Garlic and nduja stuffing sounds immense do you have a recipe by any chance?

Disappointed. I thought you were going to cook it start to finish in 30 mins. Sounds delicious though.

Sorry 😢

It’s 90 mins though- I’m quite proud of that? The roasties are the ones that take the longest.

We usually eat our Sunday roast at about 7pm anyway, that’s a regular dinner time for us! Well anytime usually between 7:30-9.
Normally because we spend our Sundays out and about having a walk somewhere in the countryside making the most of any dry spells of weather etc and maybe meeting up with family or doing a bit of shopping. Whatever really. The main meal of the day is eaten in the evening.

My question is - what time do you eat your christmas dinner?!

This is a good thread.

I’m not a recipe cook but I just use my standard bread stuffing recipe (onions and garlic sautéed in butter and olive oil, add breadcrumbs, thyme, rosemary, and anything else you’d like, then baked in the oven for 30 mins), but I add a big tablespoon of nduja to the onion and garlic at the start (in lieu of about half of the olive oil as it’s quite oily).

1.30pm 😢

It kills me but Christmas dinner is in my hands leery parents’ house. I cook but they call the shots, and their main meal is at lunchtime so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cracking. I'll be giving this a try next roast, thank you!

Why are you doing a roast in almost December, you should be saving yourself for Christmas now.

Soontobe60 · 29/11/2025 19:24

There is no place for n’duja on a roast dinner, and where have you left the mash???

Fiftyandme · 29/11/2025 19:25

Red or white wine?

Really? I’m having a roast dinner tomorrow (please note OP, this is the correct day for Sunday Lunch) because it’s weeks off til Christmas dinner!

60watt · 29/11/2025 19:28

Why don’t you put the stuffing inside the chicken? Clue’s in the name, no?

TheChosenTwo · 29/11/2025 19:28

@Soontobe60 we have a roast pretty much every week through the colder months!

oh dear @RustyShackIeford - that is very early indeed! We usually aim for 5pm which feels stupidly early to eat an evening meal to us but we have some older relatives who join us who are plagued with indigestion etc etc etc if they eat beyond then.
which I notice doesn’t stop them tucking into the evening buffet at 9pm 🙄

Do you not eat between November and Christmas Day? I admire your restraint. I often eat every day.

Better yet a FREE CdR because I won it at a charity raffle recently! I know that white is more fitting for chicken, but white wine gives me heartburn.

When you said Yorkie gravy fondue I thought you meant the chocolate bars.

Now I've cottoned on and YANBU.

I’m not against stuffing inside the chicken, per se, but I do prefer it a little drier so tend to do it separately.

I know that purists will say that a proper roasts requires two forms of potato, but I’m all mashed-out from my Irish childhood so it’s a skip from me, sadly.

@RustyShackIeford fair enough! Stuffing is Christmas Day only for us. You’ve got me thinking for our Sunday roast tomorrow though…
