While everyone else is getting their thinking caps on

I can see it Twigs.

TheSmallPrint · 13/06/2011 08:04

Spires description of the HJ film sounds about right, but seeing as I like Transformers and HJ I'm not ruling it out! Well, at least I might get it on rental on the pretext of the Smallboys also liking Transformers and Ironman.

SupermassiveLBD · 13/06/2011 10:04

Morning ladies, and I apologise to everyone for my abrupt disappearance last night, but my computer crashed and was taking an age to reboot so I had to give up in disgust.

I saw your photo, too, Twigs, just the sort of thing one would like to see in one's wing mirror though of course it might result in one's driving into a nearby lamp-post as a result of the deAR distRAction.

That new HJ film sounds made for you, Small, the perfect excuse to see it, as well, with having Smallboys!

I see there is ash in the Oz/NZ area. looks like the Man got home just in time for his hols. I hope it is hols, and he is having a great morning utterly slobbing out and not checking out Mumsnet

Objects in the mirror may appear cuter than they are.

Morning all.

Yes, Twigoletto, I know exactly who Jonathan Cohen was - I wasted five minutes last night fruitlessly looking in the archive for a pic for you - I was simply Hmm at his credentials (or not) as a crush object! When we were in the sixth form, a favourite way of passing Saturday afternoons was watching Play Away.

PasstheTwiglets · 13/06/2011 10:37

Ah, I see now, Maud! Yes, I quite understand your aghastness :) In my (soemwhat shaky) defense, it wasn't a proper crush, it was more a sort of "oh, he's a nice man, I wish he was my uncle" sort of feelings that a little kid might have... I can't remember first proper crush - maybe Adam Ant!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/06/2011 10:53

I'm not aghast, Twigoletto, merely perplexed and amused. I do understand the "wish he was my uncle" sort of feeling, and Jonathan Cohen would be a good man to have at a party for a bit of ad hoc improvised boogie-woogie around the piano, like Colin Sell from I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue.

TheSmallPrint · 13/06/2011 11:00

24 years ago, were my big crush. I used to go and see them at the Town and Country. The lead singer held my hand and sang to me once.

TheSmallPrint · 13/06/2011 11:02

Long hair and leather - should be right up Massive's street! Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 13/06/2011 11:07

I can relate to the leather, Small Grin

Snorted my Coke out all over my clean tee-shirt.

PasstheTwiglets · 13/06/2011 11:10

I liked them, Small, though would have no idea what they looked like.

Re. Jonathan Cohen and Colin Sell - I'd prefer Richard Vranch these days :)

TheSmallPrint · 13/06/2011 11:22

Snorted my Coke out all over my clean tee-shirt

SupermassiveLBD · 13/06/2011 11:27

I suppose it is a sort of drug, Small. But it's my one vice. Well, my other one Grin

OP posts:
PasstheTwiglets · 13/06/2011 13:08

Me too, Massive - I get through a scary number of cans of Coke Zero a week!

SupermassiveLBD · 13/06/2011 14:30

Can you tell the difference between that and diet Coke, Twiggers? I can't.
although it all tastes different again, over here.

On a more serious note, poor old Christchurch, once again Sad

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 13/06/2011 15:20

Just seen the news, how awful for them again Sad

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/06/2011 17:04

::Staggers in, gasping::

Polish ... cordial ... give ... me ... Polish ... cordial.

::collapses::

DumSpiroSpero · 13/06/2011 17:23

What's up Maud?

And if it's that you just happened upon a certain person in the street I may not be responsible for my actions Grin!

PasstheTwiglets · 13/06/2011 17:24

At least it seems like there were't many injuries this time (the report I just saw said no deaths had been discovered yet). How awful :(

Tiring day, I take it? I've had a similar one - up at 5.30am, kids to school, walk into town to deal with various errands, pick up DS from nursery, back home, go to pick up DD and bring her home for lunch, take DD back again after lunch, dash round Asda, pick DD up from school, 4 loads of washing, a ton of ironing, change all bedding, cook two evening meals, and it's soon to be bath time for the little Twiglets. Actually I might show DrTwigs this list when he gets home :)

Massive, I think I can tell the difference with the Cokes but if given a blind taste test I might fail! Though I can tell full-sugar Coke apart easily. And I can tell your forrin Coke Light a mile off... :) I opted for Coke Zero over Diet Coke because it didn't contain a particular potentially-scary preservative that Diet Coke did - and that made me feel a little better about the vast amounts of aspartame that I was consuming :) But apparently neither contain the preservative now...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/06/2011 17:34

::Glugs Polish cordial::

No, nothing to do with close (or not so close) encounters of the swooning kind!

::Looks admiringly at Twiggy's list of things achieved::

SupermassiveLBD · 13/06/2011 18:04

Twigs is a domestic goddess. I have done nothing much at all, one of my last days of freedom so I just lounged. And it was lovely.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/06/2011 18:16

Last days of freedom? Is Gizzy going to lock you in the castle tower? You wish.
