New thread for the premiere of the new film. Hope it's okay Grin

Excited for Friday's Graham Norton show!

Going to message my friend about booking tickets for next Friday.

OP posts:
HRHwheezing · 08/02/2014 13:45

cumberlover I'm not that far from you, I'm in Bristol so Solihull wouldn't have. Been too much of a stretch. I lived in Solihull for 5 years so I know it quite well.

I'm thinking of an afternoon in the cinema on my own, can't decide which of his films to watch.

I'll look later at the podcast

FrankelInFoal · 08/02/2014 14:43

For those looking for more of a BC fix, I can highly recommend the radio dramatisation of Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. It's got lots of great actors in it (James Mcavoy, Bernard Cribbins, Christopher Lee, Sophie Okenedo, Antony Head, etc). BC plays the Angel Islington.

Cumberlover76 · 08/02/2014 15:37

I tried to find that to listen to the other day Frankel but it's not available on BBC anymore.

Just made let DD watch Counterbatch. I she loved it.

FrankelInFoal · 08/02/2014 15:40

You can buy it here, though I know freebies are better! Someone might have put it on YouTube.

Cumberlover76 · 08/02/2014 16:07

I've found eps 2-5 on soundcloud so just need to find episode 1.

Cumberlover76 · 08/02/2014 16:30

Have you seen the Mean Tweets? Oh though why the yanks have to bleep out the word 'dick' escapes me. We're way more liberal with swearing on TV here aren't we?

SciFiFan · 08/02/2014 16:37

BCs mean tweet is soo funny, I agree the deleting of dick was a bit daft. Thanks for the feedback on the film, I don't normally go in for 'emotional' films it's purely a Cumberbatch thing. I'll let you know what it's like.

Just discovering other things he's done, I've always watched Sherlock but never seen the attraction before. Now I've started I'm becoming somewhat obsessed, particularly with the Sherlolly fan fiction Grin.

Cumberlover76 · 08/02/2014 16:49

Parade's End is great SciFi and is also his favourite character that he's played. Have you seen Star Trek? Khan is pretty hot. I've not read much of the Sherlolly stuff, I will check it out.

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 08/02/2014 16:50

We Yanks are schizophrenic when it comes to profanity (and sex, but you all knew that). The late comic George Carlin had a Grammy-winning sketch about the "Seven Dirty Words You Can't Say On Television". I loved his observation that we seem to readily accept violence, but not sex, and then went on to take old movie clichés and replace the word "kill" with "fuck". It was hilarious, and that in 1972.

I swear like a sailor when DH and the kids aren't around, but I am also very aware of my audience. I try not to do it if I don't know the other person's attitude towards swearing.

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 08/02/2014 16:52

Reading about Benedict in Helsinki just makes me think of that Cabin Pressure episode.

Now I want chocolate cake.

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 08/02/2014 16:54

Cumberlover, I've read a fair amount of Sherlolly fanfic. Sustain or Concerto for the Famished is my favourite, does get (ahem) smutty in parts. But it's well-written smut, IMHO.

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 08/02/2014 21:48

Has anyone got any ideas for the next BCAS thread title?

FrankelInFoal · 08/02/2014 22:29

I think it should probably reference The Imitation Game, seeing as that'll probably be the next big project, that or Hamlet but I can't think if a way to work Hamlet into a title!

What about: The BCAS: Accept No Imitations Grin

SciFiFan · 08/02/2014 22:53

Ooh I like that Frankel.

Cumberlover would you believe I watched Star Trek at Christmas in my pre-obsession days and nada, no attraction, nothing. Now, however I think I'd be drooling Grin. Just need to come up with a reason, for my DH, as to why we should watch it again so quickly. He is used to me getting obsessions but there would be lots of eye rolling. Plus I've bought the Sherlock S1 & 2 DVD for us to watch (cos they're good and it's been years since we saw them - at least that's what I told DH Blush) he'll put off watching them if he thinks it's just me leering at BC.

CoolItKittens · 09/02/2014 01:09

Just stumbled across this on youtube. Enjoy!

FrankelInFoal · 09/02/2014 11:13

Love the fact he was in Helsinki, I hope it was nice and twinkly and not like a sink in Hell Wink

CoolItKittens · 09/02/2014 11:20

I follow someone on Twitter who has met him at the Elementary convention this morning! Think she's meeting him again later for the autograph session. I am not jealous, no, definitely not... Envy

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 09/02/2014 13:57

Aaaand...my mind goes straight to the gutter.

Cumberlover76 · 09/02/2014 14:23

I've seen some of those photos people have been tweeting of themselves with Benedict at the Elementary convention, the background they use is awful, you'd think they'd use something a bit better or Sherlocky! It makes them look really tacky, although he's looking pretty gorge today.

I think if I was going to have the opportunity to meet him and get a pic, I would prefer it to be something more random than paying to be in a big line to take my turn, seems a bit weird and impersonal, but hey I may change my mind if the opp came up.

HRHwheezing · 09/02/2014 15:04

cumberlover I'm with you. I'm bloody jealous of all the tweets today. He sounds lovely too as well as fuck me gorgeous.
But looks a bit weird and impersonal.

Me and you next time yeah?!

Cumberlover76 · 09/02/2014 17:25

Yes HRH , we will see when the Sherlocked convention is. When I get to see him pop playing Hamlet then I will be embarrassing DH stalking the stage door, tracking him down somehow. I reckon the Sherlocked convention will be better.

Yeah def jealous of the people that have met him, but some are proper obsessed, like the woman that does drawings of him and got him to sign them. I've got an obsession going on, but happy just to perv! I think that if I was at the convention I'd probably end up getting hammered afternoon drinking, taking the piss and slurring some inappropriate proposition to BC! Perhaps you should have second thoughts HRH!

He does sound that he's soooo lovely though. I'm off to catch up with some friends in a few weeks, in Briz in fact, and one of them has met him whilst working on Sherlock and I so will be grilling her. I didn't have my full blown Benaddiction when she told me about it a couple years ago.

FrankelInFoal · 09/02/2014 20:11

Benedict at Elementary

HRHwheezing · 09/02/2014 20:12

cumberlover I think drinking gin is the correct way actually to meet him. We must go, if op arises.
I saw David tennant in hamlet so I'd go to compare. As if.

I'm impressed by that girl that draws. But his mind must boggle and what he was given today.
I started listening to him reading Casanova last night. Oh my word. Actually it doesn't matter what he looks like. The voice is enough.

Ps pass the goss from your friend

Cumberlover76 · 09/02/2014 21:26

I'm more of a vodka gal HRH but I'd drink gin for Benedict. There are some interesting Sherlock cocktails around. I reckon afternoon cocktails would be the way to go!

I agree that the drawings are really good, but surely he must think such obsessiveness is a bit weird, even though he's too lovely to ever let on!

He looks gorgeous as ever at the convention Frankel, but you're right HRH the voice is enough.

Oh, like the new thread title.
