Margaret Hale Academy of Tea-Pouring & Wallpaper Selection at the University of Milton Northern

Welcome to our new common room which, as you would expect, is decorated in impeccable taste (despite the limited choice of wallpapers available in Milton Northern). Above the marble mantelpiece hangs a portrait of the Vice-Chancellor of the University. As we recline elegantly on the chaise longue, we partake of tea and ratafia biscuits and discuss the works of Plato, although in the evening the finest wines and Polish cordials may be served.

God, I LOVED that film. CF has been an enduring love of mine for a long, long time but I have to confess that if I had to make a choice between Gizzy, Thornton and Mr Darcy I'm not sure who I'd kick out of bed first.

DumSpiroSpero · 05/07/2011 21:40

Aaaaw Maud - thought that was going to be JP! Started a new fanfic about him last night Grin.

I have to beg to differ re double breasted suits - but I'm sure I can grin and bear it for an hour or two if the contents of said suit is up to scratch!

SupermassiveLBD · 05/07/2011 21:41

What did you reckon to the Lord of the Rings movies, Lady D? I could never read the books, they seemed to drag, but the spectacle of the visual medium made for a much more enjoyable experience for me. So, maybe the same thing will be true of the Hobbit? With the added incentive of at least one very personable dwarf, big sword notwithstanding.

I do so love it when Gizzy whips his out...

DumSpiroSpero · 05/07/2011 21:42

Lady D - I'd kick all three out of bed for John Porter (or maybe just Mr Darcy...Wink)

SupermassiveLBD · 05/07/2011 21:44

Does anybody need to ask me that question?

LadyDamerel · 05/07/2011 21:45

::whispers very quietly:: I haven't seen them, because of my utter boredom the book, you see. Maybe I should give them another chance.

Although with 38 hours of Gizzy to dribble wade through it may be next year before I manage it.

I'm kind of with Spiro, though. I'm sure the inhabitants of Middle Earth (well, one in particular) may pull me through the Hobbit Grin.

::stops the stopwatch::

You were bang on cue, Spiro!

I am feeling a little that poor Harry Kennedy isn't featuring very highly in the syllabus. I find him very swoony in his woolly jerseys and have had a little prick of my conscience that I didn't include him in my list of people I may/may not kick out of bed.

Massive, I have to ask that question because I'm not completely au fait with everyone's preferences yet....

SupermassiveLBD · 05/07/2011 21:56

Ah, then, Lady D,. I think all the Man's lovely characters are just darling, but Gizzy is my special favourite.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/07/2011 22:01

Well in that case, LadyDamerel, would you care to see one of our less onerous research aids? .

Thing is, you see, that if I want a bespectacled man in woolly jumpers I can get that at home.

DumSpiroSpero · 05/07/2011 22:07

Look what I've found...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/07/2011 22:07

Just discovered a great song at the end of Luther.

Come on baby, let's get out of the cold

Smile, that is less traumatic on one's nerves!

, and only marginally less addictive!
DumSpiroSpero · 05/07/2011 22:10

Lady D - have you seen Sparkhouse? is one of my favourite RA characters, albeit probably the least 'obvious'.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/07/2011 22:12

Ha! LadyDamerel, that was the one I didn't post when I posted It Should Have Been Me. .

SupermassiveLBD · 05/07/2011 22:20

Grin @ Sexy Back IV

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/07/2011 22:22

I was wondering whether LadyDamerel might like to see our, ahem, most devastating research material?

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 05/07/2011 22:24

Sounds like a plan Maud - but I think Lady D made need to prepare herself by viewing our (imho) first Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 05/07/2011 22:25

Was about to say 'second most devastating' but then I remembered

SupermassiveLBD · 05/07/2011 22:31

You are forgetting some of the Gizzy ones are somewhat discombobulating, Spiro.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/07/2011 22:31

Ah. I can't bear the third most devastating one, because of its cheesetastic soundtrack. And the second most devastating is quite funny in parts (I looove the bit where Geraldine gives Harry a right hook).

Well, are you with us, LadyDamerel?

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/07/2011 22:32

Crikey, Massive. I'm going to need a few moments to collect myself before I go down to the basement archive.

::fans self::

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 05/07/2011 22:33

Indeed Massive although sadly I can't watch it all as I can hear movement downstairs and suspect Mr S is on his way up to catch me out bed!

DumSpiroSpero · 05/07/2011 22:36

I love that song Maud, although I agree in that context 'cheesetastic' does rather hit the nail on the head.

Was watching the Dibley bit and couldn't help but thinking God help the bloke if he ever did get married - could just imagine hoardes of his more deranged devoted fans turning up with a ghetto blaster and re-enacting that scene!

SupermassiveLBD · 05/07/2011 22:37

What a shame, Spiro, and I was just about to ask if anyone fancied listening to a bit of Britney.

No I wasn't,

Honest Guv, Wink
