Been trying out some new stuff in my kitchen recently. Featuring an old Indian royal recipe in my newest post.

So what have all of you been up to this week?

OP posts:
CoffeeMummy · 16/01/2012 15:08

Popping on quick before the school run. My post today is in defiance of so-called Blue Monday

Will catch up with all your posts soon I hope!

overmydeadbody · 16/01/2012 16:45

cinnamonstix I love your blog!

overmydeadbody · 16/01/2012 16:49

I'm in a very Benedict-Cumberbatch kind of a mood this week. Here's my post about the experience of reading the entire Sherlock Holmes canon end-to-end in under a month and imagining Mr Cumberbatch and Mr Freeman in the title roles...

OutrageousFlavourLikeFreesias · 16/01/2012 17:44

Flubba, your quilt is gorgeous!

TheGoktor · 16/01/2012 18:08

icanyoucanwecan-blog.blogspot.com/2012/01/curvy-womenreal-womenoh-please.html

Because I am soooo sick of the 'curvy women' and 'real women' debate. Gahhh!

On a lighter note, overmydeadbody's post really made me smile!

Great tips, QueenMaeve - I definitely need to add a 'pin this' button (I have a Pinterest 'follow' button but it's not the same...duh!) Grin

TheGoktor · 16/01/2012 18:09

Oh bum...wrong formatting! Blush

DillyTante · 16/01/2012 19:10

Flubba your quilt is gorgeous. How long did it take?

DillyTante · 16/01/2012 19:13

I'm still on a crafting hiatus but I made this picture for a birthday before Xmas.

QueenMaeve · 16/01/2012 20:13

Glad they helped goktor. Dilly I'm the same haven't made a thing since before Christmas. That picture is gorgeous! You could totally sell those.

QueenMaeve · 16/01/2012 20:14

Flubba quilt is fabulous! Smile

DillyTante · 16/01/2012 20:16

Really, do you think so? I am thinking of building up to a Christmas craft fair. Maybe this is something I could have on it. I could do different sizes and colour themes.

singlemarriedmum · 16/01/2012 20:22

Flubba your quilt is beautiful and DillyTante I love the butterfly picture. It is very striking.

I've put some of my hand knits on today - hope you find them cheery!

Flubba · 16/01/2012 20:22

Thank you all - I started on it just before New Year Dilly and have probably done an hour or so a day on it, give or take a few. Thanks to my Littlest Person for waking me at 4:45 every morning! :)

And I totally agree with Queen Maeve about you being able to sell them. Also just one butterfly on a small square, then people could buy one, or buy a set of four or something?

staranise · 16/01/2012 20:25

Hi all

Book group JoanneMallon - we tend to make a shortlist based on books we've read and liked and then decide with some basic rules eg, No books by authors we've read and nothing where children are horribly hurt (ie, no misery memoirs). Books that have worked well include Margaret Atwood and Carol Shields. I like the classics but noone else does (we did Madame Bovary which didn't go down very well). I love the way it makes me read books I wouldn't otherwise choose eg, 'A Fine Balance' has been my favourite - I'd definitely recommend that. Those Top 100 books ever etc are also good ideas for inspiration.

Impressed by your A C-D reading outrageous but I'd have to dispute that Holmes is the first fictional detective or the first detective novel! Sergeant Cuff in Wilkie Collins' The Moonstone preceded it (and is much better written!) - The Moonstone is much more like modern detective novels.

Enough ramblings, here's my post about a lovely weekend I've jsut had at a friend's hen party...

JoanneMallon · 16/01/2012 22:07

I am totally confused with the books thing now! I have about 10 to choose from. But yes if it all goes tits up I will blame it on the imaginary people who live in the computer, always do.

MmeLindor. · 17/01/2012 10:29

I am fed up being asked why I am getting involved in UK politics, since I live overseas, and have blogged about it. Here

MmeGuillotine · 17/01/2012 11:11

My third novel, Before the Storm, is now available to buy and I'm a bit over excited about it! :)

BaronessOrczy · 17/01/2012 11:32

I've blogged this morning about how lucky we are to live near such beautiful countryside and am also on The Camels Hump with a rant about statistics, radio adverts and Women In Industry awards. Phew, that was a bit of a mouthful!

FiveHoursSleep · 17/01/2012 13:10

I'm wondering why my girls seem to lack the gene that allows them to tell if something fits or not. They must get this from their daddy.

ATOmum · 17/01/2012 13:44

Hi everyone, been away for a while but here's my latest post about 'contact'

All about Daddy?

I'm quite nervous about anyone reading it as I'm not sure I'm up to a backlash in my first proper soapbox moment!

Loved your post MmeLindor and I also have to join in the chorus of 'Great quilt!' Flubba - v impressed!

Flubba · 17/01/2012 14:19

Thank you ATOmum - it was very snuggly last night too!

I've uploaded a vid. of my two eldest competing for attention enjoying singing together. Makes me laugh every time. "Angels" are singing...
