Have a good day everyone!

Glad the night went ok, Small! Have a good time today. We are off to the in-laws today...

TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 22/04/2011 09:39

We're off to the beach today and the sun is shining Smile. I can't remember if you get on with your in laws Twigs but I hope so as it's too nice a day for you to be unhappy.

ComeIntoTheEasterGardenMaud · 22/04/2011 10:21

Morning all!

Enjoy your trip, Small. And don't forget to pack your water wings - you don't want to have to summon the lifeguard!

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 22/04/2011 12:17

Maud! Fancy posting that of a morning, when I have work to do! [busmile]
Take that in return!

I hope everyone's day is sunny and bright, in all senses. It's a lovely day here today and I can even see a mist of green on the trees --it's all been very late this year.

TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 22/04/2011 14:20

anyone seen the Aloe Vera? It's 26 degrees here today, which is about as much as my pasty Celtic skin can take. Smallboys have had a whale of a time and now we're heading off to eat icecream do something cultural.

There was no need for the lifeguard Maud but. It was reassuring to have him near, just in case. Thank you.

DumSpiroSpero · 22/04/2011 16:20

Back home since midday - 3 loads of washing done, building and plumbling work completed (for now!), next year's trip already booked!

OP posts:
TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 22/04/2011 16:36

Back already Spiro? Doesn't seem like you've been there 5minutes! I guess booking again is a good sign that it went well.

I have been trying to teach Smallboy Major about cathdrals, stonemasons, stained glass etc. I may as well have been talking to the gargoyles.

BunnySpiroSpero · 22/04/2011 17:34

Well I did miss the first day and half so wasn;t away that long really.

How's your trip going Small - sounds like it's proving to be more fun than you expected?!

TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 22/04/2011 17:51

Yes Spiro, although SB Minor is being Hard Work. SB Major on the other hand has been quite angelic - I swear they plan a rota.

TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 22/04/2011 18:28

Spoke to soon. We are having a fish and chip disaster! If I don't eat soon I may faint clean away

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 22/04/2011 20:02

Hello all, hope you have all survived your days in some sort of shape. Here's something to cheer you up if you need it [busmile]

TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 22/04/2011 21:17

Well that's a very odd sand beard he's got going on there Massive Confused. Think I prefer the down on his knees pic better .

Where is everyone this evening? Hope Twigs survived the in laws visit.

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 22/04/2011 21:22

Hmm, I rather liked it, Small. I believe there is a video somewhere too. Lady Venetia might know.

I expect Maud is out socialising, and Spiro will be recovering from her hols. But it doesn't look good for Twiggy [busad] (That blue wabbit is soo pwetty)

TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 23/04/2011 09:13

Sorry Massive, I fell asleep not long after that post [bushock]. Must be the sea air!

We're off to some dodgy theme park type number for my sins then heading home. Back to a proper computer -yay

PassTheEasterTwiglets · 23/04/2011 09:20

[BLEURGH] Idiot No.1 reporting for duty, SAH!

So it was my turn to drink when we went to the in-laws yesterday and boy did I overdo it. I feel dreadful today. I am really angry at myself. It was one of those drinking-in-the-garden-all-day things and I felt absolutely fine all day long but as soon as we got in the car to come home I thought "uh-oh" and I was in a right state from then on. What is really bothering me is that DrTwigs and I are off on our anniversary weekend tomorrow and I can't feel ill then! We were going to have a lovely long lunch by the river, go out for cocktails in the evenings and have a nice romantic weekend sans kids for the first time in years. And now I've potentially ruined it. What an idiot. [busad]

PassTheEasterTwiglets · 23/04/2011 09:24

Here is the Strike Back viral video Massive. I haven't watched it yet.

Enjoy the theme park, SMall - if that's possible!

How is the bathroom, Spiro? (I like your Easter name!) Ours is about months in and still not finished.

PassTheEasterTwiglets · 23/04/2011 10:03

2 months in, that was supposed to say.

