Have name changed for anonymity as this is something that only my DH knows.

What's your game, is it poker?

onegiftedgal · 29/08/2018 00:20

No, I concentrate solely on gaming machines. I don't work any live casino.

OP posts:
MrsChollySawcutt · 29/08/2018 00:31

How does that work - do you mean online or actual slot machines somewhere??

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 29/08/2018 00:34

Do you have a technique? Is it poss to make money?
Have you been banned from certain gaming places?

Thomlin · 29/08/2018 00:34

How much do you earn per year on average? Sounds really interesting Smile

ColinsVeryJolly · 29/08/2018 00:35

Do you ever film yourself and upload to YouTube? I’m a little bit obsessed with watching slot machine players on there Blush

Passivelyagressivelynotshaggin · 29/08/2018 00:37

How much do you make? Do you do bonus hunting or play it straight? Do you think the gambling industry regulations make it more difficult to make a living further down the line?

What's been your most profitable win?

onegiftedgal · 29/08/2018 00:50

I solely work online due to the need to work from home with 3 children.
I haven't been banned from anywhere and have taken around 3 years to develop my technique/ method.
The past 2 years I have brought in around £75k per year, which of course is tax free. That is from working approx 3 hours per day on average.
I always prioritise seeking bonuses before playing it straight. My most profitable win to date has been £16k in 10 minutes earlier this year.
I'm of the mindset that the gambling industry is actually making it easier/ fairer for their 'customers' but as you probably know, casinos can vary hugely in their offerings.

I literally don’t understand the pub games machines. How did you get into it?

Iwantaunicorn · 29/08/2018 01:01

Whats been you biggest loss?
Do you ever worry you’ll get addicted?
How much money did you start with?
Do you enjoy doing it?

todayiwin · 29/08/2018 01:05

Bit cynical here ..... isn't it like most addictive behaviour, it's stars off fun?

SleepWarrior · 29/08/2018 01:34

And how much did you actually make when you factor in what you spent? How much profit?

delphguelph · 29/08/2018 01:52

But how do you know how to win? Time of day? Website?

It's all Greek to me tbh.

Were you good at maths at school?

NotTheWayISeeIt · 29/08/2018 02:04

If you earn so much from 3 hours gambling a day why don't you jack in your day job and work the full day gambling 🤔. Unless you have a massively well paid job it would be easily worth your while.

3 hours a day after a full days work doesn't leave much time for other things. I think I'd find it boring. Do you? Or do you find it fun?

Also what's the longest you've gone without a reasonable win?

onegiftedgal · 29/08/2018 08:04

I'm a full time mother and this is totally my day job. I gave up the whole commuting to London thing when I had my first child.
I was very good at maths at school, I love anything to do with number crunching ☺
I studied something different at university and worked in that field for 15 years.
My husband is a headteacher of a secondary school and it was a maths teacher who sparked my interest in the technique.
As I say, it has taken 3 years to get to the level I'm at, I love it. Why would I work at anything else when this pays so well. 3 hours is all the time I have to spend on it.
As for addiction, I see where you are coming from but I treat this solely as a job. I can extract a certain amount, say £20-£30 from each offer and I do approx 4-5 offers per hour.
It''s just numbers to me....I drink the odd glass of wine but I'm not an alcoholic.
I started with £50 and built steadily on that. The way I work, I don't risk anything, I only extract the profit, so no, I have never lost a penny - I wouldn't do it otherwise.
Regarding time of day, mornings and after lunch are good. I mostly avoid weekend evenings. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are always the most profitable.

Is this the same as matched betting? in which case don't the casino's eventually get wise and ban you?

Carly767 · 29/08/2018 09:03

What type of offers are you talking about? Surely you have run out of new player bonuses by now?

Boxie123 · 29/08/2018 09:15

How does this kind of income work in terms of borrowing? Would it be problematic if applying for a loan or mortgage, for example?

MrsChollySawcutt · 29/08/2018 09:37

I did matched betting a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. It was a nice way to earn about £3.5k tax free and it paid for a holiday for the family.

But after the newbie offers ran out I gave up. How do you keep going and how to you make so much on each offer, I think £4 profit was a good outcome when MB.

titchy · 29/08/2018 09:52

I always prioritise seeking bonuses before playing it straight

Hmm So that means you do play slots straight, with no bonus incentive then? If that's true you're lying or an addict. No professional plays games straight as there's no +EV, and no professional thinks they can do it indefinitely.

I do agree it is possible to make that sort of money though - I make a decent amount from slots myself on the train to work (£1k+ each month), but not from playing straight.

Passivelyagressivelynotshaggin · 29/08/2018 10:00

I find this really interesting. I have a family member who started off matched betting then moved into doing this sort of thing full time.

Do you think that this is sustainable?

Do you play large or small stakes? I understand wagering requirements and busting out but have never worked out how you can consistently make profit. The way my family member explained it was sometimes you hit a big one, but most times you lose, it's just playing with the law of averages and the RTP %. And having enough of a pot to absorb the losses.

EssexMummy123456 · 29/08/2018 10:03

ah or is it like the naked trader method? which was something along the lines of if you have 6 open positions 4 will probably make a loss which you cut at say 5-% and a couple will make a profit

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/08/2018 10:13

Without being rude or patronising.
How can anyone possibly be able professional gambler. Surely it's down to good old fashioned basic luck.

onegiftedgal · 29/08/2018 10:24

Matched betting is not the same no, that is profiting from the bookies and their sports offerings. I'm quite an advanced matched bettor and have and still make a good amount from them. Re loads are great of course but the real money is in accas, profit boosts and refunds. Casinos are more profitable.
I've probably not explained it well but I always use bonus/ free spins deals first. When I say that I play straight, what I mean is that I'll use the bonus first which actually 96% of the time creates the profit within the wagering requirements etc but if it doesn't, I play straight using the techniques that work for me until the profit shows - however large or small, the profit always comes.
I work with negative EV and any % RTP, it doesn't matter to me. I can extract profit on any amount of wagering requirement.
Offers are abundant and long term I cannot see why that would change.
Regarding mortgages, loans etc - I use a totally separate bank account and am never borrowing so it is not a problem. We have nearly paid the mortgage off from this now anyway ☺
I don't have any 'pot' to absorb losses as I don't have any.
I've spent a lot of time studying the casinos, games, offers etc and part of it is that I work under their 'radar' - I take the profit (like I say, however large or small) and move on. I never attempt to play on past the profit.

The luck element is what provides the size of the profit but you would only have your fingers crossed and hope for luck if you don't know how to approach and complete offers or are an amateur just hoping for that big win.
I approach it methodically, calculating what I need to do to extract the profit. I will always get something back on an offer and I'm happy with that. If I happen to hit a jackpot whilst completing it then great - that is 'luck' and extra to what I calculated I'd earn.
It is my job now and I don't consider myself an amateur anymore.
People regard stockbrokers as having a very high profile and respected job, but they are gambling still by trading on the market.
Casinos of course love amateurs but are not so keen on people like me who have tapped into their little weak spots.
