I can't think of anything

crosspelican · 06/03/2019 15:59

Nope. Not really that interesting, dude.

Sparklingbrook · 06/03/2019 16:00

I have one of my own to ask.

averylongtimeago · 06/03/2019 16:01

I've got one of those at home. I can ask him.

bunintheoven88 · 06/03/2019 16:02

How long have you been married?

Sparklingbrook · 06/03/2019 16:02

I am going to ask mine if he fancies going to the pub for dinner.

DearPrudence · 06/03/2019 16:03

Oh.

Shockers · 06/03/2019 16:04

How long does your sympathy for a flu- ridden wife last?

villageshop · 06/03/2019 16:05

Well I think it's a good question. It could be interesting to see another's perspective.

What do you think of what you read on mumsnet? Has it changed / helped how you see women?

IWouldPreferNotTo · 06/03/2019 16:05

Same here. Fancy a pint?

Sparklingbrook · 06/03/2019 16:09

Sounds good IWouldPreferNotTo.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 06/03/2019 16:10

Do you think you do your fair share around the house/childcare

TinselAndKnickers · 06/03/2019 16:11

Do you want a medal?

Hanab · 06/03/2019 16:11

Are you faithful to your spouse?

Crushedvelvetcouch · 06/03/2019 16:14

Are you happily married or.....?

iklboo · 06/03/2019 16:14

Jolly good show.

PortiaCastis · 06/03/2019 16:18

No shit sherlock

villageshop · 06/03/2019 16:33

Hmm, asks a question but doesn't listen to the answer...🙄

purplepears · 06/03/2019 16:37

Why are you on Mumsnet? I've never understood men being on here.

IWouldPreferNotTo · 06/03/2019 16:54

@purplepears

Because large amount of things related to parenting aren't specific to mothers, other than the biological stuff it's an open playing field.

I could find some Dad specific forum for information on car seats or I could just use a large resource already existing which despite having a Y chromosome still works.

donquixotedelamancha · 06/03/2019 17:12

Why are you on Mumsnet? I've never understood men being on here.

'By parents, for parents'.

Yeah why should school issues, brexit, cheeky fuckers, holidays, special needs, parking arguments, houses, women's rights, politics, losing weight or gardening concern men? They are only interested in beer and football, after all.

I'm a married man Well done.

Calzone · 06/03/2019 17:15

Do you like to get medals when you empty the dishwasher?
Do you tell your wife when you have done the washing?

Are you competitive when it comes to illness or tiredness?

Sparklingbrook · 06/03/2019 18:13

Where has he gone?

toddman70 · 06/03/2019 18:14

How long does your sympathy for a flu- ridden wife last?
My sympathy for my DW when she has the flu lasts as long as has the flu. If she is sick, she has my sympathies. She is a stubborn person and does not rest unless she is really ill.

It’s very informative, giving me a different perspective to how I was raised as a child. It’s caused me to realize that I have view the world through rose tinted glasses. Now I pause and try to get a better understanding of what is truly going on in a situation before making an opinion or judgment.

Do you think you do your fair share around the house/childcare?
No/No/Yes
Early on from years 1 to probably year 8 the answer would have been no to both house work and childcare. I was an ass back then. I was an early 20s selfish immature jerk who honestly didn’t know what it meant to be a husband and a dad. We got married and moved cross country away from her family and toward may parents, so she had zero support. She had no one to turn to, but eventually developed a great relationship with MIL and Fil. We have our only DC after 5 years of marriage and he is colicky but I’m never around so DW talks to PILs about what is going on, my dad talks to me and basically asks me if my goal was to lose my wife. I was shocked because I thought everything was great. I was wrong. We worked through this stretch and now the answer is easily a yes I do my fair share.

TinselAndKnickers
Do you want a medal?
Yes
But, not for what you think. I what a medal for my wife. She is the most confident, compassionate, driven woman I know. She won’t let me set for mediocrity, and that was what was hurting our marriage in the beginning. She knows how to get the best out of me. While doing all of this she is also a successful businesswoman in her own right, She has her own life. That is why I want a medal, for the awesome woman that she is.
Hanab
Are you faithful to your spouse?

Yes I am faithful to my spouse.
