I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Crack on with any questions!

I’ve seen my Surgeon again and mine are getting done in 16 weeks. I can’t imagine what summer will be like without spending it boiling and uncomfortable.
A few weeks, you must be excited @Madagascary

May I just ask, are you all booking in as soon as you can after seeing your surgeons, is there such a delay? Or are you organising around life in general? Thank you

I had planned to wait till February but once you start it’s kind of like a tunnel that you can’t exit and so I was 😆

I’d luckily got a cancellation next month

@Martinisarebetterdirty
I researched my surgeon beforehand and knew I was certain about having it done. I was sent paperwork and then booked in the date.
I was hoping to have it done earlier, but it’ll be 16 weeks now as it looks like a bigger job than first expected. I have a small frame and huge boobs, so it’ll mean more time on the table I guess.

I waited 6 months but I was breastfeeding at the time and had to be quit for that long before they would operate. It worked out well as I quit bf at 18 months so I wasn’t pressured. I wouldn’t have waited otherwise, once you’ve mentally committed and met the surgeon, you just want it done asap!

Guys When I have it done I might start a new thread if you’re interested? Plus change my name for it. But I’ll dm you all.

Thanks all, I want to lose some weight first so should get cracking on that. I too have a small frame and massive boobs (wonky as I had a cancer lumpectomy a few years ago) so expect I’ll need a fair bit of time on the table too.

@Madagascary
great stuff, be interesting to see other peoples upcoming experiences.
@Martinisarebetterdirty
i lost two stone before I went to the Surgeon, and am going to get another vanity half a stone off before the reduction I think. I’ve been concentrating on weight lifting, but it’s been a bit painful with lifting up with about 10 bags of sugar strapped to my front!
@Bigtitsbetty are u still wearing sports bras at the mo. I wonder what underwired feel like with the scars etc. think I’d probably stick to the non wired for life when I can, just from the experience of dealing with scaffolding type bras I’ve been wearing for years.

Well I have a development, I went to have my eyebrows done today and I knew that my beautician had had a nose job.
Turns out she’s had her boobs done too!! In February.
I told her I wouldn’t be around for a bit and she then showed me her tits! Which was slightly unexpected! She is younger than me maybe 40 and really doesn’t like the scar but the scar is really fine it just looks like a wire has dug in from the bottom of her boob to her nipple, anyway she said it’s amazing to not have to wear bras anymore.

I wonder how much mine will weigh , or rather how much will be removed. Bags of sugar style. 😀😀

I booked in for about three months ahead. My surgeon likes to see you twice before with at least a month between appointments to make sure that you understand and digest everything properly.

I had a holiday booked for August and was studying at the time which is why I had a delay really though.

I’m still in sports bras at the moment. They’re comfortable. I can’t remember but I think it’s six months until you can wear under wire. However I’m wondering if I’ll ever need that level of support because they are so pert now!

I've identified two surgeons now so now just need to lose some weight before I book in for consultations!

I am back in underwires because I prefer the shape.

i lost a stone before my surgery.

only 525g removed from each breast, which doesn’t sound a lot at all does it! But a huge difference.

A kilo in total though. Wonder what it looks like 😩

I lost 5 lbs when mine were reduced. Is that 5 bags of sugar?

No wonder l was in such constant back and neck pain.

Hello … just joining in here as I’m in the process of researching surgeons but posted over on another thread about recovery times as I’m quite worried/ scared about that as I’m quite active & rely on sports to keep me sane. But I just want the weight lifted off me too … it’s feels ridiculous to be carrying it around!

well you’ll not be able to do sport obv

Well not straight away obv 😆… I’m just interested in how many months before people have made it back to their more physical activities, like cycling or the gym.

Report
OhNoOhDearOh · 23/10/2022 19:56

6 weeks is the usual time off of usual activity like that but you’ll be able to go for walks once you feel well enough. You could probably start around 4 weeks and build up with your surgeons clearance.
