JoanneMallon gosh, I fulfil all the criteria for that job except I just really couldn't - too much English reserve I think! Not sure it would fit well with my children's publishing.

Anyway, it seems I'm Blog of the Week, woohoo! I blogged quickly about it:

hogsbackbooks.blogspot.com/2012/02/mn-fameat-last.html

Will try and blog every day this week to celebrate

Flubba · 02/02/2012 22:21

Sorry, not read other people's blogs this week yet as have been stitching and plotting and plotting and stitching. [http://madebyyourstruly.wordpress.com/2012/02/02/girls-shift-dress-with-zip-how-to-make-your-own-dress-with-zip-easy-and-free-tutorial/ This]] is the fruit of my labour ~ a little shift dress for one of my DDs. I'll need to get stitching for my other DD quickly so that there aren't any meltdowns! :)

I've blogged about the BBC1 Wonderland documentary 'My Child the Rioter'.

Counting down the hours before someone uses the words 'wishy washy liberal'.

Why I won't let my DD have her ears pierced

crapteacher · 03/02/2012 10:19

New post from crapteacher lays into the shambles that is the dreaded school play. Are you one of those eager parents who mouth forgotten lines in the front row? Shame on you. More fun to be had here:

Hello, I've actually posted a few this week (not sure what's happening there!)

Today's is The strangeness of time and trains

FiveHoursSleep · 03/02/2012 17:09

Staranise, I can't reply to your blog as your haven't checked the URL/Name option but I wanted to say that your post resonated with me as I am also 'fundamentally disorganised and also rather lazy'. I avoid making To Do lists and jot things down on an Organised Mum Lifebook, which allows me to just about lurch between disasters.

star anise. Excellent timing! I was feeling particularly disorganised and rubbish as a mother yesterday as it took my daughter to remind me she needed her spelling book for school (she is 5). She handed it to me. And I didn't manage to get it from my hand into her school bag. When I returned after the school run it was lying innocently on the floor by the sofa smirking at me. She was not happy.

Neither were in in-laws, who had no sympathy, and couldn't understand how I could forget things like that at all, despite having been working parents of two boys themselves. Apparently the solution is a batch of pieces of paper, labelled up with the days of the week, on which you write jobs due on that day, and throw the paper each night, transferring any undone jobs to the next day. Working a week at a time.

And where are you supposed to keep this batch of paper? The cutlery drawer apparently. Which is clever, but would only have helped me had I required a spoon between taking custody of spelling book and running out the front door!

Oooo...sorry about the rant! Feeling relieved I am not alone!

That was all supposed to be you comments page...but I couldn't get the URL option!

yummymummyreally · 04/02/2012 08:35

Crapteacher I keep wanting to check out your blog posts, and I am afraid I'll admit to laziness in that, if your link here isn't working I don't tend to remember to copy paste the link into my URL as I keep scrolling and then forget. I've noticed a few of your links aren't "clickable" on this thread. Are you remembering to pop double square brackets around the link? Check out the notes from MNHQ down the bottom of this thread and try previewing your message before posting to check if it works.

Sorry if you knew this already... Having read this back I sound a bit patronising and I don't mean to! Just wanting to make sure you don't loose potential readers! Blush
