My sibling is a celebrity AMA

I won’t be saying who they are.

I recently spoke to a friend about it who
had lots of questions which lead to an interesting conversation, things I’d never said or thought about before.

When I was younger I used to feel incredibly jealous of them and had a very short and unsuccessful attempt at creating my own fame.

Now I’m older with my own dc and have seen the effects up close I definitely think the negatives out way the positives and it’s not something I would ever want for my children.

This feels like that game where you pin the famous persons name on your forehead and ask questions to find out who you are!

Why are you answering friends questions about them and why are you doing an AMA on mumsnet. I don’t care whether you name your “celebrity” sibling or not, you clearly don’t respect them.

So not music or acting.

TV presenting on something nationwide, reality TV or sport? Modelling?

V few reality people doing those things are recognised every time they go out and harassed by paparazzi. And still working years later.

That makes no sense. There are many famous people - often very famous, who manage to have completely private lives as well. I've seen countless very famous people on the tube, for example, and they're left alone.

Paparazzi isn't such a thing now. Some celebs call the paps though.

They get recognised wherever they go and get given special treatment or followed and harassed.
A lot of their life has been managed and controlled, they don’t do things on their own or organise things themself.
They've always had a cleaner, a nanny and a personal assistant.

Are they a reality TV star? E.g. MIC, Towie, Love Island?

Have they made enough money that they could retire or do they need to keep chasing fame?

If their current career stopped working out and they still needed to work, would they struggle to find a regular job because their name recognition would get in the way?

What age did they become famous and how come you didnt? Were you in different careers or did she just get lucky and you didnt?

This sounds really really hard.

Do you think your nieces/nephews also feel they have a lot to live up to? I've noticed this with some children of uber-famous people, like the Beckhams for example. It must be hard to have a brilliant parent if you yourself are one is average lot!

You forgot siblings muscling in on their lives and using their celebrity to win themselves some undeserved reflected glory on an anonymous website.

Has your sister has issues with drugs and alcohol and do you think it gets pushed in those circles?
