Happy Mother's Day - hope it's not presumptuous of me as a relative newbie to start this thread but I took time off from being frivolous in the kitchen to ponder something a little deeper on Mother's Day - have you heard of The Girl Effect?

mummyunderthekitchentable.blogspot.com/2012/03/my-boudior-experience.html I confess to getting naked and review the experience.

The classic that I am going to share with you this week was first broadcast in 1979. It is about a family who relocate to the countryside. Before they even reach their accommodation they meet a peculiar fellow who lives in a field. He is made of straw and he is famous for wanting 'A cup o' tea an a slice o' cake.' That's right! It's...

A recipe from last weekend's Celebration Sunday: Yorkiflette Chicken A. MAZE. ING. If I do say so myself.

SophRunning I can't comment on your blog as you don't have the Name/URL option but I wanted to say how delighted I am you have your Statement. We are starting to apply for one with DS. I don't think he'll get one, but it's worth a try.

donttrythisathome · 22/03/2012 14:55

Hi everyone.
Catching up...
Here is my latest happy second birthday

MmeGuillotine · 22/03/2012 14:59

I went to the press preview of the newly refurbished Kensington Palace yesterday and ran around taking photographs like a mad thing. :)

SophRunning · 22/03/2012 15:18

Baroness Five thank you very much! I'm so touched by the number of people that have been following our travails and sending support. Five good luck with your application. You must go into it ready for a long fight and with the absolute determination to get one. Don't let yourself think about failure!

SophRunning · 22/03/2012 15:19

Sorry, that should have been Baroness AND Five ..

trulymyrtle · 22/03/2012 20:14

I got LLL membership for Mother's Day so on Monday I blogged about how fathers can get involved in breastfeeding.

Then I went to a sling meet on Wednesday and finally conquered my woven wrap.

And today I'm giving away a personalised baby bunny toy so cute it's destined to raise your oxytocin levels.

Off to check out a few of you.

STILL recovering from having my sister to stay with her 1 and 3 year old boys. Exhausting! Like trying to catch a pair of eels....

But do things really get easier after this stage?
Does older = easier? Or is that just wishful thinking?

FiveHoursSleep · 23/03/2012 10:01

Today could go either way

Nominations for the Bib's (the Britmums Brilliance in Blogging awards) have now closed. I know this is the first time I've mentioned it. Even though there was a Fresh Voices category, I didn't think that my lil' ol' blog was ready. Now I think that I was silly not to try. To even be considered for an award would be amazing!

Crumbymummy do you want to learn how to make links or are you not bothered?
you put the thing you want linked in two sets of square brackets, so
http://www.thecrumbymummy.co.uk/?p=752
but no spaces. That way you can just click through. otherwsie tick 'convert links automatically'.
It will increase the chance of people reading your blog, I promise!

In praise of the frivolous plastic nonsense that comes from IKEA:

Saying It With Fake Flowers

They may be naff, but I love 'em! Or am I just getting old before my time?!
