Golly, a tad more decorative than Hugo Drax and Ernst Blofeld, perhaps

Cap America is a Marvel Comic thing, isn't it? Depends on the age of your DCs, Snowy, I should think.

Quite small so that might be pushing it. Will have to take older nephew instead.

I think he is more of a henchman perhaps, than chief baddie. The chief baddie is the Red Skull played by Hugo Weaving, IIRC.

But his character plays an important role in the creation story of CA.

PrairieOyster · 02/01/2011 22:13

Or I should say the origin story of CA.

SnowyMoon · 02/01/2011 22:16

Oooh I am intrigued. What is his character called?

Theresahollyinyourmind · 02/01/2011 22:17

Hope he stands round a lot with his arms crossed, smouldering...

I must say I am a very bad fangirl, i have not gone out and bought the last ten years worth of CA comics. Or even one. TBH the whole shebang sounds rather silly, but i am prepared to be persuaded otherwise.

I will probably go on my own (no distractions!), unless my SIL manages to work some magic on her prop assistant chum. I think it's unlikely tbh, but I can hope...Grin!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 02/01/2011 22:18

Heinz something. Like the Beanz

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 02/01/2011 22:18

Heinz Kruger I believe...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 02/01/2011 22:21

PMSL at the cinema staff wondering why all these sensible=looking but glam mature ladies are going to a kiddies/geeky teenager's film. Several times!

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 02/01/2011 22:25

Can just imagine us all going back time and again, each time with a different child/children in tow as an excuse Grin!

PrairieOyster · 02/01/2011 22:25

Yes it's Heinz Kruger so as it's part of the CA canon you can probably find out quite a lot.

Have you not seen the clips of when they were filming one of his scenes? On YT.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 02/01/2011 22:27

Perhaps we could go in different disguises too, to throw them off the scent.

I remember once going to a film in our local flicks where everyone knew me, and pretending I was taking my friend who hadn't seen it before. I even bought 'her' a ticket and kept looking around crossly to see if 'she'd' arrived.

Funny thing is I can't remember what the damn film was now!

OP posts:
SnowyMoon · 02/01/2011 22:30

I saw some early clips of filming in Manchester but he was wearing jeans and a jacket so didn't help much with the role Grin.

I am putti g together my cinema list now...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 02/01/2011 22:32

The ones in Manchester, do you mean, Oyster?

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 02/01/2011 22:33

I was about 15 when Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves came out. My friend had a thing about Kevin Costner, and I had a huge crush on Bryan Adams (they played the full length vid of everything I do at the end of the film).

Our local cinema is a very old fashioned one, and we'd pay to go in, then sneak off to loos before the lights went up at the end of the first showing, and come back out when they went down at the beginning of the next one!

PrairieOyster · 02/01/2011 22:34

Do you need a child as an excuse? I will go with my OH and kids if the certificate is OK, but it could be PG-13 possibly, which wouldn't work for us.

Otherwise I will go on my own. Sad I know, but not sure if I would be able to muster a girls night out to see CA.

MrsLucasNorth · 02/01/2011 22:34

He's in a submarine at one point isn't he? For someone with a slight fear of water, he seems to always end up filming around the stuff.

I guess he's a fan of the 'feel the fear and do it anyway' theory!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 02/01/2011 22:35

I have done that one as well...

OP posts:
Theresahollyinyourmind · 02/01/2011 22:36

The two for the price of one cinema thing, not the water.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 02/01/2011 22:37

I love going to the pictures on my own tbh. I thinks it's such a luxury to choose what you want and watch it with no distractions, and get really lost in what's on screen. Especially if you can get away with going on a week day afternoon - heaven!

Most of my friends think I'm mad...Grin!

MrsLucasNorth · 02/01/2011 22:38

I assume you weren't referring to submarine travel or waterboarding Holly!

MrsLucasNorth · 02/01/2011 22:38

And i think not thinks, obviously....
