OH MY GOD

Um, how unprofessional, fingers crossed the stupid twit will be sacked.

Love your thread title... Grin
Must remember it for the next time I'm pissed off at all the awful drivers around here.

Hassled · 22/09/2010 16:53

I'm no fan of Moyles but if I hadn't been paid since July I'd have had a massive hissy fit as well.

jesuswhatnext · 22/09/2010 16:55

i dont like the bloke or his show but he has a point!, id be buggered if i would get up at fart o'clock for nothing!, he signed a contract, whether or not we agree with it is nither here nor there - he is not a charity and the bbc owe him legally earnt money, best they pay up.

ShirleyKnot · 22/09/2010 16:56

Would you have told your clients on the phone that you hadn't been paid and then moaned about it for half an hour and then said you knew exactly who the "moronic div" was who wasn't paying you?

I wouldn't do that (and I have had periods in my working life when I've had to wait to be paid) because I would probably get sacked.

Also, I hate him. Also, if he got paid in July then presumably he is only due his August pay packet of 17 billion pounds for the month (or whatever he gets) the stupid talentless scrote.

and...breathe.

Hassled, exactly what I was about to say.

It doesn't matter how much someone gets paid. If they have a contract and then fail to be paid for 2 months then imo they have a right be be pretty pissed off about it.

I cannot stand Moyles. I think he is an arrogant tosser. But I have sympathy with him on this. And I like his Daily Mail comment too.

Lulumaam · 22/09/2010 16:56

actually, i do think he can be an utter gobshite , he's not been paid for almost 2 months, whilst working . so if this shames the Beeb into sortin it, then so be it

he's obviously been patient thus far

LastOrdersAgain · 22/09/2010 16:56

Must say I'd be mightly pissed off too, and as much of a jizz bucket I think he is, if I had the chance to air my rant to millions about how shite my employers are, I would!!

ShirleyKnot · 22/09/2010 17:01

Noooo!

So unprofessional and self pitying and just embarrassing.

Seriously, if you complained and moaned to a client about your employer you would be sacked.

OP posts:
JiggeryPopery · 22/09/2010 17:06

He wasn't moaning to a client though. I don't see his listeners that way, anyway.

And after nearly 2 months tbh yes he does have a point (I've never listened to his show, I'm not a fan either)

I had a boss who repeatedly paid me late and I wasted no time in telling everyone I could think of - because the late paying was down to constant incompetance on his part and no other circumstances.

TheCrackFox · 22/09/2010 17:09

He should be paying us lot to listen to him.

StealthPolarBear · 22/09/2010 17:09

can't stand the guy but i'd be pissed off too in his poition
bet loads of ppl are listening tomorrow - he has prob done the bbc a favour

nikkershaw · 22/09/2010 17:09

i've known people who have also worked for the bbc and been paid really late

i'd be angry too

wannaBe · 22/09/2010 17:12

he has a point.

And there's probably a chance that he's not the only one and that there are some lower down the pecking order in the BBc who haven't been paid but don't have a platform to complain about it on.

And whether people like it or not, he has massive listening figures, it would not do them well to sack him because capital are going nation wide and they will snap him up in a heartbeat and then radio 1 will have serious competition for their breakfast listening figures...

ShirleyKnot · 22/09/2010 17:12

He should have sorted it out behind the scenes - not whinged about it on air though.

He thinks he's Dave Lee Travis.

OP posts:
LastOrdersAgain · 22/09/2010 17:13

I think he's a cock.

ethelina · 22/09/2010 17:17

I would also be angry. I dont blame him for using his show to publicly shame those whose fault it is. I cant say I wouldn't have done the same thing in his position. It certainly made for interesting listening.

nameymcnamechange · 22/09/2010 17:21

Well, I didn't hear it, but it sounds completely ott. Extremely unprofessional. Infact, it sounds like he's cracking up from what I read in the ops link.

Loads and loads of freelancers and self employed people have to wait more than two months for their money.

I suppose it was reasonable to say something on air if he was at the end of his tether. But to rant and rant like that? Absolutely not on.

tokyonambu · 22/09/2010 17:29

"He thinks he's Dave Lee Travis."

Without the talent.

(Voice off): Dave Lee Travis? Talent?

Exactly.

OOH that has got me thinking about that dart game that DLT used to play on the radio.

What a load of shit that was.

TBH, I don't blame CM for rtanting on. Yes he gets paid a lot, but it is crap not be have been paid for 2 months. I think that if he has just split up with his girlfreind he is probably not in the best frame of mind, might have caused the ranting.

TheCrackFox · 22/09/2010 17:36

Quack Quack Oops

pinkbasket · 22/09/2010 17:38

I am not a fan at all but having read the link I have sympathy for him.

paisleyleaf · 22/09/2010 17:50

I'm not a Moyles fan either.
But I do sympathize with him on this.
I expect he has been trying and trying again to sort this out behind the scenes.
My DH had this when he worked for our county council, they messed up and were crap to deal with - it was a nightmare time for us and took us a long long time to get ourselves straight again. And okay, Moyles' salary is huge - but he will have matched his spending to that wage, and will have a huge mortgage etc

traceybath · 22/09/2010 17:54

I listen to him in the mornings and think that he's already decided he's off and is doing a very public resignation letter.
