@Embley I was a bit hunched and still am TBH as currently hurts between my boobs when I straighten out. But I suspect it’s a matter of remembering to correct your posture going forward. My shoulders already feel significantly better.

Brilliant, I was the same. It’s 2 1/2 kg you won’t miss.

2.5 kilos! Blimey. I've seen pics you have previously posted and you are clearly slender so they must have been such big breasts. I lost barely a kilo from both and feel so different. I know it's all relative and I saw in FB groups just how much so many women were suffering with breasts that were double plus than mine...

I truly feel more women should be helped with getting this surgery. In many ways it is a disability for so many.

I am living it up post surgery with the luxury of tea in bed! Consultant very happy with how it all went, as am I. Feeling absolutely fine, I can go home tomorrow morning when they take the drains out.

Lemonadeintheshade · 15/11/2024 21:42

@starsinyourpies really pleased to hear all went well 😊

So happy for you!

Not too much pain today just the 'tight' feeling others have described. Can't wait to get the drains & cannula out and go home!

CornishYarg · 16/11/2024 11:59

Great news @Embley and @starsinyourpies!

Just sharing two unexpected benefits I've recently discovered:

  1. My asthma has noticeably improved. Normally at this time of year I start wheezing thanks to the damp cold weather and I have to up my inhalers. But all good so far since my op. So totally agree with you @Leonoranobra, it's so frustrating that an operation that can have such a significant impact on physical and mental health is largely viewed as a cosmetic procedure that's almost impossible to get on the NHS and not covered by medical insurance.
  1. And a more lighthearted one - scarves hang better! They now hang down rather than sitting on top of the "boob shelf" and adding even more bulk
starsinyourpies · 16/11/2024 18:18

@CornishYarg that's amazing!

Madagascary · 17/11/2024 11:57

I’m interested that your surgeon gave you drains. When I mentioned it to mine because I’d read a lot about it online he said that was quite unusual. This is in the UK anyway.

OP posts:
Blimmingboobs · 17/11/2024 12:16

My surgeon seemed quite proud to say that I’d be drain free.

CornishYarg · 17/11/2024 12:57

My surgeon (UK) used drains. My operation was in the afternoon and the drains were removed early the following morning.

Embley · 17/11/2024 15:06

I also had drains (uk)

Blimmingboobs · 17/11/2024 16:25

Sorry I should have said mine was UK drain free

starsinyourpies · 17/11/2024 17:01

I had drains this week at mine, taken out the next morning before I went home.

Embley · 18/11/2024 20:32

I’m 5 days post op and have been mostly sleeping, anyone else? I wasn’t expecting to be so tired

Blimmingboobs · 19/11/2024 08:18

I was having daytime naps as wasn’t sleeping well at night

Blimmingboobs · 19/11/2024 08:20

I’m back on site at work now and that is exhausting because I’m still in sone pain but desperately concealing it so that nobody will notice.

But nobody noticed the boobs yesterday! I literally can’t believe it, it’s the main reason I put this off for so long.

starsinyourpies · 19/11/2024 11:20

4 days after here and no naps just pottering around gently!

Lemonadeintheshade · 19/11/2024 19:56

@Embley we’re all so different. If your body is telling you to sleep, you sleep. It’ll be the anaesthetic. The anaesthetic knocked me for six, I couldn’t get my words out for two days afterwards, it was really scary and something I absolutely wasn’t expecting.

@Blimmingboobs nobody has noticed mine either but I’m glad, would hate if someone asked if I had them done. I told nobody apart from DH.

@starsinyourpies glad to hear recovery is going well.

i’ve had a reaction to the cream I was using to help reduce scarring. Didn’t use it this morning but still spotty and itchy. Hoping it goes away quickly 🤞🏻

It’s so odd how no one notices. Everyone agrees that it’s a thing

@Blimmingboobs I hope you are a bit less sore now?

I am feeling a bit stiff & sore but otherwise fine. Looking forward to getting the dressings changed tomorrow.

Blimmingboobs · 20/11/2024 12:43

I feel more normal in general but still reasonably sore. Not stopping me doing things anymore really though (apart from hoovering!).

wounds are weeping a fair bit which I was advised is normal. My sister (who is a nurse) recommended some mesh (Silfkex) to use which is quite expensive but should stop my boobs from welding to my bra 🙏

Singletrackmind · 24/11/2024 12:17

I had drains, they were removed the morning after/ before I left. I found the first few days after surgery hard going, you are tired and sore. Everyone feels different though so just go with how you feel.

Loving all the benefits people are noticing .. totally agree [also noticed the asthma thing] .. this is not a cosmetic surgery. The amount of 'life' it gives you back is just astounding ... you ladies in the early days have so much to look forward to ... as it is just so liberating. Very excited and happy for you all :-) 15 months on I am still look in the mirror every day with a real sense of gratitude that I had the courage to finally do it.

On that note I will probably step away from the thread now as I've probably prattled on enough over the last year or so. I do just want to say a heartfelt thanks to all you lovely kind ladies not least the OG OP @Bigtitsbettyforgotherpassword and the ever frank @Madagascary who have helped me so much along the way and to wish you all the very best on your own journeys.

sammylady37 · 24/11/2024 13:12

Has anyone has brachioplasty at the same time as a reduction?

Embley · 25/11/2024 12:44

I’m almost 2 weeks post op and weirdly keep losing feeling in my little finger and one side of my forearm. Has anyone else had this? I was wondering if the surgery could effect nerves
