Hope this meets with your approval. It was getting a bit full on the other thread so we've extended and now need to decorate the new space.

For the walls.

Thanks for that, Claraschu. Seriously brightened up my morning! That voice..... And so modest about his extreme hotness.

CaveMum · 20/03/2012 08:09

We're starting to head towards the end of this thread! Who's up for starting the new one? Don't forget the rules:

Must contain the words "Benedict Cumberbatch Appreciation Society"
Must contain a reference to one of his films/tv shows/radio shows
Must not (under any circumstances) contain the word "Cumberbitch"

No need to start a new one yet, we've got a good few days left on this thread yet, but get your thinking caps on!

LetUsPrey · 20/03/2012 08:21

Was just thinking the same thing CaveMum (well, amongst other things! Wink).

Great minds and whatnot.

How about:

The Benedict Cumberbatch Appreciation Society: Never Mind Parade's End, When Will It Begin???

You may be able to tell that I'm feeling the lack of new Benedict material at the moment. After the Sherlock/Tinker Tailor/repeat of HIGNFY earlier this year it's gone miserably quiet.

CaveMum · 20/03/2012 10:23

Sounds like a good one Clarice.

There might be more Star Trek pictures or maybe Hobbit news soon [crosses fingers]

John Finnemore must be starting work on Cabin Pressure 4 soon(ish) as he's trying out material for his other show in the next couple of weeks.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 20/03/2012 10:25

I suppose I could go to see War Horse, but a) he's got a silly moustache b) it's very very long and is also c) probably a Spielberg saccharine-fest. You'll all Shock at me if I say I don't own DVDs of Third Star or Wreckers and don't feel like watching Sherlock again, but it's true!

claraschu · 20/03/2012 10:43

I'm SO glad you liked the interview holmessweetholmes. Did you hear the second part too (I know it's quite long)? There are some FANTASTIC moments.

holmessweetholmes · 20/03/2012 11:19

Yes, claraschu - it's quite adorable. I listened to it twice, once straight after the other! LadyClarice, I know what you mean - can't believe it's so long to wait until Parade's End, Star Trek etc. I haven't had enough of Sherlock yet though (as if!) and have taken to watching selected excerpts when I have some time to myself. Flicked through highlights of Scandal in Belgravia (again) the other day. Still can't get enough of the 'I took your pulse' bit. Or the headbutting the American bit. And of course the scene at the palace. Mmmmm.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 20/03/2012 12:27

I've seen ASiB three times and the last episode twice, and I don't yet feel like revisiting them. I've only watched Hounds once though and it was a bit rubbish, so I could give that another go. The thing is, though, and I hate to say it, Benedict IMO was a bit off his game in Hounds.

I might treat myself to Third Star on DVD, even though I saw it twice at the cinema. That's not overkill, is it?

holmessweetholmes · 20/03/2012 12:34

Not overkill at all Grin. I haven't seen it yet - might have to get it to watch when dh is away.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 20/03/2012 12:37

I'm not proud of saying that, believe me. But it IS true.

Third Star is lovely. Quite apart from Benedict looking all pale and gaunt and interesting, his performance and the ensemble acting are terrific. I'll go on record as saying that JJ Feild's performance is almost as good as Benedict's.

He's not nearly as hot, though, obvieusement. Smile

holmessweetholmes · 20/03/2012 12:49

Well, tbh, I think I have probably lost all capacity for objective, intelligent analysis of anything BC is in. I do recall thinking at the time that some episodes were not as good as others, but when I watch them now, I find it hard to think of anything but.... well, you know Wink.

LetUsPrey · 20/03/2012 13:12

Objective analysis? What's that then? Grin

He is genuinely excellent in everything though isn't he? As well as being hotter than a hot thing in a hot country that's having an exceedingly hot spell in the middle of a very hot summer.

Hope Cabin Pressure 4 will be on its way soon.

Love the thread title suggestion! I came up with The Benedict Cumberbatch Appreciation Society: Feeling the Cabin Pressure - This week: MUMSNET!

I'll save that one for a future thread because I've already had a turn. Smile

holmessweetholmes · 20/03/2012 13:19

Ok, glad it's not just me then, LetUsPrey Grin. I'm rubbish at thinking of thread titles, but maybe something ending with 'The game is on!'? I like yours too - I haven't actually got round to listening to Cabin Pressure yet - where can I find it?

LetUsPrey · 20/03/2012 13:37

I downloaded three full series of Cabin Pressure and the Christmas special off a site that used to be BBC Books or BBC Audiobooks (I think). It's something like audiogo. You can get them off iTunes but I think they were a bit cheaper on audiogo. With audiogo though, I had to buy them on my pc and then download them into iTunes and then transfer them to my iPod. You can obviously listen to them via your pc.

Benedict's costing me a fortune so I was saving where I can!

OP posts:
CaveMum · 20/03/2012 13:39

Yup, I got the Cabin Pressure off Audio-thingy too.

Good idea re possible thread name Prey Grin

LetUsPrey · 20/03/2012 13:45

Here you go - audiogo

Why thank you CaveMum! I really must get back to work before it is discovered I am still on t'internet.

OP posts:
holmessweetholmes · 20/03/2012 14:39

Thank you! But eeeek - dh and I share the iPod. Could lead to some awkward questions!

claraschu · 20/03/2012 20:43

All of Cabin Pressure is on YouTube, if you're feeling skint. Is it immoral to listen on YouTube? (Sorry I didn't know.)
I had to post something, as I couldn't cope with this thread not being at the top of Sleb twaddle.

CaveMum · 20/03/2012 20:46

I am currently on the sofa, cat on my lap, glass of Wine in hand and watching for the umpteenth time A Study in Pink Grin

LetUsPrey · 20/03/2012 20:53

Completely forgot about it being on YouTube!

I need some kind of BC fix but won't get much of a chance tonight

OP posts:
CaveMum · 20/03/2012 21:36

Boooo! No Cumberbatch for Dr Who Sad

I was having all kinds of lovely thoughts about Messrs Smith and Cumberbatch as well Grin

LetUsPrey · 20/03/2012 22:19

But we can still imagine him as The Master. I know I am can.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 21/03/2012 12:54

Had a bit of an odd dream last night. Sadly not featuring BC.

However, David Tennant was there. He must have been in Doctor mode because I had to somehow pass memories over to him but he couldn't do this in the usual Doctor way of holding the sides of my head.

No, I had to pass memories over by kissing him! We were near a wall so he was against the wall first. We kissed and strangely there was this sensation of information passing from my head to his! Then DT moved us round so I was against the wall and we kissed again. More information transfer.

Don't know if it has any similarity to real life, but DT is a very good kisser! I mean, he's not BC but I suppose it's a start.

Perhaps I'll move up to Matt Smith and then up again to BC? Wink

OP posts:
exexpat · 21/03/2012 12:58

Apparently Stephen Moffat is hinting at a fourth series of Sherlock, with BC keen to stay in it (they couldn't possibly change actors anyway, could they?) - and he's annoyed about the US version of Sherlock.

And I've just booked my Frankenstein ticket - unfortunately I can only make it to the one with BC as Frankenstein, not as the Creature. Who else has managed to get tickets?
