HAHAHAHA ONLY JOKING!!

TA-DA!!!! I'M FINALLY HERE after much moaning on Twitter and a lost application, Mumsnet have fast-tracked my application and I'm now officially a "Mumsnet Blogger". What have I let myself in for??

Some of you may already know me, in which case "Hi" - make yourselves known.
Some of you may never have heard of me, in which case "Hi" - where the frig have you been for the past two years?
Some of you may know me from a previous life where I had a different username, in which case "Hi" - and sssshhhh we don't talk about that any more.
Some of you may know me in real life, in which case "Hi" - isn't it time you rang me and we arranged a coffee date?
Some of you have probably clicked off by now and though "weirdo", in which case "Bye".

I have been described as Tigger, Quirky and The Queen of Rants. I blog at Typecast

I don't think anyone's really "keeping tabs" on you any more, 20; we're discussing chickens, Shakespeare and DVDs now. Do join in.

Or just keep coming back and making yourself look even sillier and more desperate for attention, if you prefer :)

I admit i'm a little bit confused. MN started it's blogging network to encourage MNers to blog and to link those that already do so - but is after all a business and must have known that it would attract those with blogs already who want to be part of the mn blogthingy.

Are the current mners who blog not happy with the new influx of those who joined to become mn bloggers? Confused

And while i admit the op was a bit full on - several current mners telling him / her and other newbie bloggers that their blogs are 'crap and boring' is surely bad form...is this just preserved for the new lot or is this 'rating of blogs' going on somewhere else i'm not aware of?

nb i neither have a blog nor follow many nor hang around the blogging area much - poss hence my confusion...

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 27/07/2011 23:03

Port, never mind that. Help me think up a good Shakespeare/chicken pun.

Thingumy · 27/07/2011 23:03

arf at this thread

A whole new world of venom on mn....wonderful!

20SomethingmumUK · 27/07/2011 23:03

No, I wouldn't want to be a part of a forum that behaves like a bunch of hyper active 3 year olds after drinking too much pop.

May you all disappear up your own arse's soon.

I wish you all well. And that one day they find a cure for MumsNet snobbery.

Peace.

Thingumy · 27/07/2011 23:06

peace out 20!

BecauseImWorthIt · 27/07/2011 23:06

PortBlacksandIsleOfDogs - I don't think anyone has a problem with the idea of bloggers who want to become part of 'the mn blogthingy' (to use a technical term Grin). What's the issue here is the whole tone of voice and perceived attitude of the OP - followed by the influx of his/her supporters - which seems to suggest that they don't want to be part of MN, but to demonstrate their superiority to us.

Although I'm happy to be told if that isn't the case. Hmm

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 27/07/2011 23:06

Why can't I think of one?! Why am I....broken?!

DirtyMartini · 27/07/2011 23:06

PortB, I think it's safe to say we love new bloggers generally. It's just like any topic really; 99% of new posters get a warm welcome, but there's occasionally someone who turns up and seems to just rub everyone the wrong way and then instead of behaving in a grown-up fashion, stages a forum invasion, and it all goes pear-shaped.

DirtyMartini · 27/07/2011 23:07

Chickens, it's because you're too close to the subject. You're right at the beating heart of it.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 27/07/2011 23:08

Yes. Yes, that's probably true DM

YaMaYaMa · 27/07/2011 23:10

Oh now that you've hinted at an 'Oirish' problem I am not so keen Will try and put it out of my head until third season though.

PortBlacksandIsleOfDogs · 27/07/2011 23:11

BIWI - i'll have you know i am ever so technically minded....why only this morning i managed to wrestle my 'E' key back from one of my rats who lifted it off my keyboard and ran off....(prob some crumbs under there it was after Blush)

cera1980 · 27/07/2011 23:16

Typecast, known you for years lovely!! One of the nicest, kindest most helpful Internet friends I've ever known.

Your blog is fabulous as always and I hope you never change xx

To all the warm and friendly mumsnetters who offered such a warm and friendly welcome.............Perhaps if there are 'set rules' to how a forum member introduces themselves, then perhaps there should be a contract written in blood, stapled to the head of the newbie for a period of no less than 28 days, stating all forum tules, which should be committed to memory before said poster is allowed to post. Or maybe we should all be vanilla and exactly the same......

BecauseImWorthIt · 27/07/2011 23:18

Oh for goodness sake, don't be so ridiculous.

And that is my considered opinion.

AnyFuleKno · 27/07/2011 23:19

Comedy of eggrors...
