Morning. Have you ever been to Filey in North Yorkshire?

Last week totally bypassed me. I feel like I've been in a timewarp. The day job took over somewhat (I'm an accountant, so the accounts had to be done in three weeks!). But now I've met my deadline, I'm back on my blog and feeling much less stressed!

I've started this week with a call for help on behalf of a friend whose daughter is still, after 18 months, not happy about going to school.

My post is here, and includes the latest tactic she adopted to try and avoid going!

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks x

Flubba · 22/04/2012 11:47

Gosh that sounds tough yummymummy - I have no real advice so haven't commented, but I imagine doing what she's doing is right, but if it's really been every day for 18m, I personally would try the tactic of taking her out of school for a week and making it as dull as dishwater. No playdates, no games while at home, no tv etc. Homeschooling, but in the dullest sense of the word. As little attention as possible (without it being neglect!). Any time she complained, I'd say that the other option was school She had to make a choice. But I'm a harsh git Wink

It actually sounds like an interesting idea to me. If she got the agreement from school first I guess. I will suggest it.

Thanks Smile

What happened this morning was totally not my fault, not the sort of wedding panic which is healthy!

Hello All,
I have had a go at poetry. If I Could Hide on www.Mommysnotes-yaffa.blogspot.co.uk. It started off very nursery rhymish. Ya know those little simple rhymes that become pervasive to your daily thoughts and seem to influence the way you talk to others even if they are above the age of six. However, it is about when you just need a few moments of peace and you wish you could just disappear.

I wish I knew how to do a direct link to the post as I have seen with the above threads, any advice.

DillyTante · 22/04/2012 21:28

Hello all

Sorry, been a bit quiet on the forum front. But I've written a post about Men who craft.

singlemarriedmum · 22/04/2012 21:30

Hi Jill2, I'm no expert - but when you're on the post you want to link to, copy the web address in the browser address bar and paste it between - it shows you how to link just below the box as you're writing your message. When you've done it, preview the message and you'll be able to see if you've got it right. Hope that helps. Would love to see your poem. I've been writing a bit of poetry - it just sort of happened and I'm really enjoyed it.

DillyTante · 22/04/2012 21:31

Jill it's very simple to do links. Just type add your link, then a space, then the text you want to hyperlink, then close with

The instructions are next to the message box below.

Jill2 · 22/04/2012 22:05

Thanks for the advice. Will use it next time.
Singlemarriedmum I look forward to reading your poetry too. Poetry is a bit tricky, not sure what all the rules are. However, I do enjoy writing it.

singlemarriedmum · 22/04/2012 22:22

Not sure what the rules are either! Smile

When we moved to Canada it didn't take us long to realise, CAR IS KING here. Sunday 22nd was Earth Day. With all the media buzz about high profile acts of environmental protection, I thought it was time to see how eco-friendly is Canada?
