Although I have ::cough:: much reduced my stock of speed-dial photos, there are a few I keep handy because they are so useful in so many situations.

How goes it with the furniture assembly? Do you have a friend who's handy with a screwdriver?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2011 17:30

Who is this Mike the Knight of whom you speak?

WeWishYouAMerryGizzymas · 05/12/2011 17:35

::would hyperventilate if she had the lung capacity but only manages a slight wheeze::

I just opened Twigs' Mike link but I'm on LordD's iPad and couldn't work out how to get rid of it ::panic emoticon::

Glad you've had a restful day, Vampy. Must go and put dinner on and reclaim the laptop, this new fangled technology drives me bonkers...

SuperXmassiveLBD · 05/12/2011 18:06

ROFL @ the kiddie and mummy knightly versions. I bet some Gizzy fan invented MtK so they could get their littlies to demand a plastic castle set for Crimbo.

And, if you still have the facepalm on speed-dial, this place is falling to bits around my ears, so that friend of yours is welcome to come and do some screwing at Massive Mansions, Maudie. Wink

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2011 18:10

::Snatches the cough drop from Massive's grasp::

And of course I have it on speed-dial

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 05/12/2011 18:27

All this DIY talk reminds me of the Man's quote "I'm quite handy with a screwdriver but is that sexy? I don't think so..."

Erm, yes, very you fool!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2011 18:28

Err, that was why I made the gratuitous reference to the screwdriver, Spiro!

::wink::

SuperXmassiveLBD · 05/12/2011 18:53

Don't worry Maud, i'm not going out there.

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 05/12/2011 19:02

I did wonder Maud.

Also wondering - how about a Christmas party Friday or Saturday?

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 05/12/2011 19:08

Wow!

Another hotel to add to my 'Rooms to Stay In' list.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2011 19:24

That is indeed wow, Spiro!

Christmas party would be fab. I must get into my seasonal garb before then.

VictorianChristmasVamp · 05/12/2011 19:27

I'll be up at the in-laws next fri/sat so won't be able to paaarrrty too hard but I may be able to pop in from time to time.

Following weekend I'll be home - we've decided that this weekend, next weekend then 10 days together over Christmas may just be the limit of our family closeness!!Smile

Feeling a bit more refreshed this evening after I passed out on the sofa for 2 hours having picked up the kids!! Have vague memories of being woken up from time to time to spell names of DD's classmates as she was writing her Christmas cards! Putting me to shame - not sure we'll get around to them - that was supposed to be this weekend's plan.

I love a man who's handy with a screw driver me!Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2011 21:35

::Puts on her pinny, straightens the antimacassars and gets busy with the feather duster::

SuperXmassiveLBD · 05/12/2011 21:40

Evening all. This is a fine time of day to be doing the housework, Maud!

As for partaying, I would like to have it known that I'm free. Any time.

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 05/12/2011 21:41

Glad you got some rest Vamps Smile, I'm out Saturday as well. Heading East so better not take the Aston with me. Wink

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2011 21:42

Well, it had gone very quiet in here so I thought I would tidy the place up after the weekend's debauches which I sadly mercifully missed.

SuperXmassiveLBD · 05/12/2011 21:45

I can bring a few guests too.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2011 21:50

Crikey. That single eye is a bit disconcerting.

::Imagines party as her, Massive, Spiro and a bunch of cardboard cut-outs (by which I don't mean the RH supporting cast)::

SuperXmassiveLBD · 05/12/2011 21:56

I always thought the RH supporting cast were more in the scenery-chewing category, Maud.

SuperXmassiveLBD · 05/12/2011 21:59

I think we had this one a way back. Though I thought you wouldn't mind another look.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2011 22:00

Ah yes, the patchwork quilt of Mr Thorntons. No further comment necessary.

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 05/12/2011 22:01

Is Friday any good for you SNT? I can do either as have house to.myself both nights.

Maud - can I pick your brain on a Brownies front? Is Christmas Fair tomorrow & we're selling hand-made cards. I dug out a load of my unused craft gear & tbh have had a fairly major hand in manufacturing so (although I say it myself) they are not bad at all, but haven't got a clue how much to charge for them. If I was selling them at a normal craft fair would be £1 - £2 each, but I was thinking 60p for A6 and £1 for A5, plus some little ones for 40p - does that sound about right?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2011 22:01

::Reaches feebly for oxygen cylinder::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2011 22:06

::Puts on sensible Brown Owl hat::

What's the deal on the Brownie fair, Spiro? Are you selling on your behalf or the Brownies'? Is the money staying at Brownies or is it going off to support another cause? I would say £1 for a handmade card is about right - and as you say, compared to craft fair prices it's an absolute bargain - but I'm always amazed at the people who come to a Brownie fundraiser, knowing that the Brownies are doing it to fill the church's charity fund, yet still expect to get a home-baked cake for thruppence ha'penny.

::Don't get me started emoticon::

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 05/12/2011 22:09

It's for Guide Dogs for the Blind. I've been making and selling cards for years and a lot of these were made with bits & pieces of kits so even Miss Spiro's are quite professional!

I might start at a blanket £1 each or two for £1.50 and take it from there - what do you think?
