... how long could you survive with what you have in your house right now?

Do you have any tins/bottled water etc put away in case of a emergency?

Have been frealing myself out reading some wacky conspiray sites (all baging on about something huge happeneing in the next 2 weeks) - Im not be;lieveing it, but it has made me think that one day there could be an event and I probably would only last a week with my store cupboard!

Another forum discussing it here

I feel a bit better that its a David Icke forum and therefore classified mental Grin

Oh deary me - so wish I hadn't watched that Timewave thing Ripeberry!

MaDuggar · 04/11/2010 12:30

That house in Devon with the Nuke bunker brings back memories. The blast door is exactly as I remember was at the entrance to our block of flats nuclear bunker in Switzerland.

I think only the Swiss will survive anything big as every flat and house has one!

Ripeberry · 04/11/2010 12:35

Maduggar, to me a Bivvi bag is a big waterproof bag that you can chuck everything in and if necessary you can sleep in it out in the open if you don't have a tent.
It would have to be waxed cotton though.

Some people have 'survival bags' and these are made of strong silver foil and keep you warm. Have a look in your local camping shop.

Best set up is a large camouflage tarpaulin with a hammock. Set up in the woods, off the ground so no bugs and the tarpaulin as a roof.

Been reading too much of my SAS book I found in a charity shop Grin

NorhamGardens · 04/11/2010 12:36

Doesn't worrying about this sort of stuff give it 'energy' if that makes any sense? Freaks me out anyway.

MaDuggar · 04/11/2010 12:37

Ive read that a 100% wool blanket will keep you warm even when wet? any truth in that?

MaDuggar · 04/11/2010 12:38

You could have a point Horham. Plus no-one has said the tipping point has to be negative, it could easily be positive (I hope lol).

NorhamGardens · 04/11/2010 12:40

What is the, gulp, 'tipping point'? Be gentle, please. :)

SarahStrattonsSparkler · 04/11/2010 12:42

Wasn't the Mayan 2012 calendar thingy just the end of an era to the Mayans? Not actually the end of the world as such. Although if it is we are apparently 2 years ahead of them

My Amazon basket is looking rather ridiculous now. I'm just praying that all this googling/adding survivial stuff to basket isn't going to attract attention. I don't want a spook visit or anything.

Thingumy · 04/11/2010 12:42

Interesting to read that bbc4 is currently broadcasting from a nuclear bunker..

SarahStrattonsSparkler · 04/11/2010 12:45
Shock
MaDuggar · 04/11/2010 12:45

Some mad web bot thingy that moniters words used on the internet (I think) to predict future evcents. A tipping point is where something big happens. It apparantly predicted 9/11 and some other events. I cant tell you What just when, so it could be anything. This tipping point is supposed to be thousands of times bigger than 9/11.

It has also been wrong many many times Grin.

OP posts:
MaDuggar · 04/11/2010 12:45

Thingmy - that has raised some serious eyebrows on some sites!

OP posts:
MaDuggar · 04/11/2010 12:46

Also a huge number of US military etc have been sent on undisclosed sercet missions. So they say.

OP posts:
Rocketbird · 04/11/2010 12:49

Why did MaDuggar get an immediate answer to her bivvi bag query? Are you implying I am dispensable in a nuclear incident?

NorhamGardens · 04/11/2010 12:51

Aren't people MAKING these things happen? By giving them air time and energy to a degree.

Ripeberry · 04/11/2010 12:51

Sorry, don't think I noticed your question Blush.

Thingumy · 04/11/2010 12:52

the only thing that freaks me out after wasting my time reading this shite is this bit about Obama's car (whilst he visits India from tomorrow)

'The president himself will be ferried around in a black Cadillac - dubbed 'Barack Mobile' - which has its own built in communications centre - to enable Obama to be in touch with the White House, US vice president and the US strategic command
The car also has the US nuke launch codes and the nuclear switch for the president. It can also withstand a chemical or germ warfare or even a bomb attack'

If true,it's very scary.

MaDuggar · 04/11/2010 12:55

Right, back from Sainsburys and I spent £138 so that has to count for something in a Doomsday scenario. I have lots of wine and lemonade but no water.

That David Icke link - someone's posted "Sollog appears to suggest that 2010-11-14 will be the date a major world politician is assassinated. GW Bush possibly". They don't exactly have their finger on the pulse of major news events, do they? I reckon they last looked up from their nutter website in 2008. Or maybe the lizard conspiracy is blocking their access to news.

MaDuggar · 04/11/2010 13:02

Grin hassled, I didnt even read that far!

MadreInglese · 04/11/2010 13:03

lol at this thread

We'd not survive very long on the contents of our cupboards but I'm sure in the case of a Doomsday Event we could just adapt DP's zombie plan of nicking a tractor and shotgun from work (he's a farmer) and driving it down to asda for supplies
