Oh yes I can open that one missy Grin.

Leaving your cards a bit late aren't you? Hmm

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 22/12/2010 21:00

Indeed. I used to be apathetic but now I can't be bothered. Wink

SnowyMoon · 22/12/2010 21:05

Xmas Grin. Hope you're hand delivering through the snow.

A propos earlier quotes about hearts and other parts clenching. As I finish my Christmas card writing (thank Anthony Trollope for the invention of first class post) I am listening to bits of the Cotton Club on my YT juke box. Richard Gere has just told another man's woman

You do move me. I don't know why, but you do move me. In unusual places.

SnowyMoon · 22/12/2010 21:16

I like that quote, I feel exactly that viewing some of the offerings within the academy. Sad isn't it Grin

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 22/12/2010 21:21

Yes, I thought the quote might strike a chord with some of the academics.

Posting day, schmosting day. I often end up posting cards the day before Christmas Eve and they always seem to arrive in time, I guess because the PO is desperate to get them out of the way.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 22/12/2010 21:34

Curses, ny computer decided to go into a doze and I have only just shaken it awake.
I like the Gere quote but am sort of wondering what the unusual places were. As opposed to the usual ones.

According to Twitter, the Man is off to NZ in January...

Which was a total non sequitur, you understand.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 22/12/2010 21:42

January? Goes out to dig up local pavement while she still has the chance. Presumably its resale value will rise while he's away.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 22/12/2010 21:48

Back in the summer, though, apparently. So you will have further pavement acquiring opportunities. Mind you, the way these things go, nothing is certain, is it?

Yes, I know, death and taxes...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 22/12/2010 21:54

The weather might do that for us, Snowy. But we have to be noble and let him exercise his Art.

PrairieOyster · 22/12/2010 21:57

Hi Guys - just checking in -taking a little break from Armitagemania while I watch True Grit with Jeff Bridges. Back later...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 22/12/2010 21:58

Hi Oyster. Have fun and enjoy.

PassTheTwiglets · 22/12/2010 22:19

Evening all. Watching Spooks S3 here. Not as good a series, is it? Lovely Adam aside. Can't believe we still have 3 more series to go before Mr North arrives!

Missy, LOVE Mr Thornton at bottom left!

For thos sad about The Hobbit, the DVD extras will be great. Lord Of The Rings extras were *amazing and loads of cast interviews...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 22/12/2010 22:29

Hello, Twiggy.I have to admire your Spooks dedication.

The photos of Mr Thornton were all so lovely weren't they, and eight all together is almost too much...

Johnny, do you really think we neglect you sometimes?

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 22/12/2010 22:31

The mail order pavement-selling scheme, Holly, is my pension plan. But 'tis also a public service to all those academics who whom it's too far to come and stroke the pavements of SE London themselves.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 22/12/2010 22:34
PassTheTwiglets · 22/12/2010 22:41

Missy, I can barely even remember as it's been so forgettable. Tom left at the start of the series and Zoe went off to Chile and Adam's wife (is it just me or are they totally unbelieveable?) joined MI5.

PassTheTwiglets · 22/12/2010 22:42

Off to bed now... night everyone!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 22/12/2010 22:42

''Notices numerous spelling and grammatical errors in her last post''

then you're in good company, Missy. My excuse is the low wattage of the storm lanterns here.

Does Mr Thornton really think we neglect him, as you intimated last night, or is he just fishing for compliments? The rogue...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 22/12/2010 22:43

Night Twiggy. Sweet dreams!

bupcakesandcunting · 22/12/2010 22:54

What is polish cordial please? I feel like an ageing aunt desperately trying to be down wid da kidz :(

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 22/12/2010 22:55

Good night Twiggy!

Does Mr Thornton think we neglect him? I don't know. Shall I ask him?

My point, such as it was, was that when it comes to reviewing and critiquing our academic resources, we probably look at rather more for Guy and Lucas than we do for Mr Thornton.

But I shall take a small step towards rectifying that now. .

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 22/12/2010 22:57

Hello cupcakes. Polish cordial is vodka. It was first brought into the Academy by Holly, who used it to get me tipsy so that I would succumb to Mr Thornton's entreaties.

Would you like some? Vodka, that is.

And don't pull the aging aunt schtick here. I was reading a thread yesterday on which you gave away your age youth. Xmas Wink

Theresahollyinyourmind · 22/12/2010 22:58

Polish Cordial is our pet name for vodka, cupcakes. We thought it sounded more genteel {wink}
