Are your family here? Do you intend to return?

CynthiaGoodman · 27/11/2025 16:54

Is there any food you miss from Poland?

What's your favourite food you've had here that you don't have in Poland?

How often do you go back to visit?

LightDrizzle · 27/11/2025 16:57

What do you make of us?
What are the best things and what are the worst?

SpottyAardvark · 27/11/2025 16:59

Which country do you think would be the best for your children to grow up in, the U.K. or Poland? And why?

youalright · 27/11/2025 17:00

What? 🤨

Ask me anything.

Why do you not want the Polish English relationship going back to WW2 on an English website spoken about when its a big topic today?

Bludy hell, don’t hold back 🫣 Why did he think Polish and Germans ruined England?

Holluschickie · 27/11/2025 17:05

All of MN is filled with semi-literate bots regurgitating American shock-jocks these days.

CrackSpackle · 27/11/2025 17:06

I’ve heard Polish dentistry is better and less expensive than what we get here. Do you agree?

Just to help you out with your comprehension -England is not an island .
Britain was not safe in WW2.Germany had well developed plans to invade- they were called Operation Sealion ifI remember correctly.

cabjlhbojhs · 27/11/2025 17:08

What Polish books would you recommend? I've just read Drive Your Plow Over The Bones of the Dead and want to read more Polish novels.

I wouldn’t bother trying to make sense of this gibberish, OP.

Do you think English people don't clean their houses well enough?

Do you think English people aren't strict enough with their children?

How do health services compare?

Are there any traditional English meals or snacks you enjoy which you didn't experience before coming here?

youalright · 27/11/2025 17:14

Well this is fun I'm learning so much 🤣

timoteigirl · 27/11/2025 17:15

How many pierogi do you plan to make for Christmas?

Which place / city / town would you recommend to move to in Poland, with best opportunities getting a job as English speaker?

RealReginaPhalange · 27/11/2025 17:18

@Cadenza12 i have a cousin sister here (she is married and have kids as well) but about 1 hr away

@CynthiaGoodman we have actually everything here what i need but polish shops are pricey! I would miss polish ham and sandwich meat though if i couldnt get it here.

traditional sunday roast is lovely and we dont do that style over there.

i go much less now, once or twice a year but my mom comes and visit more since she is retired.

@LightDrizzle i love how no one gives a crap about other peoples appearances! In poland i wouldnt pop out to the shop without make up and in some decent clothes, everyone would gossip nasty. I am not sure what is the worst though, need to have a think, i am usually quite happy here.

@SpottyAardvark i am torn 50/50 to be honest. I miss poland but whenever i go and visit i am fed up after 2 weeks, maybe i am just used to uk that much now. It is little bit easier in poland at the moment though (day to day life) and this is tempting.

@youalright our dentistry is on completely another level comparing to uk. We really dont have as much mixed population, big difference there

RealReginaPhalange · 27/11/2025 17:22

@ThePolarEspresso No i dont. Do you feel bad for holocaust, hitler etc and what he did to us, polish people? Aushwitz for a starter.

@CrackSpackle much much better! It is cheaper but wouldn’t say “cheap”

Yes! I was in Poznan 4 years ago staying with a friend's family. Booked a dentist appt and it was great, got appt straight away, treatment brilliant and cost a fraction of UK prices

Bloody love Poland ❤️. The people, food, public transport, weather, architecture, houses -it's a brilliant country and Polish C&A (which we no longer have) is so much cheaper and better stocked 🤣

It puzzles me why Poles are here as I'd move to Poland in a heartbeat

Pollqueen · 27/11/2025 17:31

Sorry don't want to hijack your thread @RealReginaPhalange but one thing did make me laugh, kind of! My host family put a bottle of red wine on the table for our first breakfast and offered me a glass. I obviously refused because it was 8am and when I politely questioned it, was told that they thought Brits drank alcohol all day!! Is this a common misconception about us?

Nope, i think english houses can be very clean (used to be a cleaner 17yrs ago here!)

i think people are waaaay to strict here with kids and not helping young adults as much as we do in poland (obviously its not always the case)

besides dentist services, polish and english nhs is pretty much the same

i forgot about my latest discovery- CRUMPETS, love them, never had them until the few days ago. We dont have them in poland

None this year as with two young kids it is already hard as it is, but usually about 100 and freeze them, then have it once a week🫣 my mom isncoming in two months and will probably make them for me🫣

my husband would love to move to poland but i am too afraid to start again somewhere from scratch, i feel like it might be hard when u dont speak english, but would try krakow, warsaw or wroclaw, biggest cities