Oooh, a dragon! Dragon

BunnySpiroSpero · 23/04/2011 10:08

Bathroom is looking good - just wall cabinet to go up and need to buy new shower curtain (MIL has supplied towels & bath mat - grrr in theory but they are actually much what I would have chosen for once so fair do's). The tiling was ok so it's basically all white with black granite tops to the basin/loo unit, slate tile vinyl floor & slatey/bluey towels. It's not 100% me as we were working round existing tile trim colourwise but it does look much better & will be really nice once the last few bits & bobs are in.

How long are you away for your anniversary? Sounds lovely - hope you have a good time & get over your hangover by then. Lots of water & extra strong mints followed by an egg mayo sarnie with Walkers Bacon crisps in it usually works for me!

PassTheEasterTwiglets · 23/04/2011 11:16

What a cheek, to buy them without even asking you!! Glad you like them though. Is it real granite? Ooooh, how lovely! My dad is doing our bathroom, so it's free labour which is great. But he does it in dribs and drabs when they visit so we get a few hours work once a week. The whole house has been like this - we've lived here for about 6 years and it's nowhere close to being done. It does get me down at times, living with constant dust and rubble and I sometimes wish we could just pay someone to have a room done in a week. Also, Dad is such a DIY perfectionist (whereas I just want it DONE) and he hates other people doing our work. It also means he does things s-l-o-w-l-y - he's one of those people who takes off a radiator to paint behind it and I'm a person who just paints behind it as far as you're likely to see [busmile]

Re. anniversary - we just have one night away, tomorrow night. My parents are coming to our house to have the kids (who are very hard to look after) and my mum joked "it's funny how you are calling it 'a weekend away' but I'm calling it 'one night away'...!" I said that was because she didn't realise how early I was planning to leave on Sunday morning and how late I was planning to get back on Mondaynight [bugrin] Good tip about the mints, have sent DrTwigs out to get some! I hope I'll be over it by tomorrow, I can't remember how long hangovers last!

Off to play Easter Bunny and hide some eggs for the kids. Then have to do the fake-surprised "oh look, I think the Easter Bunny's been!" thing... Is it weird for an 8 year old to believe that a giant talking rabbit hides eggs in the garden? [buhmm]

BunnySpiroSpero · 23/04/2011 11:25

What a cheek, to buy them without even asking you!

Touching the very tip of one hell of an iceberg there Twigs!

BunnySpiroSpero · 23/04/2011 11:28

I'd have thought you'll be ok by tomorrow evening at the worst - 24 hours usually does it.

My DD still believes in Easter bunny, Santa, fairies and that she & I are descended from a long line of wizards - I do like to encourage her vivid imagination Grin!

PassTheEasterTwiglets · 23/04/2011 11:38

My DD believes in all those things too but how funny about the wizards, had to LOL at that! What a fab idea - does she think she can do magic or anything like that? How sweet!

Goodness, I've just realised that all the choc eggs in tha garden will melt by the time the kids get to them. They've all gone to Asda and I was supposed to hide the eggs so that they can 'hunt' them when they get back but if they're in this sunshine for an hour then it's going to be more a Splat Hunt than an Egg Hunt..

BunnySpiroSpero · 23/04/2011 12:25

She watches a show called Wizards of Waverley Place on Disney Channel, but prior to that I started making 'magic lemonade' (tiny bit of food colouring in the glass before you pour it in front of them) so she's put two & two together. I've told her that the magic gene is inherited down the female line of the family, but Nana and I gave up our powers to marry our mortal husbands. She believes we have a magic spell book in the loft which will reveal itself to her when she's old enough to start learning wizardry herself! Smile

I have been inspired by your egg hunt & just gone to get some for tomorrow!

TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 23/04/2011 13:07

Afternoon ladies. I wish I had someone - anyone- to do my household repairs. Twigs don't worry about hangover you'll be fine tomorrow Smile.

Spiro what's that film with Sandra Bullock where she is a witch and lives with her sister also a witch? It might be a bit grown up but maybe not? She might like it?

We are doing an Easter egg hunt tomorrow too, always do one since the smallboys were teeny. I am also worried about the heat, car is saying 26 again and I am melting.

BunnySpiroSpero · 23/04/2011 13:16

Practical Magic - Small. Haven't seen it for years but think it gets a not gruesome here & there iirc.

Nothing worse than being stuck in a car in this weather are you on your way home or to seventh circle of hell theme park?
