Blondies, mmmm! Have never made them but Nigella has a recipe I've been meaning to try for ages.

Well, the blondies were a success (warm, with vanilla ice cream and home-made toffee sauce). I used the Nigella recipe Twigs, so is definitely worth having a go at.

If you like proper chocolate - try making brownies with a plain chocolate orange - yum!

Blondies are v. easy to make recipe here, plus posh bought ice cream and toffee sauce (couple of oz each of butter and brown sugar plus small tub of double cream, melted/simmered together for about 5 minutes then left to cool and thicken a little)

Having guests might be a good excuse?

Obviously I left out the raspberries cos I couldn't be arsed didn't have time to go beyond the corner shop!

I think they would be even better without the raspberries, in view of the caramel -- somehow they always seem too sharp against that kind of mellowness.

I'd go for white choc & raspberry (no nuts) with vanilla ice cream & raspberry sauce, But I thought the same as you re the combo with toffee sauce, Massive.
