Ask me anything.

What was the last book you read?

Iho · 06/03/2026 20:24

What have been the main benefits for your DC?

I think the fact they will leave uni without debt is an incredible advantage.

Money talks, wealth whispers.

Did you ever aspire to climb the social ladder but because of your background you can’t? It’s like you’re the Rooneys of the property business.

One of my friends would say stuff like this, she is the snobbiest person I know (I find her snobbishness hilarious) - probably has the least amount of money too. Recently she came by a large inheritance - guess who was talking not whispering. 😂
I was happy for her but found it quite funny - I have more than I need, I don't have to worry about what other people have and don't have. The jealousy is strong on this thread.🙄

Love an AMA, did you send your kids to private schools? If so, did you see it as money well spent?

They went/go to a good state school. We wanted them to socialised with all different types of people, not just wealthy kids.

Hi, sounds lovely. So your home is completely mortgage free, does that include the cars and zero debts etc. Is it more assest rich if he is a property developer, do they all have mortgages on or do you have a crazy amount cash in the bank to play with. Was it done completely self made or money from inheritance that set him up.

Some of these replies are insane!

When someone posts on MN about how they're struggling on a 60k salary they're inundated with replies say they're enormously wealthy and need to read the room, and now there's someone who lives in a 2m house suddenly they're "not that rich".

You can't win on here.

Agreed! The OP is being judged for either being too rich or not really rich enough, as if she is somehow claiming to be something she isn’t. It’s a similar societal attitude at the other end of the scale. People who are just about getting by are lauded, but get really poor and you’re considered likely to be a feckless scrounger. Nothing like class prejudice and we do it so well in Britain!

What first attracted you to the millionaire DH?

Full wallet
Big bank balance
🤪🤣

Why the IoW ? Surely there are better places to have a second home ?

And how do you get there ? Do you have a Sunseeker ?

IOW is getting a hard time on this thread 😂The only other coastal area that appealed was Cornwall but it takes a lifetime to get down there.

Ferries. We have an Oyster sail yacht that stays in IOW.

Do you think pineapple is appropriate on a pizza?

grooveraidiator · 06/03/2026 20:37

Do you have enough money to take private jets several times a year??
Do you donate direct to charities?
What do you spend your money on?
Do you have a jewellery collection worth £1M +
Are you a stereotype: thin, white and hair coloured blonde?
Do you feel your balance of power is equal or in favour of your husband?

Iho · 06/03/2026 20:37

MxCactus · 06/03/2026 18:07

I'm really interested in whether you feel happy/a sense of purpose without work?

Not because there's anything wrong with not working - but mainly because the few times I've been off work on my maternity leaves I've felt so sad without the drive of my career. Both me and DH are high earning and I could actually afford not to work if I wanted, so I'm interested in what your "purpose" is each day! As that is what I've struggled with when I'm not working

Yes I'm happy, much happier than when I was working. I never felt a sense of purpose whilst I was in employment anyhow.

@Iho Does your husband feel a sense on purpose in his work?

herbalteabag · 06/03/2026 20:39

Do you have any unfulfilled dreams?

Do you have your own boat to get to IoW or do you rely on ferries? If so, have they got any more reliable recently? We used to go lot but got absolutely fed up with all the delays. We only go there now if we are on my parents yacht.

Love this question..

Ambivilentbeing · 06/03/2026 20:42

Did you want more kids?

Iho · 06/03/2026 20:42

Ferguson0909 · 06/03/2026 18:08

a few questions.
do you help out?
does he buy run down properties and do them up?
or does he purchase a block of land then develop that?
what did he do before property development?

I don't help out much. I might sort the odd invoice once in a while. He buys plots of land and builds them from scratch. He was a financial director at a surveying firm.

What’s the fist thing you’d cut back on if you had to start spending less?

Whats the last thing you’d cut??

Aluna · 06/03/2026 20:44

The actual ama is this:

Lincolnshire housewife, kids at state school, diy cleaning, hols on IoW

But that wouldn’t have got any clicks.

Throwmoneyatit · 06/03/2026 20:44

Love these!

What animals do you have?
Have you had any cosmetic surgery?
What model Mercs do you drive?
If asked, would you help out at dh company?
Favourite shoes?
Do you ever buy own brand products or are they branded?
Do you always have a full tank of fuel?

Thanks!

How much did you pay for your Oyster? Were you and DP into sailing before becoming rich?

pipthomson · 06/03/2026 20:47

How can you use your to benefit others I would consider child sponsorship if I was in your position EG people with less advantages than you people with unlimited money can be a bit crazy due to not having ordinary financial boundaries it can be difficult to put yourself in someone else’s shoes

crowsfleet · 06/03/2026 20:47

what are you hoping to get out of this post @Iho ? You know there’s lots of mums who are struggling on here

Iho · 06/03/2026 20:49

lovemetomybones · 06/03/2026 18:20

What are your thoughts on the fact that 10% of the world’s wealth is distributed amongst 90% of the world’s population? Since you have the opportunity to have so much free time and more money than the top 1% of the worlds population have you or do you help others less fortunate than yourself?

I believe capitalism is a better option than communism. We help out family mainly.

£2M mortgage free home.
Water front holiday home on the IOW.
2 Mercedes.
DH earns £600k pa.

Sorry I outstrip you and some.....really no need for this thread. Why would anyone need to ask you anything? Just dull.
