Welcome to the new common room! Grab yourself some Twiglets and a glass of Chateau Gisborne or some Polish Cordial and come on in - the water's lovely!

I have always adored the Muppets and, indeed, Ms Piggy may be my alter ego.

I found the Roman costume mighty fine. The plumed helmet showed off the aquiline profile to good advantage, I thought.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 05/12/2010 21:03

Kermit has to be my biggest pre-Armitage crush.

Oooh, scrummy. I did rather heart the plumed helmet. We can dig out the Latin, then. Was there a toga? I am sure I remember a toga.

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/12/2010 21:19

I didn't spot a toga, but there was the leather miniskirt. And a horse.

MrsLucasNorth · 05/12/2010 21:20

So much to catch up on YT-wise - thank goodness DH is going out tomorrow night!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 05/12/2010 21:33

Mrs LN, have you got time for a quick glass?

A spare corpse, eh, something no good spook should ever leave home without.

I remember reading somewhere the theory that RH S3 never really happened, it was just Guy's dream and he wakes up at the end of it. I can't remember whether said dream occurred pre- or post- the Marion kebab.

It is unbearably sad to say goodbye to such fascinating characters, but maybe it's better than their becoming debased coinage, from over-exposure. I am sure the actor who plays, say, Ian Beale, wishes he'd never started

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/12/2010 21:41

I notice, Theresa, that you seem extremely au courant with Eastenders. Do you have it beamed to the Limpopo?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 05/12/2010 21:49

Oh, yes, the dear Beeb makes sure we Limpopo dwellers are never without our weekly doses of the quaint denizens of Albert Square. We tend to watch more than we would in Blighty because it's just about the only program they show that was made after colour TV started

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/12/2010 21:58

I gave up on EastEnders very many years ago, but I'm sure Ian Beale was in it even then. If the Beeb fare you get is as shoddy as that, it's a good job that the Amazon delivery canoe can make it up the Limpopo.

Did I post this one earlier? .

PrairieOyster · 05/12/2010 22:09

I also had a crush on RR when I was about 12! But I had no way to indulge my crush except for the odd viewing of Butch Cassidy or The Sting or whatnot.

I don't have BtS but I do have a (so far) unwarched copy if Frozen!!

By the way there are all the relevant clips of Cleopatra on YouTube on this channel - I think that's right.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 05/12/2010 22:13

That look Alan gives him in the changing the ye Gappe teeshirte scene is hilarious! And so is the flaming arrow going past Guy on the way to the cave full of gunpowder. You can see his think ''Oh, poo!''

Bodenbabe · 05/12/2010 22:16

Evening all. Dashing in and out tonight Roman get-up a no-no for me I'm afraid.

Flowers, I agree with you about people hanging on forlornly to the hope of Lucas returning. There is no possibility at all, as far as I'm concerned :(

Theresaholeinyourmind · 05/12/2010 22:17

My computer refuses to play, Oyster. I shall have to go the long way round, when YT unsticks itself for me, that is.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 05/12/2010 22:18

No plumed helmets for you, Boden? You are obviously a 21st century chick.

MrsLucasNorth · 05/12/2010 22:18

Am being good and getting on with RL tonight - well relatively speaking.

DD is currently fairy mad - she made them a hotel out of a shoebox over half term and we have to keep leaving notes and little gifts from the fairies to say thank you for their stay and she writes them letters too.

Last night the Guest Book went missing (has actually fallen out and is in among a heap of teddies - anyhoo...am making a new one for her 'By Appt to the fairy king & queen' no less.

The things we do for our offspring...Grin

Bodenbabe · 05/12/2010 22:25

Oh MrsLN, that's so cute! Does she have her own tooth fairy? My DD writes to 'her' tooth fairy and she leaves notes back for DD. Fairy's name is Esmerelda Sparkle-Tooth :)

Btw, Theresa, you mentioned Smiley Guy?

Night night

Theresaholeinyourmind · 05/12/2010 22:26

How sweet, Mrs LN. But she's exercising her imagination. That has to be better than ready-made toys.

MrsLucasNorth · 05/12/2010 22:33

It's lovely and I do everything I can to encourage it tbh. I'd love to think she will maintain that sense of wonder about the real world as she grows up.

Boden - am loving the sound of Esmerelda. DD is a pita for cleaning her teeth so may have try that idea and see if it motivates her a bit!

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/12/2010 22:38

My Will Smith dvd last night got a thumbs down, so I shall try again. Here is a short presentation on

PrairieOyster · 05/12/2010 22:42

Been doing some much needed revision - love the chocolate body paint.

The Grease videos are very educational - I would like to offer this reference to complement...

MrsLucasNorth · 05/12/2010 22:45

Wow - Flowers, I think the amker of that vid certainly knows their stuff.

Absolutely loving 1.01

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/12/2010 22:46

That walk always brings joy into my humdrum life, Oyster.

MrsLucasNorth · 05/12/2010 22:46

And completely off topic but...

Tom Ford - now there's a waste to the female population if ever there was one

Theresaholeinyourmind · 05/12/2010 22:46

That was interesting, Flowers. Mr Thornton with Italian subtitles, no less. And a nice shot of Guy hoisting himself aboard dear ol' Richie, in his long black sinister raincoat.
Makes me feel like giving up coloured clothes 4eva.

asmallbunchofflowers · 05/12/2010 22:49

Was that the tuxedo creating the wibble, MrsLN? I love that (for reasons unclear) Mr Thornton is speaking Italian. The very thought.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 05/12/2010 22:54

How about singing Italian?

''When the moon hits the sky
Like a big pizza pie,
That's amore...

The tuxedo is certainly wibble-worthy and tres 007.
