Been trying out some new stuff in my kitchen recently. Featuring an old Indian royal recipe in my newest post.

Taar Korma

So what have all of you been up to this week?

Hah interesting question baroness

I often ask myself that in the context of my eldest son. I think his severe autism has shaped us and changed us enormously. Initially I saw severe autism as only a bad thing, but the impact it has had on us all has made me realise that it's actually neither good nor bad. At times it is difficult. But in many ways its impact has been good.

Hmm might borrow (and link to) your post sometime and write my answer that.

BaronessOrczy · 18/01/2012 13:46

You'd be very welcome to do that JimJams, no problem.

Its a difficult question when you sit and think about it. Which made it hard to write, because I didn't want to put what my regrets were. It would have been easier to talk about it in a specific context, like your son. As in many situations I am finding as I get older there really isn't an answer in terms of good / bad as new worlds and possibilities have opened up as a result of whatever the situation is. If that makes sense.

Let me know if you do blog on it as I'd be interested to read your take on it.

saintlyjimjams · 18/01/2012 14:29

I will do, and will let you know. Or you'll see anyway when I link! And yes that's the conclusion I reached really. Ds1 is what we thought was our worst possible case, severe autism didn't want to go there, non-verbal 12 year old - even post diagnosis didn't want to go there. And yet the world he's opened - and the severity of his autism has opened. Loads of people I would never have met, and (big one) I'd never have surfed Grin.

The world is full of sick people..

Afternoon all!

MummyBarrow · 19/01/2012 17:05

Afternoon.

Today's blog post is a review of French children don't throw food:

www.mummybarrow.com/2012/01/french-children-dont-throw-food/

Do take a look!

PetiteRaleuse · 19/01/2012 18:08

I have also talked a little about the French Children Don't Throw Food book. Though I haven't read it I am looking forward to it.

overmydeadbody · 19/01/2012 20:30

Dilly I like the idea of a craft swap! Smile

I have blogged today about my ambitious D.T projects with school children. I am quite worried about it actually, as I really don't think the children will be able to finish the project in the time we have been given!

overmydeadbody · 19/01/2012 20:35

MummyBarrow you have made me want to read that book! It sounds good. I grew up in Saudi Arabia incidentally, from the age of 6 till 16 Grin
