Well, this should guarantee us some visitors if it comes up on 'Most Active'.

one for the mantelpiece

Ok, the next 2 aren't John Standring, but it would be rude not to...

yummy!

Pleased to see the new pics, Spiro, and glad he looks recognisable
No guests, either, they are staying elsewhere till tomorrow!

Did the rice work on your phone then? or is it a new one?

DumSpiroSpero · 25/03/2011 21:54

Phone is not 100% - hasn't registered any updates since it went for dip and thinks it's January 1980! Also 'back' button not working but hopefully that's just a bit of residual moisture and will come back shortly. May have to do a system restore in a day or so. Everything on memory card fine too. Main thing is it's letting me Mumsnet!

I don't think it needs too much fumigating Small! Fortunately it went down the 'spare' loo which only gets used when we have visitors so didn't land in anything dubious.

DD and I have been dancing round the sitting room with half a dozen of those light up balloons, and now we're watching Alvin & the Chipmunks with lots of choccie Smile

Smallboy major loves that film! I must get it out for him again.

My phone is about to die so will say goodnight all. Mwah!

SupermassiveLBD · 25/03/2011 22:03

Night night, Small, a shame you have to go.

DumSpiroSpero · 25/03/2011 22:05

Night Small!

Just looking on Amazon - I can't believe some of The Man's 'lesser works' (Moving On, for instance) have gone up hugely in price, while North & South is £3.49 Confused?!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 25/03/2011 22:18

Their prices make no sense.
And I regularly pay more for post and packing than the actual items cost. That is for books though, DVDs work out cheaper because I don't pay VAT.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/03/2011 22:21

::Looks round nervously::

Evening. Maud too is in da house.

I don't like the look of Herr Heinz Beanz at all. Still, all is not lost. While some of you wantons have been committing acts of gross indecency in the backs of taxis, I have been playing canasta with my good friend Johnnie.

::Hides cravat in reticule::

Look! .

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/03/2011 22:24

::Speaks firmly to Spiro's phone::

Are you going to work properly tomorrow or will Spiro have to

SupermassiveLBD · 25/03/2011 22:29

Hello Maudie! I have to admit, Johnny looks magificent in that vid. I do like the bit where he's running, very manly. No taxis in his day, how fortunate for him.

Don't you like Herr Heinz then? I thought he was better than I feared he was going to be. We shall have to wait and see how evil he is, I suppose. and whether he has another side like another baddie I could mention. I don't suppose so though, it's a very comic book sort of film.

My Mr Fix-it

DumSpiroSpero · 25/03/2011 22:45

Of course the man himself is apparently quite handy in the DIY department.

Hi Maud!

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/03/2011 22:52

Will this fix you, Massive? Although the trouble with your Mr Fix-It is that he tries to fix most situations with his sword. With terrible unintended consequences.

I admit I didn't watch the trailer, but the pics don't enthuse me. Comic book films aren't my thang at all - that's why I had never seen Mr Jackman, for example - but I enjoyed Jack Nicholson in Batman so maybe it'll be alright. At least (as I said before) he's wearing a decent suit and it's not made out of BBTs.

SupermassiveLBD · 25/03/2011 22:59

I have to admit CA is not a film I would have been the least bit interested in otherwise. Should be interesting, though, to see what he makes of it.

I shall make no comments about the fixing qualities of Guy's weaponry or you will run away again.

But that was a nice pic. He looks so appealing, for a very bad man.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/03/2011 23:11

It's OK. I have the script here with all the possible references to the Gisborne weaponry. ::Can spot a possible innuendo a mile off emoticon::

Anyway, I have been rummaging in the basement for fresh resources. This one, I think, may amuse you. .

SupermassiveLBD · 25/03/2011 23:22

Hmm very nice. Except for that oh so daft armour. What were they thinking of...

Thanks, Maudie. I haven't had a good search in the archives for ages.

SupermassiveLBD · 25/03/2011 23:25

Pure self-indugence but by golly I'm gonna. Do excuse me.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/03/2011 23:38

Ah yes, that one is fabulous, in part (I think) because it's such a great song. I'm off to bed now, so will leave you with one of the lesser-known works of John William Waterhouse.

Good night all!

SupermassiveLBD · 25/03/2011 23:42

And now

SupermassiveLBD · 25/03/2011 23:43

Ah, I see you are awa' tae yer beid. Goodnight!

DumSpiroSpero · 26/03/2011 07:32

Morning! Had to disappear last night as me & DD were 'couch camping' and she suddenly decided she was ready to go to sleep, so she got Winnie the Pooh on the CD player & I got Sylvester on my phone!

Just seen this via Twitter - is it me or does the production of this film.seem totally disorganised? Surely every single aspect of it can't have ground to a halt because PJ was ill? Confused

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 26/03/2011 07:35

BTW, Small - Alvin & the Chipmunks is £2.99 on Amazon at the mo.

linky

PassTheTwiglets · 26/03/2011 07:40

Morning all. Maud, I hadn't seen that 'Oh Johnny' vid - goodness, he is pretty in black and white. I am considering reversing the top 2 positions on the Wibble Chart, after that.

Herr Heinz Beanz - ha! Nice one :)

I'm not sure if this was deliberate anyway, but Maud, I was amused by Can spot a possible innuendo a mile off emoticon followed immediately by I have been rummaging in the basement :o

I watched that Captain America trailer last night. My first thought was that goodness me but those two boys need to get out more. I wouldn't be interested in it at all, normally, but the main thing here is that DrTwiglets loves his comic book films. I usually make him go by himself but I will selflessly accompany him this time.
