Hello ladies. Hic.

Thud factor may not be the most sensitive description for the final scenes of Spooks 9, Oyster!

And, yes, I had noticed that TeenageTwitterLucas's Kevin and Perry's grasp of English grammar was not always the strongest. Unlike our limpid prose, innit.

Oh, Flower's,Wink that was a three hankie job. Beautiful!

asmallbunchofflowers · 30/11/2010 00:01

Yes. Its lovely, isnt it? I love La Streisand. She has Attitude. I have several of her record's.

I'm going to bed now but shall we have a more uptempo vid? ; it has costermongers merchandis'e in it.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/11/2010 00:06

Well we do sseem to be into costernongers apostrphe's, today, courtesy of kevin and Perry.
Goodnight. I am slowly growing cross eyed and must go to sleep too, must be all the stress I have had to contend with today.
So more typos than usual i expect.

asmallbunchofflowers · 30/11/2010 00:09

I am abandoning the costermonger's apostrophe now, for fear it will stick.

'Twas a funny old day. Goodnight and see you on the morrow (unless either of us has the strength to stay away).

Have just thought of a new possible role for RA. T'know how he's been quoted lately as saying he wants to something lighter.

Well I'm thinking of a certain literary character, same kind of age, also hailing from Leicester, sweet but geeky (which we know RA can pull off)...are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Bodenbabe · 30/11/2010 08:24

MrsLN, please tell me you're not thinking of Adrian Mole :o Although, come to think of it...

I really liked that LoveGame video. I only know Guy from YT but it had several of my favourite moments in it, including the Fringe Flop after he pulls his jumper on over his head. Can't beat a Fringe Flop. I was intrigued to see him kiss Marian's head really tenderly - is he nice to her as well then? I thought he was always aloof and a bit mean to her. Makes the ending all the more sad.

And oh poor, poor little Lucas, having flashbacks to Russia :( I don't know the story about Sarah yet though.

Tee hee at all your costermongers apostrophe's last night :) Oh and Flowers, you did make me giggle with your comment about Oyster's 'thud factor' :)

OK, off for the school run in the snow.

asmallbunchofflowers · 30/11/2010 09:45

MrsLN - at Adrian Mole. And having seen Harry Potter at the weekend I can see that there is enough of a resemblance that Young Mr Radcliffe could play the younger Adrian.

Boden - I'm only teasing Oyster about the thud factor. I don't want to say more just in case Theresa does one day brace herself to watch Spooks 9. And even as a Guy sceptic, I find that scene where he gently kisses Marian's head very endearing.

My plans for the morning have fallen apart because we are now virtually snowed in, in that there is now no public transport and I dare not venture out by car. So it's a morning of ironing (I gave Dixon the morning off), Robin Hood series 2 and intermittent MNing. Once I've thawed out.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofflowers · 30/11/2010 09:48

I'll let Theresa (Emeritus Professor of Gisborne Studies) give a fuller analysis of Guy's character and attitude towards Marian, but I'm guessing that her critique will contain such words as conflicted and inconsistent.

OP posts:
Bodenbabe · 30/11/2010 09:52

I know you were teasing but it still made me laugh :)

What a nuisance about your plans, Flowers. Do you have Offspring at home or are they all at school? A morning of RH sounds lovely, enjoy!

Bodenbabe · 30/11/2010 10:01

I have been doing some early-morning excavation in the basement and and I have unearthed a real treat for us all for tonight :)

asmallbunchofflowers · 30/11/2010 10:03

It's not a big deal about the plans - it was only errands at the bank and the ilk, although I might have rewarded myself with a warming cocoa at one of our chichi cafes. I only have one Offspring (my sole contribution to the gene pool) and she's at school, but past experience leads me to expect an urgent communication from the school to say that they're closing early. What larks, Pip.

May I share my latest discovery?

StripeyMoon · 30/11/2010 10:09

Good morning all, snow here too causing a bit of traffic chaos but nothing like oop north.

