Me too op years ago. Do they still give drivers one pound per delivery? And would you personally pay £12.99 for a dominos? I wouldn't.

Skyejuly · 27/01/2020 20:37

Why is it so expensive?

Keepmewarm · 27/01/2020 20:38

Mmmm I really want a pizza now

bumblenbean · 27/01/2020 20:39

What’s the cookie recipe? 😀

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 27/01/2020 20:39

I used to work in a Dominos way back in the midsts of time (well, the early noughties!) Do you still get people in buying bagfuls of the Garlic and Herb dips?

bluebella4 · 27/01/2020 20:45

Why have they stopped selling the cheesy garlic bread Italian range?

Fedupwithmyhouse · 27/01/2020 20:48

I love dominos SO MUCH!!!

Would they let someone work there one night a week?

pineapplepepperoni · 27/01/2020 20:50

I’ve worked for a couple of different franchises and it varies with pay/fuel money for drivers. I think most stores it is around £1-£1.50 per delivery to cover petrol.

I think it’s priced so high because there are always multiple offers running, it’s very unusual to have a customer actually buy the pizza at full menu price. People often say ‘oh it’s £18 for a pizza there’ but it’s not really the case when you look at the deals and discounts you apply to that.

I don’t know the cookie recipe unfortunately, they come wrapped up and ready to put through the oven!

We don’t get people buying bag-fulls of the garlic & herb dip- I could totally understand if they did though! No supermarket equivalent really compares in my opinion.

Oh and why did they get rid of the double decadence? Do you still have to contribute towards staff meals? I think we had to contribute £1 or £2 for a personal pizza.

HRH2020 · 27/01/2020 20:58

What's the hygiene like ??

Northernsoullover · 27/01/2020 21:02

How do delivery drivers make money if that's all they pay? Or is there an hourly rate on top?

Rajahthetiger · 27/01/2020 21:04

I don’t have a question I just wanted to say that cinni dippers are life Grin

Fantababy · 27/01/2020 21:08

Why are the gluten free bases only available in small? Coeliacs don't have weirdly small appetites. (Do others comment this? Surely it's not just me?)

headlock · 27/01/2020 21:08

Love a dominoes and always get an extra tub of dip Smile

wibblysnail · 27/01/2020 21:18

Why don't the staff wear gloves when they are making the pizzas?

cuckooken · 27/01/2020 21:21

Do people actually pay full price for pizza? So many deals to be had and codes to be googled.

I get a 50% off code sent every week, it's also reusable so the teens can use it if they order with friends etc.

pineapplepepperoni · 27/01/2020 21:21

@bluebella4 we stopped selling the Italiano range over a year ago now, I don’t think it was really selling enough and some of the extra ingredients had quite short use-by dates. Plus it was an extra faff when one came up on an order and slowed the pizza-making line down when it was busy.

@Fedupwithmyhouse They are generally quite flexible, especially with driver jobs so it’s always worth checking out if you ever need part-time work or an additional income. Most of the drivers generally do it as an additional job or around studying.

@bakedbeanzontoast If you do a certain number of hours you get a free 9 inch pizza to eat on shift. There is usually the odd spare going as well if customers don’t collect or order is made wrong. Some managers are pretty relaxed and don’t mind if you put wedges or garlic bread through if you’re hungry, however I do know at some stores management will actually throw away any spare food/uncollected orders to make sure staff don’t get it :( I think the rules can really vary on store/franchise with these benefits. Our staff discount is 50% off orders on collection- this is at full menu price though so certain orders work out the same with offers!

@HRH2020 I think the hygiene and cleanliness is very good. They have to meet a high standard to operate under the Domino’s name and are subject to frequent inspections where everything is checked over. If you are on shift until closing time you don’t generally leave until an hour after the store has shut because everything is cleaned very thoroughly. It does make me wonder how many other takeaways go to the same effort!

@Northernsoullover That’s the money drivers get per delivery for fuel, they are also paid an hourly rate (minimum wage at my store) and get to keep all their own tips.

@bakedbeanzontoast - totally agree with you re double decadence. So @pineapplepepperoni can we ask you to find out why they stopped making it. It was bloody lush and I now don’t order Dominos since they stopped it as nothing else compares 😒

Northernsoullover · 27/01/2020 22:30

That's not so bad then..

Iwantacookie · 27/01/2020 22:35

Can you bulk send me the cookies since you dont know the recipe Wink

bakedbeanzontoast · 27/01/2020 23:31

Thanks OP 🍕

I'd love if they did a baked bean pizza...

Inappropriatefemale · 27/01/2020 23:35

Do you eat the pizza ingredients as you go?

pineapplepepperoni · 27/01/2020 23:35

@Fantababy Unlike the regular bases gluten-free aren’t freshly stretched from dough but come out a packet, I’m guessing they only stock the one size because they’re not ordered as frequently. The small size has been commented on by customers, particularly when they have ordered online then come in to collect and are surprised by the small size! Hopefully there will be more choice in the future.

@wibblysnail that’s a good question I’m not actually 100% sure but all staff frequently wash and sanitise hands between topping the pizzas. Perhaps because we are preparing food to be cooked rather than making a product (like sandwiches) which will be immediately eaten by the customer watching. In the same way chefs in kitchen restaurants handle food with bare hands before cooking.

@Cuckooken very rarely, the deals are always on- in a way they are the ‘real’ price of the pizza rather than a special offer.

@Arseit not sure why the double decadence base was discontinued in all honesty, although I don’t remember them being as popular as stuffed crust. I’m sure there’s online petitions to bring it back though!

pineapplepepperoni · 27/01/2020 23:39

@Iwantacookie I would love to be able to take a huge box of the cookies to cook at home! Shame there’s nothing similar in the shops to stock up with.

@Inappropriatefemale No definitely not, we are very exposed to watching customers plus I wouldn’t really fancy munching on raw bits of onion/mushroom/mozzarella Grin

Waterandlemonjuice · 27/01/2020 23:42

Why did they stop doing anchovies? Dd and I now put our own on when they arrive.
