your dcs to adorn. Simply download the Design your own Royal Nappy template and get your child to create a stately nappy design. Then take a photo of the design and upload it to this thread. The comp is open until Friday 16th August and we'll announce the winner of £100 Mothercare voucher the following week.

Find out more about The Royal Nappy, access the template and other royal-arrival-themed activities that your dcs can enjoy over the summer holidays.

Each of my little ones wanted to design a royal nappy: Here is J's design - lots of jewels to protect the Prince's crown jewels.

Hopezibah · 30/07/2013 22:05

Here is my middle son's design - colourful rainbows and patterns and shapes ...swirls, stars and flowers.

and finally my baby girl had a go. We've called her design "pom poms and pinkies" as she used pink pom poms and pink finger paint and did finger prints with her fingers (pinkies!). In her defence, she did do this BEFORE the new baby prince was born. But who said pink was just for girls anyway? x

ds aged 7. To the point really!

Nerfmother · 31/07/2013 18:24

Ds age 5 designed this. His brother has unwittingly come up with a republican nappy. Might post if feeling brave!

Royal Nappy with boyish stripes, a crown and jewels by Grace aged 5.

This is 'Baby Bunting' by my six year old daughter. He has a little crown instead of a safety pin, to hold his nappy together.

My 10 year old daughter has designed a lovely royal baby nappy. By Maddy aged 10.

My 2yr old's red, white and blue pom pom nappy creation - she heard there'd be lots of Pompom Ceremony! :-D

Spirael · 04/08/2013 15:10

The royal nappy by Mindy, who is (just) 3 years old.

She went for a historically accurate pink (It used to be the colour of choice for boys in Victorian times! Wink) and even gave the newborn prince some jaundice for added realism...

Spirael · 04/08/2013 15:10

Take 2...

Spirael · 04/08/2013 15:11

Ahah, seemed to work that time. :) Apparently it doesn't like you previewing when posting a picture!
