People are often surprised we lasted so I though it may make a slightly interesting AMA.

How old are you now?

We are both 40.

How old was he when you were 14?

Moier · 29/05/2024 08:29

I was 15 he was 16.
Think we would have still been together but sadly he passed away after 15 years together.
Had two horrific relationships after that.
I don't intend to be in another ever.

We are both 40.

So you both started dating each other at 14. Actually you were childhood sweethearts who’ve lasted. Different ama.

Iwilladmit · 29/05/2024 08:29

How old was he when you were 14?

They are the same age now, so presumably they were then too.

What's the secret OP? How long before it turned serious? Did you have family opposition?

How did I suggest the AMA was anything different? 🤔

I would assume if they are both 40 now he was also 14, i if r could have been an older 13 or a younger 15?

It turned serious very quickly.

I'd had a crush on him for over a year and him me. We were just both very shy.

Once we got together we were inseparable really.

Because the title made it look more click baity as his age not mentioned.

Cool if he was 14-16, not cool if he was 36

They were hoping he was 18 so they could spend the thread slating him!

CatonmyKeyboard · 29/05/2024 08:38

Did you ever take a break and get back together?

Well it's AMA and the first question was how old is he? You don't put all the information in the title as there would be nothing to ask.

Do you have DC?

I was 18 when I got together with DP. I'm almost 34 now. 2 DC, who are 12 and 10.

It doesn't seem like we've been together 15 years! We've shared so much together.

No. We've had rocky times but never split.

Yes we have 4.

Yea it seems crazy to say we've been together 26 years, makes me feel very old!

How old were you when you had your first DC. Were they planned?

Foxblue · 29/05/2024 08:45

How do you know that your relationship is good, how do you judge if the way you treat each other is acceptable - do you have good role models for relationships around you?
Would you choose each other again if you met now?

Fleurdalys · 29/05/2024 08:45

My husband and I were both 14 when we got together.
Both now 55

BeansGreens · 29/05/2024 08:46

I was 20, I wouldn't say planned, we weren't actively TTC but I did want a baby and we had become lax in contraceptives.

DH was still super shocked.

I'm surprised we made it to 20 tbh as we weren't always militant with contraception.

I'm not sure I understand the question. I mean how does anyone judge that?

By the way the other person makes you feel about yourself?

He's kind, supportive, caring. We kiss and cuddle everyday. Tell each other we love each other constantly.

We rarely argue.

We did argue alot more in our 20s but that was probably due to the stress of young children.

It's all much chiller now.

We've never had any violence or threatening behaviour in out relationship. Never had control or any negative behaviours.

Neither of us had good relationship role models in the form of parents.

A bit of a personal question but what's your sex life like now? Do you still feel the same attraction and have the same sex drive after so many years with the same person?

Oh, and, have you ever felt attracted to someone else and wondered what sex would be like with them?

Our sex life has always been really good.

It's not as frequent. Maybe once a week but I have health problems and am constantly tired but we never have shit sex.

There's definitely attraction but it's changed over the years. It's less 'I wnat to jump your bones in the middle of Asda' and more like 'I love you so much and want to connect with you tonight' (not that I would say that, that's just how it feels)
My body's changed alot and I've lost a lot of confidence but in the moment he gives it me that confidence back.

I've never had a crush on another man whilst with him. I mean celebrities yes, but never someone in real life but I have wondered what it would be like to have had different partners but I think it's normal human curiosity to wonder about what you don't have. I certainly don't feel I've missed out on anything.
The thought of random hook ups and ONS do nothing for me.
