Just in case no one opens a better one

I thought it was really stylish. I think it's a matter of feeling comfortable in something though, you can never be confident if you are not sure your outfit is doing you justice and is gaping over the bazooms/might fall down/ ride up/make your bum look big etc.,

Maybe, MrsLN, but a youthful bloom always helps! I was wondering whether the dress had a Mad Men vibe because I haven't seen the show either (a friend was singing its praises to me recently, so I'll have to rectify that omission). The clothes in A Single Man, by the way, are gorgeous. As you'd expect in a film directed by Tom Ford.

Yes, Theresa, I know that I'm in the extremely fortunate position of having confirmed his existence with a prolonged Sacred Glimpse and so perhaps it doesn't behove me to question why people hang around outside stage doors or take home movies of the back of his head. I suppose I've long since exhaled any air molecules that we might have shared.

::eerie Psycho music::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/01/2011 22:43

I really must get back into clothes again IYSWIM, I really used to like them and now I am starting to look like a bag lady.

At least I have gone off another earlier passion, i.e. feeding my face non-stop, and I would now be able to get into the clothes I have, if I had the impetus to sort out the disaster zone that is my wardrobe...

I did Stage Door Lurkage for Colin Firth many moons ago... Blush A friend and I found a semi-legitimate reason through our jobs but it was seriously borderline :)

MrsLN, norkage huge issue here (nobody would beat me in a norkage contest, sadly) but on someone else I utterly HEART that dress! Fantastic.

So the verdict is I need to order the dress and get busy on the Wii fit then? Grin

Haven't seen A Single Man, but Tom Ford...if he was A Straight Man I'd be very tempted Grin!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 17/01/2011 22:55

Tell us about your Vogue habit, Theresa. My wardrobe needs a revamp and I have ordered a dress today. The moment of truth will be when it's delivered and fails to hide the wobbly bits.

Having listened to Colin Firth talking about the process of making A Single Man I have concluded that he is just utterly lovely. In a wish he lived next door and we could have nice little chats over the fence kind of way. All of which gives me a pretext to show this again.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 17/01/2011 22:57

::Wonders if the Good Doctor could arrange a transplant of some of her excess norkage in a Limpopowards direction::

MrsLucasNorth · 17/01/2011 23:01

You don't want a bum transplant as well by any chance do you Theres?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/01/2011 23:05

That has to be one of my all-time fave movie moments, Techno. Such fun for us, and the actors seem to be having such fun ,too.

Ah the shame of it, I used to buy the fashion mags and cut out pics of stuff I lusted over so I could hit the shops on my trips back home. Now I reckon I have one of every item known to woman in the timeless classic category, and cannot in truth justify buying more. Especially since I never go out anywhere remotely special any more and live in my old baggy jeans.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/01/2011 23:06

Thank you very much for your kind offer, MrsLN, but I already have rather too much bummage of my own.

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 17/01/2011 23:06

Mr Firth probably does live next door, Techno... everybody else seems to! :)

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 17/01/2011 23:12

Sadly no, twiggy - one allegedly does and one allegedly used to. That's all. Benefits of living in a densely-populated urban area with (or so the estate agents claim) good transport links to the West End. Actually, my dream next door neighbour would be Stephen Fry, although he'd probably not be much good at the popping round to mow the lawn stuff.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 17/01/2011 23:17

Michael Aspel lives near us, but I wouldn't call him my dream neighbour!!!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/01/2011 23:20

I think I can safely say that no one lives near us!
No one who is anyone, that is. Grin

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 17/01/2011 23:23

I don't believe it, Theresa. I am quite sure that le tout Limpopo, the cream of Limpopo society, is on your doorstep.

MrsLucasNorth · 17/01/2011 23:23

We're about 8 miles up the road from Zoe Ball and Fatboy Slim. Once bumped into Chris Eubank (almost literally) whilst out shopping!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 17/01/2011 23:24

Oh I love Mr Slim. Do you think his friends call him Fat?

::wink::

I'm going to bed now. Good night one and all.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/01/2011 23:29

Yummy cravat, there, Techno, truly a thing of beauteous folds

Ah, but does le tout Limpopo count as anyone? Actually when out and about, friends often nudge me and say isn't that so and so, but as I have never heard of said so and so, not being a great watcher of Limpopoian media I wouldn't know them from Adam.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 17/01/2011 23:30

I don't really get the swoon and thud factor on that one Techno.

I love you, even though it's irrational and I've tried to talk myself out of it cos basically your family are a bit crap and totally beneath me

Can't say as I'd be terribly impressed with that as an opening line for a proposal tbh!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/01/2011 23:31

Slimboy Fat I should imagine.

Goodnight and sweet Milton dreams, Techno.Second star on the right, and straight on till morning...

No, but he's so moody and arrogant when he says it, one wants to bring him down a peg or two while glorying in his dark brooding good looks

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 17/01/2011 23:34

Right I must be off too. Night all!

MrsLucasNorth · 17/01/2011 23:35

Yes, and he does do much better the second time round (still no contest with another tall dark, brooding type though!) Grin
