And here are our study materials for the evening. Not sure if we've had them before, but have tried to find new ones - is getting trickier Grin!

Enjoy!

He must have been, she's passed out again, it seems.

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 21/11/2010 23:26

The dancing was all too brief but funny. The joke is that the Christmas tree will grant three wishes. The first turns the couple's poky flat into (as it was) the set for Design for Living and the second turns him into Mr Armitage. Their 'thing' is then to dance down the staircase like Fred and Ginger.

He is tall, dark, handsome and smiles. He is also obviously a good sport. What more can I say?

MrsLucasNorth · 21/11/2010 23:27

Oh, be still my beating heart...

Teri - He was sitting directly opposite me. I might have peeked.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/11/2010 23:31

You can't have everything, I suppose. But you got almost everything. I hope you sent out massive waves of respect and admiration, together with the subliminal message that he was very much appreciated by a select band of intellectual ladies who gather on t'interweb.

MrsLucasNorth · 21/11/2010 23:33

Shame we didn't know you were going - you could've passed on the script for a 'Day in the Life of Guy Thornton-North'...Grin!

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/11/2010 23:35

Peeked at what??
Ponders fruitbowl, speculatively

How did you stop yourself from dissolving into a huge puddle of goo and ruining that seat for the lifetime of the Old Vic

''A very refined-looking lady was stiing there. But she seems to have disappeared''

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 21/11/2010 23:36

Indeed I did, Theresa, indeed I did.

Did I also say that it was a cracking evening? The audience were whooping from the moment Kevin Spacey came on stage. As discussed passim, we live very close to the Old Vic and every year I read the blurb for the 24 Hour Plays and think "that sounds fabulous". This year I thought "that sounds fabulous" and picked up the phone. We have resolved to go again next year even if Mr Armitage isn't in it the cast list is different.

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 21/11/2010 23:38

Drat! I knew I should have climbed over the other people to outline my proposal for My Bad Boy Byron! It clear went out of my mind. (As others may think I have).

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/11/2010 23:38

It's all right for you Mrs LN, I am googling for medieval loos for a little divertissement I'm toying with.

Not nearly as compelling as Flowers' blockbuster news.

PS, Flowers, The burning question

Would you?

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 21/11/2010 23:41

Would I what, Teri?

Tell you what, I could exhale into an old Polish Cordial bottle as some of those molecules must previously have been in the Armitage lungs. You could then bid for it on Ebay, along with the pavement.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/11/2010 23:44

I hope you are going to write a 1000 page report on your experience when you have sorted yourself out and got your breath back, sometime like next month.

Would you give him your last Rolo of course. What do you think I meant?

MrsLucasNorth · 21/11/2010 23:46

Beautifully put Theresa - although if I'd been there I'm pretty sure I'd have had something else altogether in mind...

Mrs LN, euphemism is my particular forte

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 21/11/2010 23:49

I have just been looking at YT. The Old Vic put a clip there about last year's plays so I guess they will put something from tonight up too.

I need to stop gushing now, don't I?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/11/2010 23:51

No you don't Flowers. Gush away. This is the nearest a lot us are ever going to get to him. Bless his little cotton socks Wink

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/11/2010 23:54

What was his hair like? Long, short w/ w/o sideburns? What did he wear? Tan or no tan?
Etc etc etc.

MrsLucasNorth · 21/11/2010 23:54

Flowers - where do you find out about this stuff going on? I must admit I've signed up to OV's mailing list on the off-chance that our man is back from Hobbit land in time for next year's performance (and would be quite interested anyway), but otherwise as clueless (although I suspect that buying the Guardian and Times of a weekend only works of you actually make the time to read them).

Am only and hour or so from London and have family in SE region, but would have to plan in advance is any other - ahem - opportunities came up Grin!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 21/11/2010 23:59

Flowers , or any other of the academicians on here of course, if that were to be the case. Your seeing him is the next best thing to seeing him myself as I know how much you will have appreciated the experience. And no doubt blushed hotly if you remembered any of our goings-on here.

MrsLucasNorth · 22/11/2010 00:02

"And no doubt blushed hotly if you remembered any of our goings-on here"

pmsl!

Oh golly. As previously remarked, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition. (Evening was compered by John Cleese, coincidentally).

He looked very fine. Like Lucas but without the angst. As mentioned, he smiled.

MrsLucasNorth · 22/11/2010 00:07

"Like Lucas but without the angst"

That's pretty much my definition of perfection Flowers (not to mention GTN!)

...I'm never going to be able to sleep now....

OP posts:
PrairieOyster · 22/11/2010 00:09

So jealous Flowers - obviously I didn't go.

A full and detailed report is required.

I've been following a lady there on twitter who sat next to him on the bus to the party and talked to him and had her photo taken.

I've also read a couple of reports on C19 from people who went including one from Annette who runs Richardarmitageonline and who also went.

Green with envy!!
