OP your answer was 42 but what was the question?! Also, do you prefer original radio series, books or tele adaptation? Still like Zaphod's catchphrase re Arthur from radio series, daren't repeat it here because Lily and other twa*s may misconstrue.

Feckitall · 12/07/2018 22:42

Have you ever played football yourself OP? (women footballer here) utterly rubbish though, play at local team level

Also you come across as very grounded, it's been great reading..

cafenoirbiscuit · 12/07/2018 22:49

Echoing everyone else - fab thread .

How often does your DH get weighed by the club? Is there a maximum weight for him?

GrumbleBumble · 12/07/2018 22:49

Has your husband ever put in a transfer request/ agitated for a move or on the flip side been out of contract and without a club lined up?

Does he have any international caps?

Lollipop18 · 12/07/2018 22:52

What’s the relationship like with you and the mum of his child?

hastalavistababy · 12/07/2018 22:54

No question OP but just wanted to say that you sound lovely. I’ve really enjoyed reading this thread

coolncalm · 12/07/2018 22:59

How much do you spend in one average week?

Has your husband (or you) ever had a stalker or particularly crazy fan?

What sections of mumsnet do you usually read and/or post on?

Kaybush · 13/07/2018 00:05

Thanks OP! Best thread in a long while, you sound really lovely and it's made me stay up long after my bedtime!

hellololly · 13/07/2018 00:23

Thanks op! Definitely write the book, I've thoroughly enjoyed this thread!

Will people STOP guessing names and asking ridiculously outing questions? So irritating

MikeUniformMike · 13/07/2018 01:30

They get reported and deleted I think.
I have a question: Would you or Mr iamawagama go on a Celebrity show or Strictly?

MountFuji · 13/07/2018 02:24

Yes I do. It always made me a bit sad when VB swapped her engagement ring for a huge one.

This is lovely, I have the same view. When we got engaged money was tight and the diamond in my ring is not at all big. Compared to friends rings it is tiny. Times have changed and I often get asked when I am going to upgrade it. I never would.

Floradoranora · 13/07/2018 04:19

I suspect they can’t help themselves despite repeated requests not to do it. It must be a compulsion. Just report it and it will deleted.

Biblio78 · 13/07/2018 05:36

OP... I just thought of another question!
As 2 days ago I was roped into the mums 'fun run' at sports day. Hadn't expected it so had to run barefoot as had platform sandals on!
Made me wonder if you and DH are expected to participate in sports day events or do you studiously avoid Grin

DreamingofSunshine · 13/07/2018 06:29

Great thread OP.

Did you/did you consider selling the photo rights to your wedding?

I know a few footballers, and they sold their photos as they said then the magazine handled the security for it. They are also trying to maximize their earnings as they are very aware they are one injury away from having to end their career.

lonefox · 13/07/2018 07:03

Like many others, loving this. Pure escapism! I'd live to know the contents of your beautiful handbag. Is it full of the usual everyday mum shite...wipes, sun cream, baby socks, lippy, compact, purse, receipts from 5 years ago, bag dust and bits (maybe i should clear out more often). Also what make-up brands do you wear? Is it all high end, or does no.7, kiko feature?

DrCorday · 13/07/2018 07:10

Op you sound so lovely and humble.

So my question, I always had a strange idea that I’d be a really good PA for people with money / footballers and their families. Kind of like an all round assistant to the family, including housekeeping management, booking holidays / travel, running errands like school drop off or picking up a red bag from a shop that has the right shade Grinetc. I live near to a very affluent area which has husbands in high paid roles (inc footballers), wives either supporting or also in high paid roles, but wouldn’t have any idea if this type of “role” even exists within their family set up? Plus I have a fantastic career so not sure I’d take the plunge and set up on my own. Do your family and close friends do these types of menial tasks? Or yourself? I suppose you have the trust thing to think about, and that what I’d love, that I’d be proper trusted within the family to support them.

I’m probably not making sense

(Let me know if you’d like a PA Wink)

strawberrisc · 13/07/2018 07:25

You sound so very not like how the DM would want a “Wag” to sound. I totally understand that working would be hard as you would constantly be letting down employers every time you move.

My question is do you get fed up of people saying football is just a group of men kicking about a bag of air? (It’s been said here many times!)

Watching a match it always makes me embarrassed that I couldn’t run the length of a football pitch once, never mind repeatedly for 90 minutes! I don’t have the logic to think ahead - it’s such a strategic game. Then there are the penalties. No wonder you don’t like watching him play!

Llareggub · 13/07/2018 07:30

All of you that keep asking for a book; there is one! It's called The Secret Footballer's Wife.

thelastredwinegum · 13/07/2018 07:38

Apologies if already been asked, haven't rtft.

As your DH started his career in the lower leagues and worked his way up, does he appreciate what he has more than the players who have always played at the top level?

iamawagama · 13/07/2018 08:09

Ohhh which series have you guys started?

Just started season 5 of The Affair, we loved season 1 then it got a bit weird. But I feel like we've watched every series known to man so might as well give it a go!

You said you don’t have a nanny, but what other household help do you have/will you have when house is sorted? PA? Housekeeper? Gardener? Driver? Chef?

In our main house we have a cleaner and a gardener. We have a driver on call for nights out if needed. Would never have a chef, I love cooking! Managed to host 25 people a few weeks ago and didn't get too frazzled Grin

I used to watch the original ‘Footballers Wives’ years ago, way before your time I expect! And I guess that’s still how I imagine WAGs lives to be. All the drama on these TV programmes though!! - but is there any or is it tame IRL?

I loved that show!
There definitely is a bit of drama in the football circles but I would assume no more drama than what you would get with any large group of friends. It's just when there's drama here you have to hope it doesn't make the papers!
(No baby swapping that I know of Wink)
