I saw the similar thread about weed the other day so thought I would start this thread. Ask me anything.

How old are you? Do you have your heart checked regularly?

Bpickle1 · 10/05/2023 18:27

Good for you, feeling particularly special after a bump are we? why do you think this warrants an AMA?

Besttobe8001 · 10/05/2023 18:29

You and everyone else ... I don't see why this requires an AMA. It's not exactly fascinating.

Ringmaster27 · 10/05/2023 18:29

Would you say you’re an addict?
I was a regular user in my teens (along with a lot of other substances) and didn’t acknowledge it as an addiction until long after I’d kicked the habit.
I’ve not touched the stuff - or anything else other than the odd joint in 15 years - but it’s quite commonplace in the area of work I’m in, and I can’t fathom how people I know with relatively low paid jobs are affording it as regularly as they are!

betaglucans · 10/05/2023 18:29

how much do you spend per month?

plasticpens · 10/05/2023 18:30

Why?

Harkonen · 10/05/2023 18:30

I have a friend in her 50s who uses cocaine regularly and says she has no health problems. Terrible mood swings though. How old are you?

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 10/05/2023 18:30

Why?

Do you ever worry it will kill you?

Does the exploitation of people down the chain who supply you the drug worry you?

neilyoungismyhero · 10/05/2023 18:30

Personally I think people who take drugs are scum.

mynameiscalypso · 10/05/2023 18:30

Ok. I'll bite. How do you feel about the human impact of the cocaine trade and the lives that it has destroyed?

switswoo81 · 10/05/2023 18:30

Do you feel guilty about the thousands of innocent lives lost every year and the people who live in the shadow of constant violence and threat of death and torture the most violent ways to supply your good time.

JazzyJelly · 10/05/2023 18:32

Have you ever read about the devastation caused by the cocaine trade? Looked at photos?

februarysunset · 10/05/2023 18:32

Do you worry about cocaine being cut with fentanyl?

Sunnysunbun · 10/05/2023 18:32

The global, environmental impact of cocaine production is incredibly bad. Areas are being destroyed and will never recover. The devastation of indigenous people that is caused by drugs gangs is appalling. Violence in areas where drugs are produced has a very high impact on the lives of women and children.
Drug dealers and producers fund child prostitution and the exploitation of women.

Can I ask you if it’s worth it? I hate drug users.

wildfirewonder · 10/05/2023 18:37

Do you worry about the lives ruined by the drugs trade?

She will definitely be damaging her heart it’s well known in healthcare that users of cocaine over 40 are seriously damaging their hearts.

Thisisnotprincesskate · 10/05/2023 18:40

How old are you? Do you have your heart checked regularly?

Im 26, I don’t have heart checked no but I am honest with doctors about my drug use. (I know you didn’t ask but I don’t have kids)

Would you say you’re an addict?

No but once I have a drink each weekend I definitely get a taste for it but I will only have it if I’m on a proper night out which is most weekends but I go to work throughout the week and don’t want it.

how much do you spend per month?

About £200 averaging £50 a week.

Why?

I have mental health problems that I have begged GPs to help with, asked for assessments, had multiple suicide attempts. I was told I’m young so it’s hormones and it’ll settle but 10 years in it never did so I eventually started self medicating.

She swears rhat she's had all kinds of tests including private liver and heart tests. I can't quite believe she's not damaging her health but she says not.

Thisisnotprincesskate · 10/05/2023 18:44

I of course know about the people at the bottom of the ladder in the drug trade and I know it’s not the same but I am not rich and have grown up working class and very poor. I have been f’d over in life by higher ups and have just fallen into the cycle. It’s not justifying it but I’m not the 50 year old investment banker getting his jolly’s on. My circle was those people affected by the drug trade and going to prison for it.

Ringmaster27 · 10/05/2023 18:45

So £50 a week…but only on weekends. So you’re doing a gram every weekend on your own?
😬😬😬

What makes you morally superior to my friend (who happens to be a 50 year old professional!)?

I’m not any better. I’m just saying that the way I was brought by up, the areas I was brought up in - sometimes it’s a cycle which people fall into generation after generation because of how the system fails poorer people go get out of that environment

That being said if I could have afforded a private diagnosis and treatment years ago, I probably would not be in the position now where I prioritise the little money I have on buying drugs to self medicate the issues I have.

You can self refer for NHS talking therapy, not much, but it's free and a start.

Alternatively use that 50 a week to pay a good private counsellor.
