Apologies for linking to the DM but compared to all the pictures that are sold to magazines for cash, isn't this a gorgeous picture?

Miranda Kerr and baby

Well done them for being so unstarry about it all.

Miranda Kerr - good on her!! I love that picture and, whilst I personally think it is a bit intimate and showy for general circulation, I hope it inspires at least one young woman to breastfeed.

It balances out the Denise Van Outen/Rachel Stevens (it's a bit tough... therefore you shouldn't do it Hmm) bollocks we've had to put up with recently.

Good for the Blooms!

Portofino · 19/01/2011 10:12

I saw this this morning. It's so gorgeous it bought a little tear to my eye!

Blimey it made me feel broody though. And as for the thought of making babies with Orlando Bloom.....

kittya · 19/01/2011 10:13

Shes only being doing it for a couple of weeks!! wait and see.

I have to say though, I think the Australians are very pro breastfeeding, look at Danni.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 19/01/2011 10:14

ooo porto - I could have written your entire post Grin

Portofino · 19/01/2011 10:15

Was it just me that thought it was a genuinely lovely picture WITHOUT thinking immediately of the BF/FF debate? Hmm

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 19/01/2011 10:16

nope Porto - not just you

5inthebed · 19/01/2011 10:17

Beautiful photo. She looks so good Envy

kittya · 19/01/2011 10:17

Ive never got the Orlando thing, I think he's too young for me!

SleepingLion · 19/01/2011 10:19

I had to laugh when I read your post, Porto, because when I posted the link, although I thought the pic was lovely and natural, I didn't post it in an 'Ooh look she's breastfeeding!' moment - I just liked it having not been staged for a magazine. There's something off about selling pics of your baby but I accept that people like Brangelina donate the money to charity. Some don't, though, do they, Natalie Cassidy?

I wonder if Elton did with his massive spread in OK this week? I have refrained my self from buying it so far..... Smile

Portofino · 19/01/2011 10:27

I think all the money went to charity in Elton's case.

kittya · 19/01/2011 10:28

I imagine it would.

Portofino · 19/01/2011 10:29

And 9ib 12 with no pain relief! Ouch!

Snorbs · 19/01/2011 10:49

It is indeed a lovely picture. Although I was very Hmm about the claim she was "make-up free". I don't think I've ever seen anyone with lips that are that colour naturally. Still, wouldn't be the first time the Daily Mail printed lies.

SleepingLion · 19/01/2011 12:10

Yes, that was my first thought when I read the 'make-up' free line: she is definitely wearing some kind of lipgloss!

WanderingSheep · 19/01/2011 12:19

God, I wished I'd looked like that post birth! Envy I'm sure she's got a bit of blusher on though! Hmm

Sazisi · 19/01/2011 12:57

It's a beautiful photograph first and foremost, but I do think it's a lovely depiction of breastfeeding also.

I liked that she said although she had no pain-relief, it was really hard work. I get very Envy and also a bit sceptical when people go on about their natural birth being a total breeze! All of mine were hellish, despite being fairly straight forward with no complications.

Sazisi · 19/01/2011 12:59

Yes, I think wearing natural-looking make-up is what they mean by slebs 'not wearing a scrap'!

ethelina · 19/01/2011 13:00

Wanderingsheep I just thought the same thing - wish I looked that good. Good for her, bit of slap goes a long way for self-esteem - no-one wants to look shit in postnatal photos do they?

thighsmadeofcheddar · 19/01/2011 13:01

Oh she's lovely. She is from my hometown in Aus (tiny country town). Fabulous picture.

purits · 19/01/2011 13:09

That photo is clever in so many ways.
She is shown breastfeeding - tick.
Because baby is breatfeeding we cannot actually see its face so privacy is protected - tick.
Daddy took photo, not sleb mag so integrity preserved - tick.

No way is she 'not wearing makeup'.

Longstocking2 · 19/01/2011 13:48

lovely picture, good to use slebs to promote bf for those who can and find it possible. Positive image.

But remember similar of Ange who seemed to bf more for the purpose of the photo than to actually bf. miaow.

TwoIfBySea · 19/01/2011 14:49

That is one of the most beautiful mother and baby photos I've seen. Again, it is wonderful she is bf but lets not use that as a stick to beat up those of us who couldn't. Am glad they aren't making a big song and dance fuss but just showing a lovely family photo - so sweet.

bupcakesandcunting · 19/01/2011 15:19

She is beautiful. I am not insanely jealous. I looked like a mother manatee feeding her youngling at that stage of motherhood Grin

Oh and to those bleating on about BF - STFU. Some of us couldn't, OK? Thank you :)

MoonUnitAlpha · 19/01/2011 15:24

I think it's a beautiful photo, very natural and intimate!
