Please come in and make yourself at home. All are welcome to join in our exhaustive and detailed daily research programmes. Areas of study include: The Cotton Industry in the Industrial Revolution; Robin Hood Studies (specialist subject Guy of Gisborne) as well as exhaustive study of the Creative Arts, Film and Media (with particular emphasis on Tolkein, the Armed Forces and National Security).

Would you like a glass of Chateau Gizzy?

SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 23:02

It's not the core that's warped, if you ask me.

You dissin' mah sensa hoomah, Maud?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 23:06

Certainly not, Massive. Was passing a general and hilariously witty comment on the tenor of our most recent discussions.

Your sensa hoomah is well wikkid, innit?

Could it be this that's warping us?

Or this?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/02/2011 23:19

The latter in my case, Massive...

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 23:19

In my case it's probably this.

Discards all possible double entendres about big bangs

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/02/2011 23:22

Interesting programme about the birth of the novel on BBC4 - talking about Samuel Richardson who wrote Clarissa....

OP posts:
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/02/2011 23:24

This guy doesn't read Lovelace's letters the way that Richard did...

SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 23:25

Maud, you are certainly feeling your oats tonight. Have you been at the Polish cordial again?

I know -- pot, kettle etc but then I am always like this.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 23:26

No-one could. But I've always understood that Clarissa was one of the high achievements of English literature. I'll try to watch the programme on iPlayer.

SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 23:27

No one could do that, Phoenix. I haven't listened to it for some while but I can still 'hear' it in my brain

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/02/2011 23:28

Ooh now talking about William Hogarth...apparently I'm related to him (somehow)

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 23:28

X posted, Maud. Snap! Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 23:29

Feeling my oats? How does own feel one's oats? Feeling my age, more like.

SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 23:32

I am not related to anybody!!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 23:34

I don't know which way to turn. Spiro wants to lure me to the dark side whereas Massive wants/needs me to remain the Academy's Puritan in residence.

SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 23:34

How does own feel one's oats

SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 23:37

Oh don't mind me, Maud.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 23:41

Crikey. It's a bit menacing on the dark side. Perhaps I should stick with the after all.

SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 23:46

Very sweet, Maud Sits on hands.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 23:47

I know it's a bit tame for your tastes, Massive.

::feeble::

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/02/2011 23:47

It's astounding how many of these videos there are....

Anyway, night!!!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 23:50

Night Phoenix, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 23:50

Yes, astounding in so many ways. Good night, Phoenix!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 23:51

That must be getting uncomfortable, Massive.
