I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Crack on with any questions!

@Bigtitsbetty
sorry another question.
Since having the reduction, have you noticed a difference in aching in your neck and back.
I’m due to book the reduction next Thursday, and am hoping it’ll reduce the pain in those areas 🙏

I seem to be noticing my neck ache far more since I’ve booked myself in for mine! Plus look

@Madagascary if they noticed I looked different they were polite enough to say nothing. And I definitely did / do look different!

OhNoOhDearOh · 14/10/2022 19:51

My surgeon was so strict, I wasn’t even allowed to look down for 24 hours after surgery to not pull anything. No way I’d have been allowed in t shirts. I wore zip up hoodies for ease.

Thank you. Guys this thread so useful xx

I never really had pain or anything in my back but I noticed a massive lack of tension in my shoulders after surgery. I didn’t notice that it was there before, I felt like I’d had a massage.

Ooh. I have black ones. They seem to sell in the second hand market too. My surgeon gave me one and I bought a second because I’m only allowed 10 minutes a day without one.

They were big batwing things. No bending or stretching required.

What kind of ice packs should I buy

Bigtitsbetty · 17/10/2022 08:33

I didn’t have ice packs. Are they recommended? My surgeon didn’t mention them at all.

OhNoOhDearOh · 17/10/2022 17:32

No ice packs here either.

Madagascary · 17/10/2022 20:53

oh thanks. Maybe just TikTok

OhNoOhDearOh · 17/10/2022 22:12

Follow your surgeons advice only.

Bigtitsbetty · 17/10/2022 22:54

I’d be worried that ice packs would cool down the area and affect blood flow, which might be a problem for healing.

Cook. Thanks both

OhNoOhDearOh · 19/10/2022 17:25

It isn’t even painful, drains / compression / ibuprofen deal with swelling. I see no use for ice packs.

and I didn’t think of that but yes, blood flow is paramount for wound healing and disrupting that is a big no no.

Madagascary · 20/10/2022 09:20

Thanks for that I see one TikTok or Vlog saying it’s easy and the next saying it’s hard work.
day 3 seems to be a point where people feel a bit hacked off

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 20/10/2022 09:32

I fainted when l had my drains out! That was really painful.

The rest wasn’t though

OhNoOhDearOh · 20/10/2022 09:36

I had a tummy tuck at the same time and those drains were a million times worse because they all snake inside you and they had to be pulled out in stages. It was disgusting and I had to brace myself at each time.

the boob drains weren’t too bad, not so feel and I don’t remember it being painful.

m the procedure recovery for me I didn’t even notice my boobs at all. They used so much local anaesthetic they were numb for about 4 days and then it was more muscular soreness. The tummy tuck recovery was what was hard work, but maybe if I’d had the surgery separately I’d have felt the boobs were more bothersome than they were.

Madagascary · 20/10/2022 12:18

Thanks, I asked my surgeon about drains and he said he only uses them when he opens you up you are a bit… and I quote “oozy”
when I mentioned reading about people not lifting their arms above their head he looked non plussed. He is a surgeon though, honest! Only a few weeks to go !

Martinisarebetterdirty · 20/10/2022 13:18

i wasn’t expecting drains, well hoping not to need them when I come to book in anyway!

OhNoOhDearOh · 20/10/2022 14:45

my surgeon is predominately a reconstructive surgeon for breast cancer survivors and is one of the best in the country, so I wonder if his use of drains was linked more with that. I don’t know!

Bigtitsbetty · 20/10/2022 14:55

I only had drains for about 15 hours but there was about 5ml of blood in each.

I didn’t hurt until I started doing stuff but even then it wasn’t painful.

I’ve been back at work for almost two weeks now. People have asked if I lost weight. And today I realised that I am not holding my boobs when I run up and down stairs 😂

Oh that’s ace. Was wondering how you are. I’m staying in overnight so hopefully if drains then just then.

when I squidge mine to imagine them after , I immediately look younger.

FayeGovan · 20/10/2022 16:14

Im so jealous. Im a J cup. Ive always had massive boobs. But i could never afford to get a reduction. Im just so jealous. Enjoy feeling nice and normal op.
