Strangers are friends you just haven't met, yet. Even when they are baddies and drive science-fiction-y submarines, wearing a smart grey lounge suit.

Very interesting, Massive. When I was younger (and knew people who were doing it) I never thought very much about the moral status of doing bad things in a good cause. Does the good cause mean that the bad things are no longer bad? Is there such a thing as a just war? Things that seemed straightforward when I was a lass seem so much more complicated now.

::Turns off the news programme::

All cars should have a name. My last two were Jean-Paul [Belmondo] and Gerard [Depardieu].

This is what I was looking for when I was pulled into the .

PassTheTwiglets · 10/05/2011 12:57

Massive, I thought of you at the "fanfic writers are always sticking me in the tub" :)

SupermassiveLBD · 10/05/2011 13:40

Maud, I think all your doubts about moral status and good and bad and war are the things JP is starting to ask himself in the course of the series. So obviously he's on a Journey to Enlightenment...

What intellectual motors you have had. At the risk of outing myself I shall say we had a maroon bombshell once, that went by the name of the Flying Aubergine.

Alas Twigs, rub a dub dub, Sir Guy is a tub is one of my most cherished fancies. So very shallow of me. Why oh why did they only do it to Vaisey Much and the PLFW on screen?

Yes, I know. it was a family show. and they didn't want mummies spontaneously combusting and burning the Saturday High Tea .

in a tub, obviously.

I was muse-ing, Massive, not looking for instant answers to unanswerable questions. My cars weren't intellectual, but they were ::cough:: good-looking (to me, anyway) and very very French!

SupermassiveLBD · 10/05/2011 13:56

Did you keep a pile of stubbed-out Gauloises in the ash-tray too, to complete the louche Gallic atmosphere? Or do they do one of those little cardboard dangly trees imbued with the same perfume, which would be so much better for one's sante.

Gotta admire the French you know. Only people on earth that can make a motor vehicle out of a couple of deckchairs and a sewing machine.

As a fervent anti-smoker, the one place where my grand amour with all things French falls apart is over les Gauloises and les Gitanes. Besides, louche can take many forms.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/05/2011 14:14

Ha! Synchronicitous references to the coolest car ever!

PassTheTwiglets · 10/05/2011 14:18

My Dad wanted me to get a 2CV when I was buying my first car. I couldn't care less about cars if I tried but even I refused to get one of those.

Maud, have you been to Biarritz?

SupermassiveLBD · 10/05/2011 14:18

Hey, I didn't realise, you can do the woooshing arrow thing out of RH Grin

My arrows don't work :(

SupermassiveLBD · 10/05/2011 14:37

Well, you should get Gizzy to let you have a go with his, Twigs, forget about the PLFW's paltry weapon.

Yes, Twiggy, but not (alas) for many years.

Oh pants. I had a beautifully-crafted Saracen bow all typed out but it doesn't work on previewing the post :(

Maud, our family summer holidays were always in Biarritz from the age of about, ooohhh, 12 or so? We went for years and I love it there (well, it was a little village just outside there). I've been back a couple of times since but it's been a good few years...

TheSmallPrint · 10/05/2011 16:01

Grin at you lot shooting arrows at each other

Did that work.

Warning: Never listen to filthy Prince songs when you have just watched a load of RA videos.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/05/2011 16:15

A delighfully mad video to .

TheSmallPrint · 10/05/2011 16:27

hahaha that's brilliant.

TheSmallPrint · 10/05/2011 16:33

I was listening to the best of album (which the original Kiss is on) and this one came on - a Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/05/2011 16:42

Oh yes, Small, I used to do my ironing to that album until the kitchen CD player wore out through excessive use of the repeat button for that track I discovered N&S as the perfect accompaniment to getting hot and steamy. But that Mr Prince is a cheeky rascal, isn't he?

If anyone wants a laugh (or to roll their eyes at life in the urban jungle) please come and join my chat thread.

FYI, I point out here that Gizzy arrows are clickable.
