Have at it.

OP posts:
evtheria · 29/11/2025 18:50

What meat is it?

BasicBrumble · 29/11/2025 18:50

What sides have you got?

BakedAlaskaInMyTummy · 29/11/2025 18:53

What’s for pudding?

RustyShackIeford · 29/11/2025 18:54

Meats= chicken and gammon (because I want leftovers for a pie).

Sides= Roast potatoes, yorkies, cheesy cauliflower, sprouts, glazed carrots, stuffing (with garlic and nduja), and gravy.
And wine.

And why so late??

Not really a dessert household but have biscuits- very chocolately M&S ones. Also have ice-cream.

Where is my Chinese food?

They said they’d deliver at 6.30pm. It’s not here.

I am hungry. May I share your roast?

Is this late for dinner? Tend to eat early our main meal between 7-8pm most nights.

We were out and about today so couldn’t do earlier.

Come one, come all.

Nothing worse than a late Chinese- kills the anticipation/reward dopamine balance. What time was it meant to arrive? Big app (Deliveroo, JustEat etc), or phone call order to local spot?

Why are you having your Sunday dinner on Saturday night?

JudgeBread · 29/11/2025 18:59

How good does your house smell right now?

I actually just clocked that this is Saturday roast not Sunday roast. That makes a difference re time 🤣

evtheria · 29/11/2025 19:00

Why are more of us not having a Sunday roast on a Saturday night? We just had Chinese and I’m going to rest my tummy for a bit before heading to @RustyShackIeford

How big are the yorkies and how many do we get per person, please?

PuppyMonkey · 29/11/2025 18:57

Why are you having your Sunday dinner on Saturday night?

Strategic decision.

We usually have a roast on Sundays (if we’re having a roast) which means leftovers on Monday. However, we’re going away on Monday morning so decided to do Saturday night roast, Sunday leftovers, and then the rest goes in freezer for pie filling before we fly out.

My husband was just outside and, according to him, “it smells amazing out there”.

I think you’ll find this is actually against the law.Wink

@RustyShackIeford "nduja" I have never heard of this so looked it up. I love the sound of it. How spicey is it? I find things that are very, very spicey spark off my asthma. Is there something similar not too overpowering?. But it sounds like it's just begging to be spread on fairly dense, crusty bread. Yum.

TeapotCollection · 29/11/2025 19:05

What the heck is nduja?

Interesting fact, I’m not from/in the UK but make the BEST yorkies ever. They’re on the slightly smaller side (muffin tin-sized) but have allowed an embarrassing amount per person.

When we’re finished eating, we like to go out in a yorkie fondue (yorkies dipped directly into the body of leftover gravy- we’re not proud).

I also season my yorkies so they have salt, black pepper, and a little bit of thyme running through them.

It’s almost likely a spicy Italian spread made of pork fat and chilies. Tastes much, much better than it sounds.

Austria! Hitting the Christmas markets for a few days.

I’m addicted! I have it maybe 5 times a week? Usually with eggs, or in toasted sandwiches.

It’s pretty spicy, but works well in stuffing where you can eek it out and adjust the spice level.

Disappointed. I thought you were going to cook it start to finish in 30 mins. Sounds delicious though.

evtheria · 29/11/2025 19:10

Well now, I was already feeling warm
towards rebellious OP for having such a delicious meal on the wrong day of the week, but after the mention of the Yorkie fondue I am happy to declare my eternal allegiance. Afters of yorkies dipped in gravy… No more questions. Perfect AMA.