Still no sign of a response from my ebayer - how long before I complain?

asmallbunchofflowers · 30/11/2010 10:14

Hello, Stripey.

I've only once complained about an Ebay seller. It turned out that she had been away and everything turned out fine, but making the complaint did seem to get things moving. How many emails has your seller ignored? If it's two or more I'd complain now.

OP posts:
Bodenbabe · 30/11/2010 10:15

That was pretty, Flowers. Though when I see clips of dancing like that, it always makes me

Stripey, what a nuisance. I would definitely open an Item Not Received dispute against the seller.

StripeyMoon · 30/11/2010 10:19

Well we paid for it 10 days ago and have sent two emails asking about when it is being sent. I don't like to get into the complaining thing but am very aggrieved at missing John Porter!

By the way, if any of you use talk talk / tiscali email, you may not have noticed that it has a tendency to advertise things you have been viewing on the internet i.e. if you have been on Halfords website looking at bike racks and advert will come up next to the emails for Halfords bike racks! Currently mine is showing two RA mugs and a Thrill at the Mill t shirt Blush.

StripeyMoon · 30/11/2010 10:20

If anyone knows how to stop this please can you tell me?!

asmallbunchofflowers · 30/11/2010 10:30

Oh, Boden, this isn't helping me get the ironing done. I am not very conversant with the oeuvre of Armstrong and Miller but think I should be.

Stripey - That doesn't happen to me. Presumably it occurs when you access your mail via the site itself. (Just as well, as in trying to find a mildly saucy painting of Mr Toby Stephens yesterday I was taken to a Very Rude Site Indeed and had to decontaminate the 'puter. And my brain). So, what size Thrill at the Mill t-shirt (100% organic, made in Milton) did you order?

OP posts:
StripeyMoon · 30/11/2010 10:32

I didn't order any! It was just the stuff I looked at when posting the link. I can just imagine DHs face if he happens to pay any attention to the side bars.

Is the second part of Dibley on today?

asmallbunchofflowers · 30/11/2010 10:39

Do we believe your denial, Stripey?

Dibley isn't, I fear, on any channel we have but .

OP posts:
Bodenbabe · 30/11/2010 10:42

Yes, I think it is on today, Stripers. I won't be able to watch, I don't think :(

If you open a dispute, Paypal will almost definitely refund you in full, so you can buy another disc elsewhere. And you don't have to get into emailing the seller that way either, eBay do it all for you.

Flowers, Armstrong & Miller are fabulous. You have probably seen the RAF pilots, have you? That's probably

StripeyMoon · 30/11/2010 10:50

They played that clip yesterday Flowers, makes me laugh everytime.

Love Armstrong and Miller too Boden.

Think I will start a dispute then, seems the only way to move it forward and then at least I can go and get it somewhere else.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/11/2010 10:51

Hello all. My sympathies at your intrusive advertising dilemma, Stripey. I have no idea how to stop it, being technologically challenged.I only get hassled by YT and Amazon.

My audio books still haven't turned up. What with your Strike Back I am beginning to detect a worrying pattern.

I must hasten to stress I make no claim to be a world authority on Gisbornian matters. I just love the guy to bits. My personal and only tentative theory is that if he does view her as a prize and status symbol at the outset, he gradually realises that he really does love her, for her courage and intelligence as well as her beauty. So much so that he allows her to run rough-shod over him and his feelings, more or less right to the end. When he snaps with tragic consequences.
As for Marion, she has deep feelings for him too, but as she's much younger than Gisborne she is afraid of them and turns to nice safe untroubling Robin, her childhood sweetheart.
But what do I know? I am just trying to figure out how anyone could resist him Grin

StripeyMoon · 30/11/2010 10:56

I think you are spot on Theresa.

The only way I think you can understand her resisting is if you think about someone who is a bit of a stalker really, if you just don't fancy them and they are incredibly persisitant then actually it's not romantic but a bit scary.
