Feel free to ask me anything about the fact I've never been on holiday.

Is it because you can't be away from home, or because you choose not to?

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 25/02/2023 10:03

What do you do instead when you have time off work?

IncessantNameChanger · 25/02/2023 10:05

How old are you?

Have you ever been in any type of hotel at all?

Garrie · 25/02/2023 10:05

Never? Not even a weekend away?

Allthismidnighttalking · 25/02/2023 10:05

Why?

As a child we couldn't afford to go anywhere. A day trip out was a rare treat.

As an adult I've never felt I could plan and book a holiday. It's all alien to me.

Never stayed in a hotel.

Catch up on chores, hobbies, see friends & family.

Would you like to go on holiday if the opportunity arose?

JassyRadlett · 25/02/2023 10:11

Where's the furthest you've travelled from your home?

Do you live rurally or in an urban area?

Good question. Presumably you've been in the position to go away with family and friends, and they would have guided you through the process if you were uncertain.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 25/02/2023 10:13

Why not give it a go with something straightforward like a coach trip which includes a night away. That way you get transport from a local pick up point and accommodation and planning all sorted in one go

It depends how far away it was and how long for. I don't like the thought of leaving my house unattended for a long time.

Are you anxious about doing other things? Have you always lived in the same area?

I live rurally and have travelled 90 miles to see a theatre show.

Are you married or in a relationship? Do they want to go away?

CloseTheDooor · 25/02/2023 10:20

I'm quite an anxious person. I do think if I was fortunate to have travelled more as a child, I would be more confident do it as an adult.

I've always lived in the same town.

I have a dp. We have discussed holidays but I always get too worked up about it and it ends up falling through. Dp had many holidays as a child and young adult but is not too bothered about going on them now.

Where in the world are you most curious about seeing with your own eyes?

Allthismidnighttalking · 25/02/2023 11:03

Aren't you curious? I just can't imagine not being

CloseTheDooor · 25/02/2023 11:03

I don't know really. As a child I was always envious of my friends going on holidays in a caravan. One friend went to Devon and I thought she'd gone abroad Blush I was only 7 at the time.

No questions but watching the thread with genuine interest as (without offence to anyone else's choice) I really can't imagine not wanting to see more of the world.

My favourite AMAs are the ones that are polar opposites to me, I find them fascinating.

Thanks for starting the thread OP.

Skulldrudgery · 25/02/2023 11:18

Good thread OP. You are probably quite unique with this.
Are you happy with this situation or do you envy people who go on holiday?

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 25/02/2023 11:20

If you worry about the house, have you ever thought about going away with someone other than your DP so your DP would be looking after the house?

I agree it is a worry and makes me anxious when I go away.

Skulldrudgery · 25/02/2023 11:25

Do you live somewhere really beautiful? Somewhere you can gasp at the scenery? So you don’t need to travel to appreciate the beauty of the world?
