Maud I hope you had some RL friends to share your worries with, sometimes I find it easier to say things to you mad lot lovely ladies than people who really know me so if you need to offload then feel free. Glad you're well in anycase Smile.

Seems Girl is more able to cope with life issues than we realised!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 24/08/2011 20:07

Hmm, you might not believe it from the way I witter on here, but in RL I'm extremely bad at opening up about the things that are bothering me. I had, though, had some very useful conversations with a friend who had been through a very similar experience.

I knew Girl would cope - oddly, I think the fact that there's a lot of movement in and out of local schools means that she expects not to see all her friends at the start of a new school year - but I don't think she's really processed the fact that her friend has died. I'll see how she goes.

TheSmallPrint · 24/08/2011 20:12

Well it's easier to blather to a faceless screen than to a concerned friend who may worry more than you! Smile

LadyDamerel · 24/08/2011 20:29

Apparently, today is Wednesday and yesterday was Tuesday although for some reason unknown to me I spent all day yesterday thinking it was Wednesday. The Homes From Hell thing is on tonight as tonight is actually Wednesday Confused.

Maud, I'm very glad that your Worry was nothing worrying and very sad to hear about Girl's friend. The poor parents, I can't bring myself to even think about what they are going through.

Small, I'm very bad at opening up in RL or on here. I am a terrible bottler which tends to result in an absolute meltdown every once in a while but I find it oddly difficult to let anyone know what's going on in my head.

TheSmallPrint · 24/08/2011 20:30

So, changing the subject, what's going on with Recognise?

LadyDamerel · 24/08/2011 20:31

Oh and I want cake now I've seen Twigs' red velvet cakes on FB. I've never made them but may have to have a go tomorrow!

LadyDamerel · 24/08/2011 20:32

Don't know, Small. The August issue seems to be being delayed and delayed - boo hiss.

TheSmallPrint · 24/08/2011 20:33

Sorry Lady D i posted that before I saw yours! That looks awful! Blush Grin

LadyDamerel · 24/08/2011 20:35

::peers round common room::

Sorry, did someone say something?

Wink

Where is everyone? I seem to be the only one here....

In the words of Miranda, Rude!

SupermassiveLBD · 24/08/2011 21:16

Sorry ladies, had to step away from the screen for a bit, there is this pesky thing called RL that really gets in the way all the time

Maud, i am thrilled that all went your way at the hospital. I had a scare myself a few years back and still remember how horrid it felt. And I didn't tell anyone at all about it, reasoning there was no sense in putting everyone through a period of worry, before there was anything definite. Not noble of me at all I hasten to add - i just felt I could not cope with their worry as well as my own.

So sorry to hear about girl's friend though and it was maybe as well she found out in a natural way. I had been wondering if she was of an age to feel upset that it had been concealed from her. They do a lot of that on the Island, and everybody knows it, so of course, in consequence, people are always worried in case Dire Things are being kept from them.

Of course it won't be a Dire Thing of Recognise mag never comes up with the goods. but it'll be a bit of a shame.

Right, how about something nice and quiet and Cultural? I was going to post on Monday but it didn't go with the raucous jolly atmosphere.

A 'pretty' to look at too, while you listen.

Thank you for the pome, Massive. I can't decide what I think about Eliot, although like everyone else I blubbed at Stop All The Clocks in Four Weddings And A Funeral. Have we heard

SupermassiveLBD · 24/08/2011 22:53

Hm, now I have a full room and banjaxed earphones, so I have had to mute the lappy.

I suppose I like the voice so it doesn't matter if he's reading out the back of a cornflake packet, I am still spelbound.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 24/08/2011 23:12

Oh no, Massive, I was going to invite you (and all the other Academicians, naturally) to join me in the virtual discotheque. Should we abandon the poetry in favour of the visual arts?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 24/08/2011 23:20

VJ Maudie is in da house.

is going out to Spiro and to Twiggy, who is fond of potato-based snacks.
SupermassiveLBD · 24/08/2011 23:21

Ah bless
I have one myself on my chin, so I sympathise

I had dug out several vids I thought worthy of a whirl, myself, but tonight is not going to happen for me.

The adverts are on now and it's EVEN LOUDER!!!

SupermassiveLBD · 24/08/2011 23:25

ROFL @ potato-based snacks.

There seem to be lots of new vids - the Bibliotheque keeps offering me new stuff (of varying quality, it must be said). I love that Romanoff look and the stray whisker does not detract from the overall effect, je pense.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 24/08/2011 23:35

I know you can't watch it now, Massive, so save this for a rainy day. It's as if she read your mind.
